Second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency has been obse...Guanidinium trifluoroacetate (GTFA), a semi-organic non-linear optical material with molecular formula C3H6F3N3O2, has been synthesized at ambient temperature. Second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency has been observed in this crystal though it crystallizes in centrosymmetric space group. Bulk single crystal of GTFA with a size of 22 x 7 x 2mm3 is successfully grown by submerged seed solution method. The grown crystals of GTFA have been subjected to various characterization studies such as X-ray diffraction, CHNS, FTIR analysis, UV-Vis spectrum, TGA/DTA, powder SHG test, laser damage threshold and microhardness studies.展开更多

The optical parametric oscillators based on fun – out PPLN and bulk crystal AgGaS2 with a two-pass pumping are developed. Wide tunable OPO is pumped by compact nanosecond Nd: YLF laser. Pulse duration is 5 - 7 ns, maximum pulse energy is 1.5 mJ at a frequency of 100-2000 Hz. OPO lasing threshold is 10 - 16 mJ/cm2 at the spectral range 2.2 - 4 μm for fun – out PPLN OPO and 12 - 20 mJ/cm2 at the spectral range 4 - 7.5 μm for AgGaS2 OPO. Absorption spectra of gaseous mixtures (CH4, C3H8, C2H6, C2H4 and CO2) and human’s breath were studied.展开更多
Benzoyl glycine (BG) is a promising organic nonlinear optical (NLO) crystal, whose second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency is much higher than that of KDP (potassium dihydrogen phosphate). Single crystals ...Benzoyl glycine (BG) is a promising organic nonlinear optical (NLO) crystal, whose second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency is much higher than that of KDP (potassium dihydrogen phosphate). Single crystals of pure, Cu2+ and Cd2+ doped BG were grown by slow evaporation technique. Optically transparent and defect free single crystals of size up to 10 mm×15 mm×10 mm were harvested in a period of 40-60 days. The growth conditions of pure and doped crystals of BG were optimized and the grown crystals were confirmed by single crystal XRD (X-ray diffraction). The grown crystals were characterized by FTIR (Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy), optical absorption and microhardness studies. The microhardness studies confirm that BG has a moderate VHN (Vickers hardness number) value in comparison to the.other organic NLO crystals. The efficiency of frequency doubling was measured for the using Nd:YAG laser and the results were discussed.展开更多

The range of optical transmission was determined by recording UV-Vis-NIR spectrum. Thermal properties were investigated by DTA and TGA analyses.
