Stress induced deformation in A p~ M p and concomitant shape recovery behavior of Cu 13.4Al 4.0Ni single crystals were studied. Abnormal high stress induced deformation exists in A p~ M p under the conditions of either heating with load or cooling with load. The recovered deformation is successively composed of four parts, the recoveries from superelasticity, normal reverse transformation, thermally activated reverse transformation of partially stabilized martensite and reverse transformation of stabilized martensite by over heating. With increasing cycling number, the recovery part from normal reverse transformation decreases, while that from reverse transformation of stabilized martensite by over heating increases, which shows a typical stabilization of martensite. 展开更多

用示差扫描量热仪(DSC),光学显微镜和拉伸试验研究了退火温度对形变处理态Ti-51.1Ni(原子分数,%)形状记忆合金相变和低温形变特性的影响。结果表明,随退火温度升高,合金冷却/加热时相变类型由A→R/M→R→A型向A→R→M/M→R→A型再向A→R... 用示差扫描量热仪(DSC),光学显微镜和拉伸试验研究了退火温度对形变处理态Ti-51.1Ni(原子分数,%)形状记忆合金相变和低温形变特性的影响。结果表明,随退火温度升高,合金冷却/加热时相变类型由A→R/M→R→A型向A→R→M/M→R→A型再向A→R→M/M→A(A-母相B2,R-R相,M-马氏体相)型转变,R相变温度和M相变热滞降低,M相变温度升高,R相变热滞变化不大,保持在6.5℃左右。在10℃变形时,400~550℃退火态合金呈现形状记忆效应(SME)+超弹性(SE)特性,600~700℃退火态合金呈现SE特性,随退火温度升高,合金由SME+SE向SE特性转变。合金的退火再结晶温度为590℃,在590~650℃退火后合金可获得50.83%的断裂应变值,塑变性能优良,成型加工温度可选定在590~650℃之间。在使用该合金制作能耗阻尼器及相关缓冲减震装置时退火处理温度可选择大于550℃;制作超弹性器件时,退火处理温度可选择低于400℃或高于600℃。 展开更多

Viscoelastic behavior of the non-Hooke deformation of amorphous PET film before yield was investigated in the temperature region 74-80.5 degreesC around the glass transition temperature. The film specimen was drawn to yield point followed by unloading to zero stress, then the residual deformation was held constant; while the subsequent evolution of the stress was recorded. An induction period was found in the course of stress evolution followed by a stress step-increase. The induction period decreases with increasing drawing temperature with an activation energy of 1.10 MJ/mol.K, which is attributed to the time needed for the relaxation of rubbery deformation through cooperative internal rotations. At temperatures lower than 74 degreesC, there is no stress increase or the induction period becomes too long to be observed. Thus the nature of anelasticity in the non-Hooke region before yielding is attributed to stress induced rubbery deformation. The experimental results are interpreted in terms of Perez' theological model of a series connected Hooks spring and a Voigt element consisting of a parallel connected elastic spring and a dashpot. 展开更多

Ni_(47)Ti_(44)Nb_(9)shape memory alloy(SMA)is a promising material in the aerospace field due to its wide transformation hysteresis.The application of shape memory effect depends on multistep thermomechan-ical loading,viz.,low-temperature deformation and subsequent heating to recovery.Low-temperature deformation prestrain plays a pivotal role in shape memory properties tailoring of SMA components.However,microstructure evolution and deformation mechanisms of Ni_(47)Ti_(44)Nb_(9)SMA subjected to vari-ous prestrain levels are still unclear.To this end,microstructure evolution and shape memory behaviors of Ni_(47)Ti_(44)Nb_(9)alloy subjected to multistep thermomechanical loading with prestrain levels of 8%-16%at-28℃(M_(s)+30℃)were investigated.The results demonstrate that the stress-strain curve of the specimen exhibits four distinct stages at a maximal prestrain of 16%.Whereas stageⅡand stageⅢend at prestrains of∼8%and∼12%,respectively.In stageⅡ,the stress-induced martensitic transformation is accompanied by the dislocation slip of the NiTi matrix andβ-Nb inclusions.In stageⅢ,in addition to the higher density of dislocations and further growth of stress-induced martensite variants(SIMVs),(001)compound twins are introduced as a result of the(001)deformation twinning in stress-induced martensite.More{20-1}martensite twins are gradually introduced in stageⅣ.Correspondingly,after subsequent unloading and heating,a higher density of{114}austenite twins form in the specimen with a larger prestrain of 16%.With increasing prestrain from 8%to 16%,the recoverable strainε_(re)^(T)upon heating increases first and then decreases.Theε_(re)^(T)obtains a maximum of 7.03%at 10%prestrain and de-creases to 6.17%at 16%prestrain.The increase ofε_(re)^(T)can be attributed to the formation of new SIMVs,the further growth of existing SIMVs,and the recoverable(001)compound twins.While the decrease ofε_(re)^(T)is mainly associated with the irrecoverable strain by{20−1}martensite twins.The effect ofβ-Nb inclusions o 展开更多

The face-centered cubic structure(fcc)and its deformation behaviors,as well as the distinctive role of fcc-Ti in nanocrystallization in TC17 subjected to high energy shot peening(HESP),were investigated by using comprehensive high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM).The results showed that there was a stress-induced fcc-Ti in TC17 with a lattice constant of 0.420–0.433 nm and the B-type orientation relationship between the hcp-Ti and the fcc-Ti as[2-1-10]_(hcp)//[-110]_(fcc)and(0001)_(hcp)//(111)_(fcc),which was accomplished by the gliding of Shockley partial dislocations with Burgers vector of 1/3[01-10]on the basal plane.The deformation twinning dominated the subsequent deformation of fcc-Ti,producing two types of{111}<11-2>twins with different characteristics.Among them,the I-type twin with complete structure was generated by successive gliding of Shockley partial dislocations with the same Burgers vector of 1/6[11-2].In contrast,the cooperative slip of three Shockley partials,whose sum of Burgers vectors was equal to zero,produced the II-type twin with zero net macroscopic strain.And then,the emission of Shockley partial with the Burgers vector of 1/6[11-2]on every three(111)fccplanes resulted in the formation of a 9R structure.Due to the dissociation effect of lamellar fcc-Ti and the superior deformation ability of fcc structure,the occurrence of fcc-Ti effectively promoted surface nanocrystallization of TC17. 展开更多

The plastic deformation of garnet in coesite bearing eclogite, quartz eclogite and garnet amphibolite of the UHPM complex in Yingshan County in the Dabie Mountains has been studied. The stress generated by the strong tectonic movement was an important component of the total pressure that resulted in the formation of the eclogite in the Dabie UHPM zone. The three dimensional tectonic principal stresses and additional tectonic stress induced hydrostatic pressure [ p s=( σ 1+ σ 2+ σ 3)/3] are reconstructed according to the differential stress and the strain ratio ( α ) of the garnet in the minor coesite bearing eclogite of the Yingshan County. Then the gravity induced hydrostatic pressure ( p g) is calculated following the equation p minus p s, where p is estimated to be 2.8 GPa based on the quartz coesite geobarmeter. Therefore, the thickness of the rock column overlying the coesite bearing eclogite in the Ying shan County is determined ≥32 km. This estimation, significantly different from ≥100 km, the previous one obtained solely based on the weight/specific weight ratio (W/SW), offers a proper explanation for the puzzle that no tracer of the addition of mantle derived material has been found in the Dabie UHPM zone during the process of UHPM, although a number of researchers claim that this process took place at the depth of the mantle (≥100 km). It is concluded that attention should be paid to the additional tectonic stress induced hydrostatic pressure in the study of UHPM zones. 展开更多
