On this bases, the author reviewed this develop course from two aspects, one is the use of methods, the other is the study of methods. The paper says that we have experienced a promoting course in the use of methods from qualitative to quantitative, and then from quantitative to pay attention to qualitative methods again on a new level. On the study of methods, Chinese sociologists have been paying more attention to following topics, such as methodology, system of research methods, concept of survey research, Mao Zedongs survey methods, questionnaire method, sample methods, qualitative and quantitative methods and so on. At the end of the paper, the author made a further discussion about problems related with the advance of research methods.展开更多
