While most of the studies consider the environment as an indicator and catalyst for the protagonists' tragedy, Foucault's philosophical theory concerning the Heterotopia actually provides us with a novel insight into the significance of the environment description in this story. In this perspective, the surroundings are not merely a physical existence entirely separated from human perceptive, but rather a synchronic space network where different spaces are intertwined and interlocked together.展开更多
