Methods: The acute irradiation injured mice wer...Objective: To explore the effects and possible mechanisms of Guiqi Oral Liquid (归芪口服液, GQOL) on the recovery of hematopoiesis in acute irradiation injured mice. Methods: The acute irradiation injured mice were randomly divided into 2 groups: the treated group and the control group, and also a normal control group was set up with 6 mice in it receiving no treatment. After the mice in the former two groups were irradiated by 6.0 Gy ^60Coγ-ray, every one of them was given 0.4 ml GQOL or saline in equal volume through a gastric tube twice a day for 14 days. On the 4th, 8th and 14th day after irradiation, the bone marrow mononuclear cells (BMMNC) and megakaryocytes in bone marrow tissues of the mice were counted, the proportion of hematopoietic tissues (by area) was measured, and the expression of adhesion molecules, CD44 and CD54, in bone marrow were estimated by immunochemistry. The colony forming unit of spleen (CFU-S) in the mice were counted on the 8th day after irradiation. Results: On the 4th, 8th, 14th day after irradiation, the count of BMMNC and megakaryocyte, and the proportion of hematopoietic tissues in the treated group were higher than those in the control group (P〈0.01 or P〈0.05). CD44 and CD54 expression in the treated group were higher than those in the control group on the 4th and 8th day (P〈0.01), but near normal on the 14th day (P〈0.01). On the 8th day, CFU-S count in the treated group was higher than that in the control group (P〈0.01). Conclusion: GQOL can regulate the expression of adhesion molecules, CD44 and CD54, in the bone marrow of the acute irradiation injured mice, which may be one of the mechanisms of GQOL in accelerating the early phase hematopoiesis recovery of mice.展开更多

The influence of initial concentration of copper in the aqueous feed phase, pH of external and internal aqueous phase, stirring speed, and concentration of extractant on the extraction rate was examined. The results obtained showed that practically all the copper content was removed from the acidic feed solution. The recovery of copper attained 96–100% and concentration ratios of about 40-fold could be achieved.展开更多

METHODS: Hepatic carcinoma cells were ...AIM: To establish the cell survival curve for primary hepatic carcinoma cells and to study the relationship between SF2 of primary hepatic carcinoma cells and radiosensitivity. METHODS: Hepatic carcinoma cells were cultured in vitro using 39 samples of hepatic carcinoma at stages Ⅱ-Ⅳ. Twenty-nine samples were cultured successfully in the fifth generation cells. After these cells were radiated with different dosages, the cell survival ratio and SF2 were calculated by clonogenic assay and SF2 model respectively. The relationship between SF2 and the clinical pathological feature was analyzed. RESULTS: Twenty-nine of thirty-nine samples were successfully cultured. After X-ray radiation of the fifth generation cells with 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 Gy, the cell survival rate was410, 36.5%, 31.0%, 26.8%, and 19%, respectively. There was a negative correlation between cell survival and irradiation dosage (r = -0.973, P〈0.05). SF2 ranged 0.28-0.78 and correlated with the clinical stage and pathological grade of hepatic carcinoma (P〈0.05). There was a positive correlation between SF2 and D0.5 (r = 0.773, P〈0.05). CONCLUSION: SF2 correlates with the clinical stage and pathological grade of hepatic carcinoma and is a marker for predicting the radiosensitivity of hepatic carcinomas.展开更多

Results: A54 peptide could target the liver-rumor tissue in vivo and adhere to several liver-rumor cells in vitro. FAM-labeled A54 peptides were localized on the membrane surface of liver-rumor cells. Conclusion: Synthesized A54 peptide obtained from in vivo phage display technology still kept special abilityto adhere liver-rumor cell in vivo and in vitro. Mulberry genotypes M5, S54 and Kosen were procured from mulberry germplasm bank, Department of Sericulture, Bangalore University. Juvenile twigs of mulberry genotypes were used for cuttings preparation. Newly prepared...Mulberry genotypes M5, S54 and Kosen were procured from mulberry germplasm bank, Department of Sericulture, Bangalore University. Juvenile twigs of mulberry genotypes were used for cuttings preparation. Newly prepared juvenile cuttings were irradiated with different doses of gamma rays (1 kR - 10 kR) from Co60 gamma unit. Propagation parameters like sprouting, rooting, survivability, plant height, number of branches, internodal distance and leaf area were recorded. Results revealed decline in growth parameters with the increase in gamma ray dosage (1 kR - 10 kR). Moderate dosages (4 kR - 7 kR) are the most competent range and height of the irradiated population significantly reduced with the increase in gamma rays dosage. Higher doses of gamma rays (8 kR - 10 kR) drastically reduced the number of branches. M5 and S54 showed marked improvement in plant height at 4 kR (155.14 cm) and 7 kR (147.86 cms) respectively compared to control. Morphologically, leaf mutants like enlarged (4 kR), curled (8 kR), mosaic (8kR) and biforked (9 kR) leaves were observed in gamma irradiated M5 genotype. Kosen exhibited small, crumpled, biforked and chlorophyll deficient leaves (8 kR - 10 kR). S54 exhibited boat shaped leaves with wrinkled texture (8 kR).展开更多

In this study, we established gonadotropin-releasing hormone/enhanced green fluorescent protein transgenic rats. Rats were injected with 1, 10, or 100 pM kisspeptin-10, a peptide derived from full-length kisspeptin, into the arcuate nucleus and medial preoptic area, and with the kJsspeptJn antagonist peptJde 234 into the lateral cerebral ventricle. The results of immunohistochemical staining revealed that pulsatile luteinizing hormone secretion was suppressed after injection of antagonist peptide 234 into the lateral cerebral ventricle, and a significant increase in luteinizing hormone level was observed after kisspeptin-10 injection into the arcuate nucleus and medial preoptic area. The results of an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay showed that luteinizing hormone levels during the first hour of kisspeptin-10 infusion into the arcuate nucleus were significantly greater in the 100 pM kisspeptin-10 group than in the 10 pM kisspeptin-10 group. These findings indicate that kisspeptin directly promotes gonadotropin-releasing hormone secretion and luteinizing hormone release in gonadotropin-releasing hormone/enhanced green fluorescent protein transgenic rats. The arcuate nucleus is a key component of the kisspeptin-G protein-coupled receptor 54 signaling pathway underlying regulating luteinizing hormone pulse secretion.展开更多

The needle can be directed in three directions, the first along the sciatic nerve; the second pointing to the genitals; and the third pointing to the anus.
