The as-prepared CDs were covered with a lot of hydroxyls, possessed properties of good water-solubility, anti-photobleaching, salt tolerance, and low cytotoxicity, and had a fluorescence quantum yield (QY) of about 5.5%. The fluorescence of the hydroxyls-coated CDs could be selectively quenched by metal ions such as Cr3+, Al3+ and Fe3+, which is because these metals can easily combine with the hydroxyl groups on the surface of CDs and induce aggregation of hydroxyls-coated CDs. Experiments showed that the quenching of Cr3+ had a Sterm-Volmer constant of 1.03 × 107 M-1 with a liner range of 1.0-25.0 μM and detection limit of 60 nM (3σ).展开更多

Their monosaccharide compositions, relative molecular mass and structural characterization were determined by gas chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy methods. EW was hybrid l/k/v-carrageenan (701/17k/13v-car- rabiose), EH was mainly t-carrageenan, and EA was mainly α-1,4-Glucan (88%) but mixed with small amount of t-carrageenan (12%). The relative molecular mass ofEW, EH and EA was 480, 580 and 510kDa, respectively. The anti-influenza A (H1N1) virus activity of these three polysaccharides was evaluated using the Madin-Darby canine kidney cells model. EW showed good anti-H1N1 virus activity, its ICso was 276.5 μg mL-1, and the inhibition rate to H1N1 virus was 52% when its concentration was 250 μgmL-1. The ICs0 of t-carrageenan EH was 366.4 μgmL1, whereas EA showed lower anti-H1N1 virus activity (IC50〉430μgmL-1). Available data obtained give positive evidence that the hybrid carrageenan EW from Eueheuma denticulatum can be used as potential anti-H1N1 virus inhibitor in future.展开更多

Based on the defatted alga, the yields of the polysaccharide were 57.9%, 2.5% and 2.6%, respectively. Their monosaccharide compositions, average molecular weights and structural characters were determined by gas chromatography (GC), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) or ^13C-NMR spectroscopy. The results showed that GFW, GFH and GFA were all composed of D-galactose (Gal) and 3,6-anhydro-L-galactose (AnG), and particularly GFA also contained xylose (Xyl). The average molecular weights of GFW, GFH and GFA were 22.6 kD, 26.5 kD and 49.8 kD, respectively, with the respective sulfate content 31.2%, 25.1% and 22.7%. The data of FTIR and ^13C-NMR confirmed the sulfate ester location at C6 ofgalactose. It is concluded that all the three polysaecharides extracted from Gloiopeltisfurcata were sulfated galactans, two being sulfated-agarose, and one being xylose-containing sulfated galactan.展开更多

The phosphate solution were prepared artificially by adding certain quantities of KH2PO4 in water at the initial orthophosphate concentration of 5, 10 and 20 mg/L. While the adsorbent quantity was 1g of natural zeolite per 50 mL, aqueous solution NaOH IN and HCI IN solutions were used as pH regulators. The effect of equilibrium pH, adsorbent mass and contact time was studied. The results showed that natural zeolite adsorption efficiency was 99.18%, 99.33% and 99.02% (5, 10 and 20 mg/L), respectively, at pH of 12 and a contact time of 30 minutes at 298 K. Moreover, the isotherm can be used to evaluate the capacity and nature of the interaction between a sorbent and a sorbate. This work considers the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm. Based on the R2 of adsorption isotherm studies, the adsorption data for phosphate fitted well the Freundlich isotherm for natural zeolite (R^2=0.99), with multi-layer adsorption. The results are in good agreement with recent experimentl data.展开更多

The working principle of this device was investigated and it can be considered as a supercapacitor-battery hybrid energy storage system. Device performance was characterized by cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge-discharge testing. When using multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) as electrode support materials, a high pseudo-capacitance of 1280 F g -1 was obtained with the TEMPO nitroxide radical as the active material at a 1 mV s -1 scan rate. This was ~33 times larger than the inherent double layer capacitance of MWCNTs. The electrode material and active material dissolved in solution could potentially be substituted with similar materials. This simple design provides a new approach for fabricating high performance supercapacitor-battery hybrid energy storage devices.展开更多

In the present study, fourteen species of imidazolium-based ionic liquids were added into the NaOH (aq) to remove the mercaptans. The influences of anion species and cation alkyl chain length of the imidazolium-based ionic liquids on the performance of mercaptan removal from light oils have been discussed. The efficiency of extraction for mercaptans exhibited the order of [Ac]- 〉 [OH]- [Br]- 〉 [BF4]-. The longer alkyl chain imidazolium-based ionic liquids contributed to enhance desulfurization rate of l-butyl mercaptan. 100% desulfurization rate of l-butyl mercaptan was achieved by the anion of Ac- ionic liquids and NaOH (aq) at a volume ratio of 40:1 (V(oil]:Vfionic liouid)) and a short eouilibrium time within 10 min.展开更多
