As a result, the boundaries of all the remains there are ascertained and the Maoling Yi(茂陵邑,a village where the people who worked at Maoling Mausoleum at Western Han lived)is found.By core-sampling, there inside the mausoleum yard discovered: 63 pits enclosing the emperor’s tomb mound like spokes surrounding the hub; outside it, 115 pits situating at the west, southwest and northeast part, assumably distribute oppositely in southwest and northeast, and in a shape of try angle respectively. The Qin Garden (寝园)site being in northwest outside the mausoleum yard , is a rectangle with a width of 153 m and a length of 243 m, and is enclosed by rammed earth in four directions. The Maoling Yi locating at the area of Jingwangcun, Chengqiancun and Yujiazhuang villages, northeast to the mausoleum yard and being surrounded by four ditches, is in the try angle shape and has a length of 2459 m,a width of 1830 —3150 m and an area of 5536,500 square meters. The satellite tombs mainly are on the two sides of the shrine rode and east and west sides of Maoling Yi. Most tombs face to south. Around the mausoleum yard there found 6 architecture sites and 1 kiln site. The result of this sampling and surveying provides the protection and research on Wuding Maoling Mausoleum with a scientific basis.展开更多
