试验模拟了Cd,Pb污染土壤,加入石灰、粉煤灰等浸出毒性,试验结果表明,加入质量分数为5%的石灰后,浸出液中的Cd,Pb浸出浓度最低,比模拟污土样品分别降低85.5%,45.2%,其它处理样品的浸出浓度和浸出率都较高,处理效果不理想... 试验模拟了Cd,Pb污染土壤,加入石灰、粉煤灰等浸出毒性,试验结果表明,加入质量分数为5%的石灰后,浸出液中的Cd,Pb浸出浓度最低,比模拟污土样品分别降低85.5%,45.2%,其它处理样品的浸出浓度和浸出率都较高,处理效果不理想。Cd,Pb污染土壤进入生活垃圾填埋场之前,添加少量石灰做预处理,是一种较好的方法。另外,浸提刺pH值对Cd,Pb的浸出影响很大。在浸提剂1#(pH值为4.93±0.05)和浸提刺2#(pH值为2.64±0.05)2种浸提剂下,Cd浸出浓度相差约30~40倍,Pb的浸出浓度相差约10~20倍。 展开更多

Many construction and post-construction problems have been reported in the literature when saline soils have been used without understanding of their abnormal behavior,especially their inferior bearing capacity in the natural condition.The strength of these soils further decreases on soaking.Saline soil deposits cover extensive areas in central Iran and are associated with geotechnical problems such as excessive differential settlement,susceptibility to strength loss and collapse upon wetting.Because of these characteristics,some of the roads constructed on saline soils in Taleghan area have exhibited deterioration in the form of raveling,cracking and landslides.The main objective of this work is to improve the load-bearing capacity of pavements constructed on Taleghan saline soils using lime and micro silica.Soil samples from Hashtgerd-Taleghan road were collected and tested for improving their properties using lime and micro silica at different dosages ranging from 0 to 6%.The load-bearing capacity of stabilized soil mixtures was evaluated using California Bearing Ratio(CBR) and unconfined compressive strength tests.The test results indicate that the lime improves the performance of soil significantly.The addition of 2% lime with 3% micro silica has satisfied the strength-deformation requirements.Therefore,improved soil can be used as a good subbase in flexible pavements. 展开更多

This study attempted to investigate the potential of sugarcane press mud(PM) as a secondary additive in conjunction with lime for the stabilization of an expansive soil.The physico-mechanical properties of an expansive soil,such as plasticity,shrink-swell behavior,unconfined compressive strength(UCS),mineralogical and microstructural characteristics were investigated.The expansive soil was stabilized at its optimum lime content(7%) for producing maximum strength,and was modified with four different quantities of PM in small dosages(0.25%-2%).Cylindrical soil samples,38 mm in diameter and 76 mm in height,were cast and cured for varying periods to evaluate the strength of the amended soil.The spent samples after strength tests were further used for determination of other properties.The test results revealed that PM modification led to a substantial improvement in 7-d strength and noticeable increase in 28-d strength of the lime-stabilized soil(LSS).The addition of PM does not cause any detrimental changes to the shrink-swell properties as well as plasticity nature of the stabilized soil,despite being a material of organic origin.Mineralogical investigation revealed that the formation of calcium silicate hydrate(CSH) minerals,similar to that of pure lime stabilization with only the type of mineral varying due to the modification of PM addition,does not significantly alter the microstructure of the LSS except for superficial changes being noticed. 展开更多

The present study examines the effect of stabilization on the geo-environmental properties of crude oil contaminated kaolin clay.Lime and cement were mixed in a ratio of 1:2 and added to the simulated crude oil contaminated kaolin clay at different percentages(5%,10%,15%,and 20%)as a stabilizing binder.Parameters investigated include consistency limits,unconfined compressive strength(UCS),and direct shear,and compressibility and leaching characteristics of the untreated and stabilized soils.The experimental testing reveals a decrease in the consistency limits with addition of the stabilizing binder.Maximum UCS values occurred for 15%cement-lime stabilized kaolin clay at different curing periods(i.e.0 d,7 d,14 d,and 28 d).By increasing the cement-lime content from 5%to 15%,the UCS values of the stabilized clay increase from 185 kPa to 350 kPa and from 785 kPa to 1160 kPa for uncured and 28 dcured samples,respectively.Both the compression and recompression indices of the contaminated kaolin clay from the consolidation test decrease by 40%and 50%,respectively,with 20%stabilizing binder addition.The leachability of the contaminated clay also reduces with incorporation of cement and lime.According to the scanning electron microscope(SEM)test,addition of stabilizing binder transforms the dispersed structure of contaminated kaolin clay into a knitted flocculated structure.The study shows the effectiveness of cement-lime mix in stabilizing the contaminated kaolin clay and the possible use of stabilized contaminated kaolin clay as an alternative construction material. 展开更多

In this paper the use of lime stabilized subgrade for low volume roads in two regions with high mountains and different frost penetration conditions in Türkiye was investigated in terms of design,performance,and cost.Pavements on unstabilized and stabilized subgrade were designed for two regions(Izmir and Van),covering all climate variations.The resilient modulus of the lime stabilized subgrade with different soil pulverization levels for non-freezing and freezing conditions were taken from a previous laboratory study.Frost effects were considered in pavement design using two different approaches,including limited subgrade frost penetration method and reduced subgrade strength method.Detailed application and evaluation were performed for all steps.Lime stabilized subgrades significantly reduced the thickness of base courses,and the benefit of lime stabilization was highly dependent on soil pulverization level.A detailed cost analysis on the unstabilized and stabilized cases found that the use of lime stabilization in the subgrade provided significant initial cost savings.Comparative analysis by using the AASHTO(1993)method and KENPAVE software,and quantity effect of soil pulverization level on the performance of low volume roads from a service life perspective,show that subgrade resilient modulus can be estimated.It is also possible to make correct performance estimation in the field.The results of the study show that lime stabilization is a good solution for low volume roads in the mountainous regions of Türkiye. 展开更多

【目的】赤泥是氧化铝生产过程中产生的工业废弃物,极易造成地下水污染、土地盐碱化等问题,赤泥的再生利用成为亟待解决的难题。此外,湿度(即干湿)和温度(即冻融)是影响道路材料性能的主要因素。【方法】尝试使用石灰激发赤泥(添加或不... 【目的】赤泥是氧化铝生产过程中产生的工业废弃物,极易造成地下水污染、土地盐碱化等问题,赤泥的再生利用成为亟待解决的难题。此外,湿度(即干湿)和温度(即冻融)是影响道路材料性能的主要因素。【方法】尝试使用石灰激发赤泥(添加或不添加氢氧化钠)用于固化路基土,通过质量、体积监测、无侧限抗压强度试验、核磁共振试验及X射线衍射试验研究了固化土在干湿、冻融循环作用下的物理、力学性能和微观结构特性。【结果】结果显示:氢氧化钠的掺入使固化土强度提高约204.6%~343.6%;石灰-赤泥固化土的抗压强度随干湿、冻融循环次数的增加而降低;干湿、冻融循环作用后固化土的质量损失率和体积变化率分别在0.52%~2.06%和0.62%~1.99%之间;干湿循环会降低土体的孔隙体积,而冻融循环使土体大尺寸孔隙体积增加;石灰-赤泥固化土的主要水化产物是水化硅酸钙(C-S-H)。【结论】结果表明:石灰-赤泥固化土耐干湿、冻融侵蚀的能力优于纯石灰固化土,干湿、冻融循环作用后石灰-赤泥固化土的强度折损率、质量损失率和体积变化率均明显低于纯石灰固化土。石灰-赤泥固化土的水化产物(C-S-H)能够提高土体耐干湿、冻融侵蚀的能力。研究成果能够为赤泥在道路工程中的应用提供可靠依据。 展开更多

An experimental program was undertaken to study the individual and admixed effects of lime and fly ash on the geotechnical characteristics of expansive soil.Lime and fly ash were added to the expansive soil at 4%-6% and 40%-50% by dry weight of soil,respectively.Testing specimens were determined and examined in chemical composition,grain size distribution,consistency limits,compaction,CBR,free swell and swell capacity.The effect of lime and fly ash addition on reducing the swelling potential of an expansive soil is presented.It is revealed that a change of expansive soil texture takes place when lime and fly ash are mixed with expansive soil.Plastic limit increases by mixing lime and liquid limit decreases by mixing fly ash,which decreases plasticity index.As the amount of lime and fly ash is increased,there are an apparent reduction in maximum dry density,free swell and swelling capacity under 50 kPa pressure,and a corresponding increase in the percentage of coarse particles,optimum moisture content and CBR value.Based on the results,it can be concluded that the expansive soil can be successfully stabilized by lime and fly ash. 展开更多

利用污泥-石灰高效混合设备联合绝热污泥仓制备石灰质量百分数为5%、10%、15%的稳定化污泥,在实验室条件下对细菌总数、大肠菌值进行测定,并对pH值、泥体温度和养护时间等影响因素进行了分析。结果表明:添加石灰后污泥的pH值能够达到12... 利用污泥-石灰高效混合设备联合绝热污泥仓制备石灰质量百分数为5%、10%、15%的稳定化污泥,在实验室条件下对细菌总数、大肠菌值进行测定,并对pH值、泥体温度和养护时间等影响因素进行了分析。结果表明:添加石灰后污泥的pH值能够达到12及以上,泥温升高到40~55℃,采用绝热污泥仓对污泥养护处理2h后,泥体温度达到47.6~65.4℃;污泥中添加石灰,可培养细菌总量由原泥平均菌落数2.94×108 CFU/g降低到3.75×104 CFU/g,大肠菌值(MPN值)则由原泥的每克1.19×10-8增加到每克0.137以上;灭菌效果随着石灰投加质量百分数的增加而加强,与较高的石灰投加质量百分数保证较高的pH、获得更高的泥体温度及渗透压有关;保持较高温度情况下对石灰稳定化污泥进行养护处理对石灰的灭菌效果具有促进作用。该技术可以增加污泥的pH、温度,显著降低污泥细菌总量和大肠杆菌数量,相对于单独污泥石灰处理能更好的实现污泥无害化、卫生化的目的。 展开更多

This study aimed at the application of cement and a kind of industrial wastes, i.e. granulated blast furnace slag, on stabilization of surplus soft clay. The results showed that the cement and slag can successfully stabilize Ariake clays even though this high organic clay fails to be stabilized by lime and cement. Addition of slag in cement for stabilization induces higher strength than cement alone for longer curing time. The application of the cement with slag is more suitable than cement alone for stabilization because of economical consideration. 展开更多

The present study is inscribed within the framework of the amelioration of the soils of the Santchou plain for employment as pavement subgrade. The bearing capacity proposed by these soils at their respective optimum dry densities is relatively small, although most of these experimental California Bearing Ratio (CBR) values of the studied soils are more important than the ones prescribed by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials Classification system (AASHTO) for A5, A6, and A7 types. The stabilization of this soils with lime has been chosen to improve the bearing capacity and by association, their resilient modulus. The results of this study show that the increase of lime content is not proportional with the increase of the expected mechanical performances. In fact, the literature explains that when the lime content arrives at an optimum, the mechanical parameters no longer increase, but decrease significantly. After this optimum, the soil stabilization no longer shows advantages in the increase of geo-mechanical properties of soils. 展开更多
