This problem is well known in the Western philosophical circles, since it involves the Western philosophers’ view on the nature of knowledge. The essay examines the Problem and its different solutions, such as internalist, externalist, quasi-internalist and pragmatic accounts of knowledge. The development of the Gettier Problem has shown that the correct analysis of knowledge ultimately depends on the correct analysis of the subject’s justification, and so, the core question of Western epistemology is what the nature of justification is rather than what knowledge is.展开更多
