文摘Carbon nanofibers films are typical flexible electrode in the field of energy storage, but their application in Zinc-ion hybrid capacitors(ZIHCs)is limited by the low energy density due to the lack of active adsorption sites. In this work,an in-situ exfoliation strategy is reported to modulate the chemisorption sites of carbon nanofibers by high pyridine/pyrrole nitrogen doping and carbonyl functionalization. The experimental results and theoretical calculations indicate that the highly electronegative pyridine/pyrrole nitrogen dopants can not only greatly reduce the binding energy between carbonyl group and Z n2+by inducing charge delocalization of the carbonyl group, but also promote the adsorption of Zn2+by bonding with the carbonyl group to form N–Zn–O bond.Benefit from the multiple highly active chemisorption sites generated by the synergy between carbonyl groups and pyridine/pyrrole nitrogen atoms, the resulting carbon nanofibers film cathode displays a high energy density,an ultralong-term lifespan, and excellent capacity reservation under commercial mass loading(14.45 mg cm-2).Particularly,the cathodes can also operate stably in flexible or quasi-solid devices, indicating its application potential in flexible electronic products. This work established a universal method to solve the bottleneck problem of insufficient active adsorption sites of carbon-based ZIHCs.Imoproved should be changed into Improved.

文摘Lithium-ion hybrid capacitors(LIHCs)have drawn extensive attention in fleld of energy storage. However, the absence of appropriate electrode materials with rapid kinetics restricted the overall performance of the capacitors.Herein, hierarchical N,P-codoped hollow car-bon nanospheres coupling with WS_(2) nanosheets(N,P-codoped HCNS/WS_(2)NSs)were fabricated for boosting lithium storage materials.Specially, the WS_(2) nanosheets with several layers embedded in the N,P-codoped hollow carbon nanospheres could not only enhance the conduc-tivity of composites, but also provide abundant channels for the rapid transfer of ions.As a result,as-prepared N,P-codoped HCNS/WS_(2) NSs demonstrated superior rate performance and long-term cycling stability. The reversible discharge capacity of 725.2 mAh·g^(-1) could be preserved after 1000 cycles at a current density of 1.0 A·g^(-1).Fur-thermore,LIHCs devices were assembled by using N,P-codoped HCNS/WS_(2) NSs and activated carbon(AC)as the cathode and anode, which exhibited high energy density of 166.7 Wh·kg^(-1) and power density of 5312.4 W·kg^(-1).Last but not least, the capacity almost had no obvious deterioration after 6000 cycles at a high current density of 10.0 A·g^(-1).

文摘The design and development of energy storage device with high energy/power density has become a research hotspot.Zinc-ion hybrid capacitors(ZHCs)are considered as one of the most promising candidates. However, the application of ZHCs is hindered by their low energy density at high power density due to the unsatisfactory cathode material. In this study,a novel 3D phosphorus-doped carbon nanotube/reduced graphene oxide(P-CNT/rGO)aerogel cathode is synthesized through a synergistic modification strategy of CNT insertion and P doping modification combined with 3D porous design. The as-obtained P-CNT/rGO aerogel cathode manifests significantly increased surface aera, expanded interlayer spacing, and enhanced pseudocapacitance behavior, thus leading to significantly enhanced specific capacitance and superb ions transport performance. The as-assembled ZHC based on P-CNT/rGO cathode delivers a superior energy density of 42.2 Wh/kg at an extreme-high power density of 80 kW/kg and excellent cycle life.In-depth kinetic analyses are undertaken to prove the enhanced pseudocapacitance behavior and exceptional power output capability of ZHCs.Furthermore, the reaction mechanism of physical and chemical adsorption/desorption of electrolyte ions on the P-CNT/rGO cathode is revealed by systematic ex-situ characterizations. This work can provide a valuable reference for developing advanced graphene-based cathode for high energy/power density ZHCs.

文摘Potassium ion hybrid capacitors(PIHC)have promising applications in medium and large-scale energy storage systems due to their high energy/power density, abundant potassium resource and low cost. However, the slow kinetics of battery-type anodes originating from the large-size K+results in a mismatch between the two electrodes, rendering the modest energy density of PIHC.Herein,we first develop an electrospinning strategy to successfully synthesize fibrous precursor by using the HNO_(3)pre-oxidized low-softening-point coal pitch as the low-cost raw material. With further carbonization or KOH activation, the two types of carbon nanofibers(CNF)are fabricated as anode and cathode materials, respectively, towards the dual-carbon PIHC devices. Thanks to its threedimensional interconnected porous conducting network and large layer spacing, the resulted CNF anode material is endowed with high reversible capacities, excellent rate and long cycle stability.Meanwhile, the activated CNF cathode with a large surface area of 2169 m^(2)·g^(-1)exhibits excellent capacitive performance.A PIHC constructed with the two fibrous electrodes delivers an energy density of110.0 Wh·kg^(-1)at 200.0 W kg^(-1),along with a capacitance retention of 83.5%after 10,000 cycles at 1.0 A·g^(-1).The contribution here provides a cost-efficiency avenue and platform for advanced dual-carbon PIHC.

文摘Although aqueous zinc ion hybrid capacitors have advantageous integration of batteries and supercapacitors, they still suffer from the inherent problems of dendrite growth and interfacial side reactions on Zn anodes.Herein,a universal fast zinc-ion diffusion layer on a three-dimensional(3 D)mesh structure model is demonstrated to effectively improve Zn plating/stripping reversibility. The fast ion diffusion alloy layer accelerates the Zn^(2+)migration in an orderly manner to homogenize Zn^(2+)flux and overcomes the defects of the commercial mesh substrate, effectively avoiding dendrite growth and side reactions.Consequently, the proof-of-concept silver-zinc alloy modified stainless steel mesh delivers superb reversibility with the high coulombic efficiency over 99.4%at 4 mA cm^(-2)after 1600 cycles and excellent reliability of over 830 h at 1 mA cm^(-2),Its feasibility is also evidenced in commercial zinc ion hybrid capacitors with activated carbon as the cathode. This work enriches the fundamental comprehension of fast zinc-ion diffusion layer combined with a 3 D substrate on the Zn deposition and opens a universal approach to design advanced host for Zn electrodes in zinc ion hybrid capacitors.

文摘The widespread implementation of supercapacitors is hindered by the limited energy density and the pricey porous carbon electrode materials. The cost of porous carbon is a significant factor in the overall cost of supercapacitors, therefore a high carbon yield could effectively mitigate the production cost of porous carbon. This study proposes a method to produce porous carbon spheres through a spray drying technique combined with a carbonization process, utilizing renewable enzymatic hydrolysis lignin as the carbon source and KOH as the activation agent. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the quantity of activation agent and the development of morphology, pore structure, and specific surface area of the obtained porous carbon materials. We demonstrate that this approach significantly enhances the carbon yield of porous carbon, achieving a yield of 22%in contrast to the conventional carbonization-activation method(9%).The samples acquired through this method were found to contain a substantial amount of mesopores, with an average pore size of 1.59 to 1.85 nm and a mesopore ratio of 25.6%.Additionally,these samples showed high specific surface areas, ranging from 1051 to 1831 m2·g^(−1).Zinc ion hybrid capacitors with lignin-derived porous carbon cathode exhibited a high capacitance of 279 F·g^(−1) at 0.1 A·g^(−1) and an energy density of 99.1 Wh·kg^(−1) when the power density was 80 kW·kg^(−1).This research presents a novel approach for producing porous carbons with high yield through the utilization of a spray drying approach.

文摘Bismuth(Bi),as an alloy-based anode material, has attracted much atte ntion in the developme nt of sodiumion hybrid capacitors(SIHCs)due to its high theoretical capacity. However, the volume expansion of the Bi-based anode during the sodiation/desodiation process results in limited rate capability. In the present work,a porous Bi-based composite was constructed by a one-step hydrothermal method, and Bi was encapsulated in ligninderived nitrogen-doped porous carbon(Bi@LNPC)after carbonization. The obtained Bi nanoparticles could effectively adapt to the strain and shorten the diffusion distance of Na^(+).In addition, porous carbon skeleton provides a rigid conductive network for electronic transportation. Therefore, the assembled sodium-ion half-cell with Bi@LNPC anode shows ultra-high-rate capability. When the current density was enhanced from 0.1 to 50 A·g^(-1),the specific capacity decreased slightly from 351.5 to 342.8 mAh·g^(-1).Even at an extremely high current density of 200 A·g^(-1),it retains 81.3%capacity retention when compared to a current density of 1 A·g^(-1).The SIHCs assembled by Bi@LNPC show a high energy density of 63 Wh·kg^(-1).This work provides an effective method for developing high-rate Bi anode materials for sodium-ion hybrid capacitors(SIHCs)and sodium-ion batteries(SIBs).

文摘Aqueous hybrid supercapacitors are attracting increasing attention due to their potential low cost, high safety and eco-friendliness.However,the narrow operating potential window of aqueous electrolyte and the lack of suitable negative electrode materials seriously hinder its future applications. Here,we explore high concentrated lithium acetate with high ionic conductivity of 65.5 mS cm−1 as a green“water-in-salt”electrolyte,providing wide voltage window up to 2.8 V.It facilitates the reversible function of niobium tungsten oxide,Nb18W16O93,that otherwise only operations in organic electrolytes previously. The Nb18W16O93 with lithium-ion intercalation pseudocapacitive behavior exhibits excellent rate performance, high areal capacity, and ultra-long cycling stability. An aqueous lithium-ion hybrid capacitor is developed by using Nb18W16O93 as negative electrode combined with graphene as positive electrode in lithium acetate-based“water-in-salt”electrolyte,delivering a high energy density of 41.9 W kg−1,high power density of 20,000 W kg−1 and unexceptionable stability of 50,000 cycles.

文摘Sodium-based storage devices based on conversion-type metal sulfide anodes have attracted great atten-tion due to their multivalent ion redox reaction ability. However, they also suffer from sodium polysul-fides(NaPSs)shuttling problems during the sluggish Na^(+) redox process, leading to"voltage failure"and rapid capacity decay.Herein,a metal cobalt-doping vanadium disulfide(Co-VS_(2))is proposed to simulta-neously accelerate the electrochemical reaction of VS_(2) and enhance the bidirectional redox of soluble NaPSs.It is found that the strong adsorption of NaPSs by V-Co alloy nanoparticles formed in situ during the conversion reaction of Co-VS_(2) can effectively inhibit the dissolution and shuttle of NaPSs,and ther-modynamically reduce the formation energy barrier of the reaction path to effectively drive the complete conversion reaction, while the metal transition of Co elements enhances reconversion kinetics to achieve high reversibility.Moreover,Co-VS_(2) also produce abundant sulfur vacancies and unsaturated sulfur edge defects, significantly improve ionic/electron diffusion kinetics. Therefore, the Co-VS_(2) anode exhibits ultrahigh rate capability(562 mA h g^(-1) at 5 A g^(-1)),high initial coulombic efficiency(~90%)and 12,000 ultralong cycle life with capacity retention of 90%in sodium-ion batteries(SIBs),as well as impressive energy/power density(118 Wh kg^(-1)/31,250 W kg^(-1))and over 10.000 stable cycles in sodium-ion hybrid capacitors(SIHCs).Moreover, the pouch cell-type SIHC displays a high-energy density of 102 Wh kg^(-1) and exceed 600 stable cycles. This work deepens the understanding of the electrochemical reaction mechanism of conversion-type metal sulfide anodes and provides a valuable solution to the shuttlingofNaPSs inSIBsandSIHCs.
