However, the usefulness of β-CyD is limited owing to its low aqueous solubility whereas we found that its apparent high solubility was evident in some injectable solvents including 2-pyrrolidone(PYR), Nmethyl pyrrolidone(NMP) and dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO). Therefore, in the present study, the physicochemical properties of the 30–60% w/w β-CyD in PYR, NMP and DMSO were investigated such as viscosity, water resistant, matrix formation rate and syringeability. The higher the concentration of β-CyD resulted in the increased viscosity and the higher force and energy of syringeability. β-CyD in PYR gave the highest viscosity which contributed to the lowest syringeability while β-CyD in DMSO exhibited the highest syringeability. The β-CyD in DMSO and NMP exhibited the higher rate of matrix formation. β-CyD in PYR showed the highest water resistant for phase separation while β-CyD in NMP gave the faster de-mixing rate compared to that from PYR. The difference in physicochemical properties of β-CyD dried ppts studied by scanning electron microscope(SEM), differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), X-ray diffraction(XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR) and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) revealed that there was partial complexation of β-CyD with respective solvents. Both solution and precipitate characteristic properties will be useful for using β-CyD in further investigation as matrix material dissolved in the injectable vehicles as the in situ forming gel for periodontitis treatment.展开更多

Despite the challenge of having high hiding capacity like other media watermarking, still audios are likely candidates for data hiding due to their possible capabilities of achieving impressive robustness and protection against online music piracy and content identification. In this paper, we propose efficient audio watermarking embedding and extracting techniques, which mainly use Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Singular Value Decomposition (SVD), in which a new matrix formation of details sub-bands is proposed. Additionally, massive experimental work was conducted to investigate the contributions of operating different watermark intensities and multiple levels of DWT to our proposed techniques. Two performance objectives are employed in this work which involve imperceptibility and robustness. To further boost the imperceptibility, we incorporate the code assignment method to our techniques that do outperform what are closely connected in the literature.展开更多

Methods The articular chondrocytes isolated from rats were treated with various concentrations of rmGDF-5, and the growth of chondrocytes measured by MTT assay, the cellular cartilage matrices formation detected sulfated glycosaminoglycan by Alcian blue staining and type Ⅱcollagen by RT-PCR. Results After 7 days culture, MTT assay showed that GDF-5 enhanced the growth of chondrocytes in a dose-dependent manner, RT-PCR showed that GDF-5 clearly induced the synthesis of type Ⅱ collagen because of the col2a1 mRNA band more and more strong in a dose-dependent. Chondrocytes were cultured with GDF-5 for 14 days, the intensity of Alcian blue staining was greatly enhanced, especially, at a high concentration of 1000ng/mL, and GDF-5 enhanced the accumulation of the Alcian blue-stainable material in a concentration-dependent manner and in a does-dependent manner. Conclusion GDF-5 enhanced the growth of mature articular chondrocytes, and stimulated the cellular cartilage matrices formation in mono-layer culture.展开更多
