This one is formulated as a mixed boundary value problem for the three-dimensional Helmholtz equation with Dirichlet (Neumann) boundary condition on the cone surface. The diffracted field is sought as expansion of unknown velocity potential in series of eigenfunctions for each region of the existence of sound pressure. The solution of the problem then is reduced to the infinite set of linear algebraic equations (ISLAE) of the first kind by means of mode matching technique and orthogonality properties of the Legendre functions. The main part of asymptotic of ISLAE matrix element determined for large indexes identifies the convolution type operator amenable to explicit inversion. This analytical treatment allows one to transform the initial diffraction problem into the ISLAE of the second kind that can be readily solved by the reduction method with desired accuracy depending on a number of truncation. All these determine the analytical regularization method for solution of wave diffraction problems for conical scatterers. The boundary transition to soft (rigid) disc is considered. The directivity factors, scattering cross sections, and far-field diffraction patterns are investigated in both soft and rigid cases whereas the main attention in the near-field is focused on the rigid case. The numerically obtained results are compared with those known for the disc.展开更多

Based on the large-deformation theory of elasticity, stress analysis of optical fiber free end has been made and balance equation of infinitesimal fiber is deduced, then deformation equation is derived by substituting terminal conditions. On condition that only axial tensile force exists, approximate curve equation has been built in small angle deformation scope. The comparison of tangent point longitudinal coordinate result between theory and approximation gives constant of integration, and expression with tangent point as origin of coordinate is readjusted. Analyzing the winding parameters of an example, it is clear that the horizontal distance from the highest point of wheel to fiber tangent point has millimeter order of magnitude and significant difference with fiber tension variation, and maintains invariant when wheel radius changes. The height of tension and accurate position of tangent point are defined for proper fiber guide. For application to fiber optic gyroscope, spiral-disc winding method and nonideal deformation of straddle section are analyzed, and then spiral-disc quadrupole pattern winding method has been introduced and realized by winding system. The winding results approve that the winding model is applicable.展开更多

MethodsThe PCR products of 4096 human genes were spotted onto a kind of chemical-material-coated-glass slides. The total RNAs were isolated from the tissues. Both the mRNAs from the degeneration and normal lumbar intervertebral disc in humans were reversely transcribed to the cDNAs, which used as the hybridization probes with the incorporations of fluorescent dUTP. The mixed probes were then hybridized to the cDNA microarray. After high-stringent washing, the cDNA microarray was scanned for the fluorescent signals and analyzed with computer image analysis. ResultsAmong the 4096 targets, there were 706 genes whose expression levels differed between the degeneration and normal lumbar intervertebral disc in all cases, comprising 298 up-regulated and 358 down-regulated ones. ConclusionDNA microarray technology is an effective technique in screening for differently expressed genes between the degeneration and normal lumbar intervertebral disc. Cell apoptosis plays an important role in the process of lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration.展开更多
