Gancu archaeology has gone through three stages, and since the 1950s, it has greatly developed with important achievements obtained in a series of researches. These include the basic establishment of a cultural developmental sequence from the Neolithic to the Bronze Age, and the discovery of Duke Qin's graveyard and numbers of Han period inscribed slips and tablets. Noteworthy accomplishments have also been got in grotto archaeology and the survey and study of cemeteries of Wei-Jin times and the Great Wall in different periods. In the coming future, Gansu archaeology should be pushed forward by perfecting the temporal and spatial frames of Neolithic to Bronze Age cultures, carrying out environmental and agricultural archaeology, and further studying the affiliation of cultures, metallurgical technology, cultural exchanges, the Zhou and Qin cultures and other priority subjects.展开更多
