In the humid oral environment,3Y-TZP ceramics always suffer from low-temperature degradation(LTD)for a long time,which results in the degradation of mechanical properties and catastrophic failure.The low-temperature d...In the humid oral environment,3Y-TZP ceramics always suffer from low-temperature degradation(LTD)for a long time,which results in the degradation of mechanical properties and catastrophic failure.The low-temperature degradation(LTD)and mechanical properties of low-cost tetravalent(Ge^(4+),Ti^(4+))element-doped 3Y-TZP were investigated by analysing grain boundary segregation in samples with deferent contents.The results show that GeO_(2) is superior to TiO_(2) in limiting LTD but results in lower flexural strength and fracture toughness when the content is≥1.5 mol%.This dilemma can be improved by adding only 0.1%-0.5 wt%Al_(2)O_(3),and the flexural strength and fracture toughness of 0.25 wt% Al_(2)O_(3) zirconia are then increased to 898 MPa and 4.68 MPa·m^(1/2) compared with 1Ge-3Y,respectively.This work is expected to provide an effective reference for the development and application of budget dental materials.展开更多
Tetracyclines are refractory pollutants that cause persistent harm to the environment and human health.Therefore,it is urgently necessary to develop methods to promote the efficient degradation and conversion of tetra...Tetracyclines are refractory pollutants that cause persistent harm to the environment and human health.Therefore,it is urgently necessary to develop methods to promote the efficient degradation and conversion of tetracyclines in wastewater.This report proposes a photobiocatalytic synergistic system involving the coupling of GeO_(2)/Zn-doped phosphotungstic acid hydrate/TiO_(2)(GeO_(2)/Zn-HPW/TiO_(2))-loaded photocatalytic optical hollow fibers(POHFs)and an algalebacterial biofilm.The GeO_(2)/Zn-HPW/TiO_(2) photocatalyst exhibits a broad absorption edge extending to 1000 nm,as well as high-efficiency photoelectric conversion and electron transfer,which allow the GeO_(2)/Zn-HPW/TiO_(2)-coated POHFs to provide high light intensity to promote biofilm growth.The resulting high photocatalytic activity rapidly and stably reduces the toxicity and increases the biodegradability of tetracycline-containing wastewater.The biofilm enriched with Salinarimonas,Coelastrella sp.,and Rhizobium,maintains its activity for the rapid photocatalytic degradation and biotransformation of intermediates to generate the O_(2) required for photocatalysis.Overall,the synergistic photocatalytic biofilm system developed herein provides an effective and efficient approach for the rapid degradation and conversion of water containing high concentrations of tetracycline.展开更多

The reflective coefficients (R) of glasses in the system Na2O - ZnO - GeO2-SiO2-PbO have been measured-the refractive index becomes less than unity at 1180 - 900cm-1 range because of the existence of anomalous dispersion. The optical losses of hollow waveguides were calculated,the predicted losses at 940cm-1are 0. 65 and 0. 081B/ m as the inner diameter of fiber is 0. 5 and 1. 0mm respectively. The glasses can be used as the cladding materials of hol-low waveguides for transmitting CO2 laser from the measurements of characteristic temperatures, coefficient of expansion and chemical durability.展开更多
