Blast test results show that the SDOF systems are accurate in predicting the failure mode of the slab under blast loads by incorporating the effects of the strain rate effect caused by rapid load application. Based on different damage criteria, pressure-impulse (P-I) diagrams of the two failure modes were analyzed with the SDOF systems. The effects of span length, concrete strength, and reinforcement ratio of the slab on the P-I diagram were also investigated. Results indicate that a slab tends to fail in direct shear mode when it is of a smaller span length and tends to fail in flexure mode when it is of a larger span length. With the increase of the concrete strength or reinforced ratio, both the flexure and shear capacity increase. Based on numerical results, a simplified method and a semi analytical equation for deriving the P-I diagram are proposed for different failure modes and damage levels.展开更多

The corresponding reaction energies, the structures of the transition states and the activation energies were determined. Calculations with and without dipole correction were both studied to get an understanding of the effect of the dipole moment on the adsorption and reaction of water on dipole surface Cu2O(100). When dipole correction was added, the adsorption energies of H2O on different sites generally decreased. The calculated activation barriers for HxO (x = 1, 2) dehydrogenation are 0.42 eV (1.01 eV without the dipole correction) and 1.86 eV, respectively, including the zero point energy correction. The first dehydrogenation outcome is energetically the most stable product.展开更多

The proposed graphene stratified slab consists of alternating dielectric layers and graphene sheets, and is sandwiched between a prism and another semi-infinite medium. Optical response and field distribution are determined by the transfer matrix method with the surface current density boundary condition.Multiple resonant excitations appear on the angular reflection spectrum, and are analyzed theoretically via the phase-matching condition. Furthermore, the effects of the system parameters are investigated. Among them, the Fermi levels can tune the corresponding resonances independently. The proposed concept can be engineered for promising applications, including angular selective or multiplex filters, multiple channel sensors, and directional delivery of energy.展开更多

The beam quality factors M2 in the unstable and stable directions are 1.35 and 1.31, respectively. 15 μJ picosecond pulses at the central wavelength of 355 nm are generated through third harmonic generation(THG) by using two Li B3 O5(LBO) crystals, in order to get better processing efficiency on polycrystalline diamonds. The high pulse energy and beam quality of these ultraviolet(UV) picosecond pulses are confirmed by latter experiments of material processing on polycrystalline diamonds. This scheme which combines the advantages of the all PM fiber mode-locked laser and the solid-slab amplifier enables compact, robust and chirped pulse amplification-free amplification with high power picosecond pulses.展开更多
