This paper intends to examine whether peer editing,a very important component of the process approach to teaching writing,has any effect on writing apprehension over the course of a ten-week semester.Writing apprehens...This paper intends to examine whether peer editing,a very important component of the process approach to teaching writing,has any effect on writing apprehension over the course of a ten-week semester.Writing apprehension,as one of the important affective factors,is a commonly existing problem among the student writers.As a part of the process approach and one activity in collaborative learning,peer editing is incorporated in the writing instruction for the study.The analysis of research data shows that the treatment of peer editing in the writing instruction do have a significant effect on writing apprehension.This paper also suggests some implications for language teaching and learning,especially for English writing instruction,on understanding writing apprehension,writing process and the role of teachers in a writing class.展开更多
