The criterion of least product relative error(LPRE) is extended to the varying coefficient multiplicative regression model by kernel smoothing techniques. Consistency and asymptotic normality of the proposed estimator are established. Some numerical simulations are carried out to assess the performance of the proposed estimator. Depth from defocus is one technology for depth estimation.We estimate particle depth information from two defocused images captured simultaneously by two coaxial cameras with different imaging distances.The images are...Depth from defocus is one technology for depth estimation.We estimate particle depth information from two defocused images captured simultaneously by two coaxial cameras with different imaging distances.The images are processed with the Fourier transform to obtain the characteristic parameter(i.e.,the standard deviation of the relative blur kernel of these two defocused images).First,we theoretically analyze the functional relationship between the object depth and the standard deviation or variation of the relative blur kernel.Then,we verify the relationship experimentally.We analyze the influence of particle size,window size and image noise on the calibration curves using both numerical simulations and experiments.We obtain the depth range and accuracy of this measurement system experimentally.For the verification experiments,we use a sample of glass microbeads and the irregularly-shaped dust particles on a microscope slide.Both of these experiments present a suitable depth measurement result.Finally,we apply the measuring system to the depth estimation of drops from a small anti-fogging spray.The results show that our system and image processing algorithm are robust for different types of particles,facilitating the in-line three-dimensional positioning of particles.展开更多
Based on isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantification(iTRAQ)technology,the proteome of grains of a maize cultivar Huangzao 4 under drought stress at grain filling stage was analyzed.The results show that und...Based on isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantification(iTRAQ)technology,the proteome of grains of a maize cultivar Huangzao 4 under drought stress at grain filling stage was analyzed.The results show that under drought stress,438 proteins were differentially expressed in the maize grains during grain filling.Among them,200 were up-regulated and 238 were down-regulated.The gene ontology(GO)analysis shows that the biological processes in which differential proteins are more involved are cellular processes,metabolic processes and single biological processes;proteins in the cell component category are mainly distributed in cells,cell parts and organelles;and the proteins the molecular function category mainly possess catalytic activity and binding function.Differentially expressed proteins classified by COG are mainly involved in protein post-translational modification and transport,molecular chaperones,general functional genes,translation,ribosomal structure,biosynthesis,energy production and transformation,carbohydrate transport and metabolism,amino acid transport and metabolism,etc.The subcellular structure of the differentially expressed proteins is mainly located in the cell chloroplast and cytosol.The proportions are 35.01%and 30.21%respectively.KEGG metabolic pathway enrichment analysis shows that the differentially expressed proteins are mostly involved in antibiotic biosynthesis,microbial metabolism in different environments,and endoplasmic reticulum protein processing;the metabolic pathways with higher enrichment are the carbon fixation pathway and estrogen signaling pathway of prokaryotes;and the higher enrichment and greater significance are in the tricarboxylic acid cycle,carbon fixation of photosynthetic organisms and proteasome.The results of this study preliminarily reveal the adaptive mechanism of maize grains in response to drought stress during grain filling,providing a theoretical reference for maize drought-resistant molecular breeding.展开更多
The problem of predicting continuous scalar outcomes from functional predictors has received high levels of interest in recent years in many fields,especially in the food industry.The k-nearest neighbor(k-NN)method of...The problem of predicting continuous scalar outcomes from functional predictors has received high levels of interest in recent years in many fields,especially in the food industry.The k-nearest neighbor(k-NN)method of Near-Infrared Reflectance(NIR)analysis is practical,relatively easy to implement,and becoming one of the most popular methods for conducting food quality based on NIR data.The k-NN is often named k nearest neighbor classifier when it is used for classifying categorical variables,while it is called k-nearest neighbor regression when it is applied for predicting noncategorical variables.The objective of this paper is to use the functional Near-Infrared Reflectance(NIR)spectroscopy approach to predict some chemical components with some modern statistical models based on the kernel and k-Nearest Neighbour procedures.In this paper,three NIR spectroscopy datasets are used as examples,namely Cookie dough,sugar,and tecator data.Specifically,we propose three models for this kind of data which are Functional Nonparametric Regression,Functional Robust Regression,and Functional Relative Error Regression,with both kernel and k-NN approaches to compare between them.The experimental result shows the higher efficiency of k-NN predictor over the kernel predictor.The predictive power of the k-NN method was compared with that of the kernel method,and several real data sets were used to determine the predictive power of both methods.展开更多
