The crystal structures of I and II were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and further characterized by elemental analysis and IR. For I: [Ni(C18H45N3O3)]Cl2, orthorhombic, P212121, a = 11.2807(9), b = 14.7115(11), c = 16.3580(13) A, V = 2714.7(4) A3, Z = 4, Pcalcd = 1.177 Mg/m3, the final R = 0.0407, and 16539 reflections observed with I 〉 2σ(/); For II: [Co(C45HI08N6015)], trigonal, R3:H, a = 23.981(3), b =23.981(3), c = 10.8925(15) A, γ = 120°, V = 5425.1(14) A3, Z = 3, Pcalcd = 1.002 Mg/m3, the final R = 0.0625 for 16556 observed reflections with I 〉 2σ(I). The complexes were then used to catalyze the Henry reaction and obtained good catalytic results. The catalytic activity of the complexes was determined by IH NMR. And research is going towards the application to other organic reactions such as cyanosilylation reaction.展开更多

In this study, we investigated the enantioselectivity in degradation and NER formation of the chiral fungicide metalaxyl in soil particle size fractions(silt and clay). Microbial and extracellular enzyme activities during these processes were monitored in incubation of silt and clay samples isolated from sterilized and non-sterilized soil samples collected from a long-term agricultural field experimental site in Ultuna, Sweden. The temporal influence on the fate of the fungicide was noted by short-term(10-d) and long-term(92-d) incubations. Besides the acquisition of quantitative data with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC/MS), stereoselective analyses were performed with chiral GC/MS. Quantitative results pointed to a higher metabolism rate of the pesticide through microbial activity than through extracellular enzyme activity. This was also confirmed by the enantioselective depletion of R-metalaxyl and the subsequent formation of R-metalaxyl acid in microbially active samples from non-sterilized soil. The silt fraction containing a high amount of organic matter exhibited a significant hydrolyzable proportion of metalaxyl NERs that was releasable under alkaline conditions. On the contrary, the clay fraction showed an enhanced affinity for covalently bound residues. Based on our results, we recommend differentiating between reversibly and irreversibly bound proportions of pesticides in persistence and environmental risk assessment because the reversible fraction contained potentially bioavailable amounts of residues that may be released under natural conditions.展开更多

Apparent binding constants were calculated using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy experiments and solubility studies. The results showed an increase in the apparent solubility of ibuprofen in the presence of maltodextrins that depended on their ionization state. The freeze-drying method was used to prepare solid complexes, while physical mixtures were obtained by simple blending. These solid systems were characterized in the solid state using differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, Fourier Transform-Infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffractometry. Detailed nuclear magnetic resonance studies provided evidence of the influence of the type and concentration of the maltodextrin host on the chiral recognition of racemic ibuprofen, indicating that these linear ligands act as chiral selectors.展开更多

High catalytic activity and good regioselectivity were observed. Up to 31.2% ee and 38.1% ee were achieved for the hydroformylation of 4-fluoro-styrene and vinyl acetate respectively. The influences of ligand-to-metal ratio, reaction temperature and the pressure of syn-gas on the enantioselectivity and regioselectivity were also studied.展开更多
