Regardless of whether it is a direct or indirect quotation, there are always two exchange rates, for example, £/$1.8040-1.8055 and $/DM1.6850-1.6860. In the two quotations, the smaller rates are the buying rates or the bid rates of the respective first currency, i.e., the pound sterling and the U.S. dollar respectively, while the bigger rates are the selling rates or the offered rates for the respective first currency.展开更多
