The ductile shearing zones of coal seams in a brittle deformation domain in super-ficial lithosphere are put forward based on the study on bedding shearing and ductile rheology of coal seams. The macrocosmic and microcosmic characteristics include wrinkle fold, mymonitized zones and ductile planar structure of coal seams, etc., while the microcosmic characteristics may also include different optic-axis fabrics and the anisotropy of vitrinite reflectance as well as the change of chemical structure and organic geochemistry components. The forming mechanism is analyzed and the strain environment of ductile shearing zones of coal seams discussed. The result indicates that, in the superficial brittle deformation domain, the coal seams are easy to be deformed, resulting in not only brittle deformation but also ductile shearing deformation under the action of force. Because of simple shearing stress, the interlayer gliding or ductile rheology may take place between coal seams and wall rocks. Therefore, many ductile shearing zones come into being in superficial lithosphere (<5 km). The research on ductile shearing zone of brittle de-formation domain in superficial lithosphere is significant not only theoretically for the study of ductile shearing and ductile rheology of the lithosphere but also practically for the structural movement of coal seams, the formation and accumulation of coal-bed methane, and the preven-tion and harness of gas burst in coal mine. 展开更多

Gas outbursts from "three-soft" coal seams (soft roof,soft floor and soft coal) constitute a very serious prob-lem in the Ludian gliding structure area in western Henan. By means of theories and methods of gas geology,structural geology,coal petrology and rock tests,we have discussed the effect of control of several physical properties of soft roof on gas preservation and proposed a new method of forecasting gas geological hazards under open structural conditions. The result shows that the areas with type Ⅲ or Ⅳ soft roofs are the most dangerous areas where gas outburst most likely can take place. Therefore,countermeasures should be taken in these areas to prevent gas outbursts. 展开更多

The classic polynomial chaos method(PCM), characterized as an intrusive methodology,has been applied to uncertainty propagation(UP) in many dynamic systems. However, the intrusive polynomial chaos method(IPCM) requires tedious modification of the governing equations, which might introduce errors and can be impractical. Alternative to IPCM, the non-intrusive polynomial chaos method(NIPCM) that avoids such modifications has been developed. In spite of the frequent application to dynamic problems, almost all the existing works about NIPCM for dynamic UP fail to elaborate the implementation process in a straightforward way, which is important to readers who are unfamiliar with the mathematics of the polynomial chaos theory. Meanwhile, very few works have compared NIPCM to IPCM in terms of their merits and applicability. Therefore, the mathematic procedure of dynamic UP via both methods considering parametric and initial condition uncertainties are comparatively discussed and studied in the present paper. Comparison of accuracy and efficiency in statistic moment estimation is made by applying the two methods to several dynamic UP problems. The relative merits of both approaches are discussed and summarized. The detailed description and insights gained with the two methods through this work are expected to be helpful to engineering designers in solving dynamic UP problems. 展开更多

The combustion chamber is the core component of an aero-engine, and affects its reliability and security operation, even the performance of the aircraft. In this work, a Plasma-Assisted Combustion(PAC) test platform was developed to validate the feasibility of using PAC actuators to enhance annular combustor performance. Two plans of PAC(rotating gliding arc discharge plasma) were designed, Assisted Combustion from Primary Holes(ACPH) and Assisted Combustion from Dilution Holes(ACDH). Comparative experiments and analysis between conventional combustion and PAC were conducted to study the effects of ACPH and ACDH on the performances including average outlet temperature, combustion efficiency, pattern factor under four different excessive air coefficients(0.8, 1, 2, and 4), and lean blowout performance at different inlet airflow velocities. Experimental results show that the combustion efficiency is improved after PAC compared with that in normal conditions, and the combustion efficiency of ACPH increases2.45%, 1.49%, 1.04%, and 0.47%, while it increases 2.75%, 1.67%, 1.36%, and 0.36% under ACDH conditions. The uniformity of the outlet temperature field and the lean blowout performance are improved after PAC. Especially for ACPH, the widening of the lean blowout limit is8.3%, 12.4%, 12.8%, and 25% respectively when the inlet velocity ranges from 60 m/s to120 m/s. These results offer new perspectives for using PAC devices to enhance aero-engine combustors' performances. 展开更多

PCDD/Fs have been become a serious issue because of their toxicological effects and associated adverse health implications. In this study, the gliding arc plasma was tested for treatment of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs), which was synthesized from pentachlorophenol in atmospheric condition at 350℃ with or without the catalysis of CuCl2. From the experiment, we found that the destruction efficiency of PCDD/F homologues after gliding was discharge ranged from 25% to 79%. This result demonstrates that gliding arc plasma is an effective technology to decompose PCDDs/Fs in flue gas. A plausible degradation mechanism for PCDD/Fs by gliding arc was discussed. Finally, a multistage reactor structure of gliding arc was proposed to upgrade removal efficiency for PCDD/Fs. 展开更多

The superplastic behavior has been found in Fe 3Al and FeAl alloys with grain sizes of 100~600 μm. The large grained Fe 3Al and FeAl alloys exhibit all deformation characteristics of conventional fine grain size superplastic alloys. However, superplastic behavior was found in large grained iron aluminides without the usual prerequisites for the superplasticity of a fine grain size and grain boundary sliding. The metallographic examinations have shown that average grain size of large grained iron aluminides decreased during superplastic deformation. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) observations have shown that there were a great number of subgrain boundaries which formed a network and among which the proportion of low and high angle boundaries increased with the increase of strain. The observed superplastic phenomenon is explained by continuous recovery and recrystallization. During superplastic deformation, an unstable subgrain network forms and these subboundaries absorb gliding dislocations and transform into low and high angle grain boundaries. A dislocation gliding and climb process accommodated by subboundary sliding, migration and rotation, allows the superplastic flow to proceed. 展开更多

Gliding is an important flight mode for insects because it saves energy during long distance flight without wing flapping. In this study, we investigated the influence of locust wing corrugation on the aerodynamic performance in gliding mode at low Reynolds number. Numerical simulations using two-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations are applied to study the gliding flight, which reveals the interaction between forewing and hindwing. The lift of the corrugated airfoil in a locust wing decreases from the wing root to the tip. Simulation results show that the pressure drags on the forewing and hindwing increase with an increase in wing thickness; while the lift-drag ratio of the airfoil is marginally affected by the corrugation on the airfoil. Geometric parameters analysis of the locust wing is also carried out, which includes the corrugation height, the corrugation placement and the shapes of leading and trailing edges. 展开更多

This paper proposes a novel hybrid algorithm called Fractional-order Particle Swarm optimization Gravitational Search Algorithm(FPSOGSA)and applies it to the trajectory planning of the hypersonic lifting reentry flight vehicles.The proposed method is used to calculate the control profiles to achieve the two objectives,namely a smoother trajectory and enforcement of the path constraints with terminal accuracy.The smoothness of the trajectory is achieved by scheduling the bank angle with the aid of a modified scheme known as a Quasi-Equilibrium Glide(QEG)scheme.The aerodynamic load factor and the dynamic pressure path constraints are enforced by further planning of the bank angle with the help of a constraint enforcement scheme.The maximum heating rate path constraint is enforced through the angle of attack parameterization.The Common Aero Vehicle(CAV)flight vehicle is used for the simulation purpose to test and compare the proposed method with that of the standard Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)method and the standard Gravitational Search Algorithm(GSA).The simulation results confirm the efficiency of the proposed FPSOGSA method over the standard PSO and the GSA methods by showing its better convergence and computation efficiency. 展开更多

The surface architectures and functionalities of the seeds were found to modify due to plasma treatments. 6 rain treatment was provided 95%-100% germination rate. For the treatment duration of 3 and 9 rain the growth activity, dry matter accumulation, leaves chlorophyll contents, longest spikes, number of spikes/spikelet and total soluble protein content in shoots were improved. The grain yield of wheat was increased ,--20% by 6 min treatment with H2O/O2 plasma with respect to control. 展开更多

钱学森先生1945年在论文《论高超声速相似律》中,首次提出了高超声速(hypersonic)的术语.高超声速飞行器具有的强大的军事和民事应用前景,20世纪80年代初,在世界上掀起了研究和发展高超声速飞行器的热潮,其中高超声速飞行器控制是其关... 钱学森先生1945年在论文《论高超声速相似律》中,首次提出了高超声速(hypersonic)的术语.高超声速飞行器具有的强大的军事和民事应用前景,20世纪80年代初,在世界上掀起了研究和发展高超声速飞行器的热潮,其中高超声速飞行器控制是其关键科学和技术问题之一.高超声速飞行器的研究取得了大量理论成果,与其形成鲜明对比的是,高超声速飞行器在试飞实验中却遇到了很大困难,例如X–51A,HTV–2.这种现象不得不引发我们进行深入思考.由于高超声速空气动力学研究的局限性,导致目前所建立的高超声速飞行器的动力学模型,与真实系统相比,其结构和参数不确定性非常大,它从根本上限制了控制理论和方法的研究.并且由于高超声速飞行器动力学模型的复杂性,导致目前工程应用中的控制方法复杂化.因此,针对高超声速飞行器控制问题,需要深入开展气动、控制交叉学科的研究,以及适于工程应用的自适应控制的研究.针对上述问题,我们开展了一定的研究.我们建立了三轴耦合的高超声速飞行器被控对象类X–20及其气动模型,并结合工程应用,直接针对表格形式的气动模型开展控制研究.针对强耦合和无解析动力学的控制问题,特征模型理论有其独特优势.近年来,我们系统研究了基于特征模型的高超声速飞行器的爬升、滑翔和再入控制问题.本文首先介绍特征模型理论和方法,进而综述和分析基于特征模型的高超声速飞行器自适应控制的研究进展,并提出进一步需要研究的问题. 展开更多

Methane conversion has been studied using gliding arc plasma in the presence of argon.The process was conducted at atmospheric pressure and ambient temperature.The focus of this research was to develop a process of converting methane to C2 hydrocarbons and hydrogen. The main parameters,including the CH4/Ar mole ratio,the CH4 flow rate,the input voltage,and the minimum electrode gap,were varied to investigate their effects on methane conversion rate, product distribution,energy consumption,carbon deposit,and reaction stability.The specific energy requirement(SER) was used to express the energy utilization efficiency of the process and provided a practical guidance for optimizing reaction conditions for improving energy efficiency. It was found that the carbon deposition was not conducive to methane conversion,and the gliding arc plasma discharge reached a stable state twelve minutes later.Optimum conditions for methane conversion were suggested.The maximum methane conversion rate of 43.39%was obtained under the optimum conditions.Also,C2 hydrocarbons selectivity,C2 hydrocarbons yield,H2 selectivity, H2 yield and SER were 87.20%,37.83%,81.28%,35.27%,and 2.09 MJ/mol,respectively. 展开更多

The underwater thermal glider utilizes ocean thermal energy to change its buoyancy, which enables it to ascend and descend. A Phase Change Material (PCM) as the working fluid inside the thermal engine tubes is sensitive to the surrounding seawater temperature, whose effects are different with the various displacements and gliding angles of the glider. In this paper, the effects of the displacement and the gliding angle on the performance of the thermal engine were studied numerically and experimentally. On this basis, the ways to eliminate the negative effect of a thermocline on the performance of the thermal engine were obtained. The results show that the displacement and gliding angle affect the transition time of the PCM. There exist the threshold values of the displacement and gliding angle for the normal work of thermal engine. There are two means of eliminating the negative effect of a thermocline on the performance of the thermal engine and improving glider performance: one is to increase the displacement, and the other is to decrease the absolute value of the gliding angle. Highly efficient and green ammonia production is an important demand for modern agriculture.In this study,a two-step ammonia production method is developed using a gliding arc discharge in combination with Cu/Cu_(2)O electrocatalysis.In this method,NO_(x)is provided by the gliding arc discharge and then electrolyzed by Cu/Cu_(2)O after alkaline absorption.The electrical characteristics,the optical characteristics and the NO_(x)production are investigated in discharges at different input voltage and the gas flow.The dependence of ammonia production through Cu/Cu_(2)O electrocatalysis on pH value and reduction potential are determined by colorimetric method.In our study,two discharge modes are observed.At high input voltage and low gas flow,the discharge is operated with a stable plasma channel which is called the steady arc gliding discharge mode(A-G mode).As lowering input voltage and raising gas flow,the plasma channel is destroyed and high frequency breakdown occurs instead,which is known as the breakdown gliding discharge mode(B-G mode).The optimal NO_(x)production of 7.34 mmol h^(-1)is obtained in the transition stage of the two discharge modes.The ammonia yield reaches0.402 mmol h^(-1)cm^(-2)at pH value of 12.7 and reduction potential of-1.0 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE). 展开更多

Plasma nitrogen fixation(PNF)has been emerging as a promising technology for greenhouse gasfree and renewable energy-based agriculture.Yet,most PNF studies seldom address practical application-specific issues.In this work,we present the development of a compact and automatic PNF system for on-site agricultural applications.The system utilized a gliding-arc discharge as the plasma source and employed a dual-loop design to generate NO_(x)from air and water under atmospheric conditions.Experimental results showed that the system with a dualloop design performs well in terms of energy costs and production rates.Optimal operational parameters for the system were determined through experimentation,resulting in an energy cost of 13.9 MJ mol^(-1)and an energy efficiency of 16 g kWh^(-1)for NO_(3)^(-)production,respectively.Moreover,the concentration of exhausted NO_(x)was below the emission standards.Soilless lettuce cultivation experiments demonstrated that NO_(x)^(-)produced by the PNF system could serve as liquid nitrate nitrogen fertilizer.Overall,our work demonstrates the potential of the developed PNF system for on-site application in the production of green-leaf vegetables. 展开更多

Accurately tracking hypersonic gliding vehicles via an LEO mega-constellation in relay tracking mode

In order to effectively defend against the threats of the hypersonic gliding vehicles(HGVs),HGVs should be tracked as early as possible,which is beyond the capability of the ground-based radars.Being benefited by the developing megaconstellations in low-Earth orbit,this paper proposes a relay tracking mode to track HGVs to overcome the above problem.The whole tracking mission is composed of several tracking intervals with the same duration.Within each tracking interval,several appropriate satellites are dispatched to track the HGV.Satellites that are planned to take part in the tracking mission are selected by a new derived observability criterion.The tracking performances of the proposed tracking mode and the other two traditional tracking modes,including the stare and track-rate modes,are compared by simulation.The results show that the relay tracking mode can track the whole trajectory of a HGV,while the stare mode can only provide a very short tracking arc.Moreover,the relay tracking mode achieve higher tracking accuracy with fewer attitude controls than the track-rate mode. 展开更多

Plasma sterilization is a new generation of high-tech sterilization method that is fast,safe,and pollution free.It is widely used in medical,food,and environmental protection fields.Home air sterilization is an emerging field of plasma application,which puts higher requirements on the miniaturization,operational stability,and operating cost of plasma device.In this study,a novel magnetically driven rotating gliding arc(MDRGA)discharge device was used to sterilize Lactobacillus fermentation.Compared with the traditional gas-driven gliding arc,this device has a simple structure and a more stable gliding arc.Simulation using COMSOL Multiphysics showed that adding permanent magnets can form a stable magnetic field,which is conducive to the formation of gliding arcs.Experiments on the discharge performance,ozone concentration,and sterilization effect were conducted using different power supply parameters.The results revealed that the MDRGA process can be divided into three stages:starting,gliding,and extinguishing.Appropriate voltage was the key factor for stable arc gliding,and both high and low voltages were not conducive to stable arc gliding and ozone production.In this experimental setup,the sterilization effect was the best at 6.6 kV.A high modulation duty ratio was beneficial for achieving stable arc gliding.However,when the duty ratio exceeded a certain value,the improvement in the sterilization effect was slow.Therefore,considering the sterilization effect and energy factors comprehensively,we chose 80%as the optimal modulation duty ratio for this experimental device. 展开更多
