These girls, most of whom come from the rural counties of Sichuan, work very hard, and greatly impressed their Japanese employers with their diligence and the spirit of endurance. Their work experience in Japanese factories has not only broadened their outlook and thinking, but also changed their destiny, and laid a solid foundation for their future careers. After returning to China, some of the girls have been engaged as senior managers by the domestic clothing factories as well as by some joint-ventures, and some have run their own fashion making business. Up to 1997, more than 1000 girls have been sent to Japan by the Sichuan departments concerned.展开更多
