A method was proposed for the determination of trace cadmium in Chinese medicine herb Thymus serpyllum L.by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry(GFAAS).A chemical modifier and its proper concentration,the i...A method was proposed for the determination of trace cadmium in Chinese medicine herb Thymus serpyllum L.by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry(GFAAS).A chemical modifier and its proper concentration,the influence factors including ashing and atomization temperatures,atomization time and coexisting ions were investigated.Under the optimum experimental conditions,the detection limit and the relative standard deviation of the method were 06 pg and 22%(n=11),respectively.The recovery was between 965% and 106%.The method is simple,rapid and accurate.A real sample Thymus serpyllum L.and a biological standard sample(GBW 08501)of Peach Leaves were analyzed for cadmium by this method to afford Satisfactory results.展开更多
A sample matrix-assisted chemical modification approach was developed for graphite furnace atomic Absorption spectrometric determination of bismuth in nickel-based alloy samples.Nickel was used to increase the pyrolys...A sample matrix-assisted chemical modification approach was developed for graphite furnace atomic Absorption spectrometric determination of bismuth in nickel-based alloy samples.Nickel was used to increase the pyrolysis and atomization temperature in the determination of bismuth,thus the matrix interference was alleviated.In addition,the nickel sample matrix also efficiently increased the sensitivity of bismuth.Macro constituents of nickel-based alloys,such as Cu,Fe and Al,caused minimal interference with the determination of bismuth.Under the optimized experimental conditions,the limit of detection(LOD) for Bi was found to be 1 μg L-1.Standard addition approach was used to calibrate the bismuth content in the nickel-based alloys to achieve the goal of sample matrix-assisted chemical modification.The proposed method features simplicity,rapidness,and high sensitivity.展开更多
