Laserstructure light emitted by the semiconductor la...An automatic seam tracking system used in submerged arc welding is presented.In the system, the linear CCD vision sensor is installed in front of the welding torch. Laserstructure light emitted by the semiconductor laser irradiates on a slant to work-piece surface andforms a structure light strip on work-piece surface. Scatter light of the strip is received bylinear CCD on top of the seam and the image information of seam can be obtained. By way of imageprocessing and applying Fuzzy-P controller in tracking process, automatic seam tracking has beenrealized accurately. Anti-disturbing ability of the system to work-piece surface status has beenenhanced largely by classified microadjustment of torch height.展开更多

Light scatter in KDP crystal was detected with the ultramicroscopic method. The light scatter in KDP crystal was aggravated when pyro-phosphate was doped into the growth solution, which was distributed ununiformly in prism and pyramidal sectors of KDP crystal. Different effects of pyrophosphate on prism and pyramidal sectors of KDP crystal can explain this case. The transmission in this crystal was measured, showing that pyrophosphate affects the transmission evidently.展开更多

In this paper, KDP crystals were grown from an aqueous solution doped with different concentration of Fe^3+ dopant by traditional temperaturereduction method and "point-seed" rapid growth method. Furthermore, we examined the light scatter and measured the transmission of these KDP crystals. It is found that the dopant of Fe^3+ ion can improve the stability of the KDP growth solution when its concentration is less than 30 ppm. The effects of Fe^3+ ion on the growth habit and optical properties of KDP crystal are also obvious.展开更多
We investigated the interaction between DNA and hexammine cobalt III [Co(NH3)6]3+ by a simple molecular combing method and dynamic light scattering. The average extension of A- DNA-YOYO-1 complex is found to be 20....We investigated the interaction between DNA and hexammine cobalt III [Co(NH3)6]3+ by a simple molecular combing method and dynamic light scattering. The average extension of A- DNA-YOYO-1 complex is found to be 20.9μm, about 30% longer than the contour length of the DNA in TE buffer (10 mmol/L Tris, 1 mmol/L EDTA, pH=8.0), due to bis-intercalation of YOYO-1. A multivalent cation, hexammine cobalt, is used for DNA condensation. We find that the length of DNA-[Co(NH3)6]3+ complexes decrease from 20.9 μm to 5.9μm as the concentration of the [Co(NH3)6]3+ vary from 0 to 3 μmol/L. This observation provides a direct visualization of single DNA condensation induced by hexammine cobalt. The results from the molecular combing studies are supported by dynamic light scattering investigation, where the average hydrodynamic radius of the DNA complex decreases from 203.8 nm to 39.26 nm under the same conditions. It shows that the molecular combing method is feasible for quantitative conformation characterization of single bio-macromolecules.展开更多
