The effects of the init...By using GDS dynamic hollow cylinder torsional apparatus, a series of cyclic torsional triaxial tests under complex initial consolidation condition are performed on Nanjing saturated fine sand. The effects of the initial principal stress direction αo, the initial ratio of deviatoric stress η0, the initial average effective principal stress Po and the initial intermediate principal stress parameter b0 on the threshold shear strain γt of Nanjing saturated fine sand are then systematically investigated. The results show that γt increases as η0,p0 and b0 increase respectively, while the other three parameters remain constant. ao has a great influence on γt, which is reduced when ao increases from 0° to 45°and increased when α0 increases from 45° to 90°. The effect of α0 on γt, plays a leading role and the effect of η0 will weaken when ao is approximately 45°.展开更多
The optical limiting performances of few-layer transitional metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) nanosheets in the VB group(VS_(2),VSe_(2),NbS_(2),NbSe_(2),TaS_(2),and TaSe_(2)) were systematically investigated for the first ...The optical limiting performances of few-layer transitional metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) nanosheets in the VB group(VS_(2),VSe_(2),NbS_(2),NbSe_(2),TaS_(2),and TaSe_(2)) were systematically investigated for the first time,to the best of our knowledge.It was found that these TMDs nanosheets showed a normalized transmittance in the range of 20%–40%at the input energy of 1.28 GW/cm^(2).Ultralow initial threshold F_(S)(0.05–0.10 J/cm^(2)) and optical limiting threshold F_(OL)(0.82–2.23 J/cm^(2)) were achieved in the TMDs nanosheets,which surpassed most of the optical limiting materials.This work showed the potential of TMDs beyond MoS_(2)in optical limiting field.展开更多
The relationships between fatigue threshold △Kth and the initial yield .strength σ0 of normalized 1035 steel after various prestrain (at fist, second and third hardening stages respectively) were investigated throug...The relationships between fatigue threshold △Kth and the initial yield .strength σ0 of normalized 1035 steel after various prestrain (at fist, second and third hardening stages respectively) were investigated through the analysis of theσ-εcurves and transmission electron microscope (TEM). After prestraining at first or second hardening stage, there is a marked drop in the values of △Kth and σ0. This is in correspondence with the depinning of the solute atoms from the dislocation lines in the Cottrell atmosphere.At the third hardening stage of prestrain the fatigue threshold increases rapidly and △Kth is even 1.6 times as large as the original value. This is because at this stage no dislocation-cell free areas can be found and the refinement of the dislocation cells occurs with the increase in the prestrain level.展开更多

Understanding the sources of this drift and tuning the drift are crucial for obtaining...Climate drift refers to spurious long-term changes that may be inherent in coupled models when external forcing factors are fixed. Understanding the sources of this drift and tuning the drift are crucial for obtaining reasonable simulations from coupled models. To prepare for the upcoming Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6, a new coupled model has been constructed based on the Community Earth System Model and the Grid-point Atmospheric Model of IAP LASG version 2. However, the surface temperature predicted by the new model is too underestimated, and this underestimation is caused by a type of climate drift, i.e., ‘‘initial shock.'' This study analyzes the source of the cold surface temperature from the perspective of energy balance and attempts to reduce the surface temperature drift by tuning the relative humidity threshold for low cloud.展开更多
