Objective: A series of new and practical branthytherapy Egis-equipment was invented (State Patent No.:95250233.X) and has been facilitated intralaritary branchytherapy for oral cavity carcinoma,in order to improve loc...Objective: A series of new and practical branthytherapy Egis-equipment was invented (State Patent No.:95250233.X) and has been facilitated intralaritary branchytherapy for oral cavity carcinoma,in order to improve local radiation dose and protect normal tissues.Methods: In accordance with the characteristic of Ir\+\{192\}, the plumbum blocks of different sizes with thickness of 0.6cm, 0.9cm and 1.5cm, and section in ""?""?" "?" "forms were designed and made. With a combined use of 4mm metal tube applicator of Modern Afterloading Machine, it can hold up 75%~95% radiation. A total of 11 patients with squamous cell carcinoma in oral cavity were given 2~6 times local radiation dose with DT10~36Gy, 5~8 weeks after external irradiation with the dose of DT40~70Gy given. Result: ① Of all the patients, no evident radiation injury was probed in mucosaes tissue behind the blocks, within the follow-up periods of three months. ②For disappearance of local carcinoma after full external radiation,it is more effective to give intralavitary branchytherapy dose above DT30Gy. ③Average local dosage is improved for DT20Gy with the equipment.Conclusion: This equipment is convenient and safe.The proper application of the equipment results in improved local dosage and local control rate, in well-protected normal展开更多
