Investigations show that the introdufion of negative index medium defect layer and the increase of the negative index value will result in an extension of the band gap. Moreover, by increasing the negative index, the width of defect layer and the numbers of period photonic crystal, the width of defect modes will be narrowed, which is advantaged to obtain optical filters with narrow band. Finally, the effects of absorption on the properties of band gap and on defect modes have been discussed.展开更多

The magnetic, transport and optical properties were studied. The ferromagnetic state at low temperature was demonstrated. Most of the grains in the samples will be unblocked when temperature is below 50K. The measured magneto-resistance at 4.8K is higher than 30%. This value is larger than any other reported data. The transport mechanism may come down to a combination of tunnelling conduction with the second-order hopping. Some small peaks on transmittance curves were found, the matter is still open.展开更多

For the A-site doping, two simple parameters, tolerance factor t and variance of the A-cation radius distribution s, can be used to characterize the magnetic/resistive phase diagram. For the B-site doping, the case is complicated due to the direct action to the center of double exchange. However, the dopant-size-induced local strain effect plays an important role in the physical properties besides the size mismatch between A- and B-site ions.展开更多
