This has led to new challenges for enterprise architects, systems engineers, business managers and other decision makers who must cope with the complexity of business plans and processes (particularly automated engineering processes). In order to better manage this complexity, the Business Rule Group (BRG) has put forth the Business Motivation Model (BMM). The original BMM uses a SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat) decision analysis approach. However, the SWOT framework contains significant limitations with respect to decision making and ICT risks, hampering the decision making ability of enterprise architects, business managers, engineers, and other decision makers. The AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) and ANP (Analytic Network Process) are among the most widely used decision making tools: they commonly implement a Benefit - Opportunity - Cost - Risk (BOCR) analysis to improve the effectiveness of business decision making. A new approach is put forth that replaces the original SWOT assessment with an ANP-based BOCR analysis. As well, the original BMM is modified and applied in a Component Architecture Framework (CAF).展开更多

Nevertheless, the Globus Resource Allocation Manager (GRAM) does not provide scheduling system by default, and traditional performance-guided or economy-guided schedulers cannot satisfy our needs in MG. So, in this paper, a TQCS (Time, Quality, Cost, Service)-based scheduling approach is presented and the corresponding scheduler (Manufacturing Grid Task Scheduler, MGTS) is implemented with the functions of Global Process Planning (GPP) analyzing, resource discovery, resource selection, AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process)-based resource mapping, and fault-tolerant handling. Furthermore, the application architecture is depicted at the end of the paper to illustrate the utilization of our scheduler.展开更多

Service-oriented enterprise (SOE) networks (SOEN) are emerging with the significant advances of El, SOA, and MDA. However, the implementation and optimization of SOEN is still lacking integrated SOA, MDA, and performance analysis and optimization (PAO) methods. This paper introduces an integrated solu- tion of SOA and MDA with a simulation-based three-stage PAO method with stage 1 being an analytic hier- archy process (AHP)-based comprehensive performance calculation for service matching and binding, stage 2 being a simulation-based comprehensive performance evaluation for business process/service composition, and stage 3 being a business process simulation-based performance optimization for SOEN. The SOE architecture, performance analysis framework, performance indicators, and performance opera- tors are discussed. The system uses MDA as the system development philosophy, SOA as the system im- plementation infrastructure, and the simulation-based PAO methods to analyze and optimize the SOEN performance. A case study of the SOEN illustrates the usage of the integrated solution.展开更多
