This paper presents a method for use in rapidly detecting plasma configuration during discharge of the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak device. First, a visible/infrared integrated endoscopy diagnostic system with a large field of view is introduced, and the PCO.edge5.5 camera in this system is used to acquire a plasma discharge image. Based on the analysis of various traditional edge detection algorithms, an improved wavelet edge detection algorithm is then introduced to identify the edge of the plasma. In this method, the local maximum of the modulus of wavelet transform is searched along four gradient directions, and the adaptive threshold is adopted. Finally, the detected boundary is fitted using the least square iterative method to accurately obtain the position of the plasma. Experimental results obtained using the EAST device show that the method presented in this paper can realize expected goals and produce ideal effects;this method thus has significant potential for application in further feedback control of plasma.展开更多

The HD with two X-points is an intrinsic divertor for heliotron devices, accompanied with a relatively thick ergodic layer outside the confinement region. Edge and divertor plasma behavior from low density to high density regimes is presented, referring to the divertor detachment. The effect of the ergodic layer on the edge transport is also discussed. On the other hand, the LID is an advanced divertor concept which realizes a high pumping efficiency by the combination of an externally induced magnetic island and a closed pumping system. Experimental results to confirm the fundamental divertor performance of the LID are presented.展开更多

Good coupling of LHW plasma has been demonstrated at different conditions in the HT-7 tokamak. Relevant results have proved that LHW-plasma coupling is affected by the phase difference between adjacent waveguides. Furthermore, the edge density around the grill and relevant coupling can be adjusted by changing the plasma line average density or the gap value between the LH grill and the last closed flux surfaces (LCFS). It is found that the coupling of LHWs becomes poor when the edge density around the LH grill is large enough in the HT-7 tokamak, and that coupling remains good with a proper edge density. With increasing LHW power, it is also found that the reflection coefficients (RCs) increase due to non-linear effects under conditions of low edge recycling, but can decrease under high edge recycling. The edge density depends mainly on the competition between the ponderomotive force (PMF) and the edge recycling intensity in the HT-7 tokamak.展开更多

Experimental measurements of the edge fluctuations, velocities of the toroidal, the poloidal flow and electric field have been carried out on both of SOL and the boundary region of HL-1M for Ohmic, biased H-mode, Lower Hybrid Current Drive (LHCD), Supersonic Molecular Beam Injection (MBI), Multi-shot Pellet Injection (MPI), Neutral Beam Injection (NBI), Ion Cyclotron Resonance Heating (ICRH) and Electric Cyclotron Resonance Heating (ECRH) discharges. The results show that the suppressions of the fluctuations are related to poloidal rotations produced by different discharge modes in the improved particle confinement property, simultaneously the change of the radial and poloidal electric field is generated and becomes more negative at the Tokamak plasma edge, and the sheared poloidal flow is related to the reduction in fluctuation level, and the poloidal velocity is mainly dominated by the E × B drift.展开更多

For this evaluation, an elastoplastic analysis was used to estimate critical COD values for single edge notched bending (SENB) specimens. The relationship between fracture toughness (Kic) and critical COD for SENB specimens was obtained. Microstructure of the interface between AleO3-TiO2 composite ceramic coatings and AISI 1045 steel substrates was studied by using scanning electron microscope (SEM). Chemical compositions were clarified by energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). The results show that the interface between of Al203-TiO2 and substrate has mechanical combining. The nanohardness of the coatings can reach 1 200 GPa examined by nanoindentation. The Klc was calculated according to this relationship from critical COD. The bending process produces a significant relationship of COD independent of the axial force applied. Fractographic analysis was conducted to determine the crack length. From the physical analysis of nanoindentation curves, the elastic modulus of 1045/AI2O3-TiO2 is 180 GPa for the 50 μm film. The highest value of fracture toughness for 1045/A1203-TiO2-250 μm is 348 MPa·mv2.展开更多

文摘The dynamical evolution of edge turbulence during a transport bifurcation is explored using a flux-driven nonlinear fluid model with a geometry relevant to the plasma edge region. The simulations show that the self-generated mean shear flows can dramatically modify the phase angle between turbulent fluctuations. The changes in phase differences and amplitudes of edge fluctuations give rise to the modifications of turbulent edge transport. The statistical properties of flux and fluctuations are also investigated before and after edge shear flow generation.
文摘This paper describes a Mach/Langmuir probe array with five pins and six pins, which can measure not only parallel flows and the flow perpendicular to the magnetic field but also the radial and the poloidal electric field E. arid E as well. The results show that the suppressions of the fluctuations are related to poloidal rotations produced by different discharge modes in the improved particle confinement property, simultaneously the change of the radial and poloidal electric field is generated and becomes more negative at the Tokamak plasma edge, and the sheared poloidal flow is related to the reduction in fluctuation level, and the poloidal velocity is mainly dominated by the E × B drift.

文摘Abstract: An effective approach was conducted for estimating fracture toughness using the crack opening displacement (COD) method for plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) coating materials. The highest value of fracture toughness for 1045/A1203-TiO2-250 μm is 348 MPa·mv2.
文摘Edge plasma features in typical HL- 1M discharges were presented. Particle confinement and plasma rotation have been investigated in the discharges with lower hybrid current drive (LHCD), molecular beam injection (MBI) and pellet fuelling. LHCD can make particle confinement increase a factor of 2-3 for low-density discharge. Particle confinement time and poloidal rotation can be at least doubled after pellet injection, while MBI can make confinement time increase about one order of magnitude with higher performance.

文摘High-density experiments in the high-field-side mid-plane single-null divertor configuration have been performed for the first time on J-TEXT.The experiments show an increase in the highest central channel line-averaged density from 2.73×10^(19)m^(-3) to 6.49×10^(19)m^(-3),while the X-point moves away from the target by increasing the divertor coil current. The corresponding Greenwald fraction rises from 0.50 to 0.79.For the impurity transport, the density normalized radiation intensity(absolute extreme ultraviolet and soft x-ray)of the central channel density decreased significantly(>50%)with an increase in the plasma density. To better understand the underlying physics mechanisms, the 3 D edge Monte Carlo code coupled with EIRENE(EMC3-EIRENE)has been implemented for the first time on J-TEXT.The simulation results show good agreement with the experimental findings. As the X-point moves away from the target, the divertor power decay length drops and the scrape-off layer impurity screening effect is enhanced.
