In this paper, consensus problems in discrete-time multiagent systems with time-invariant delays are considered. In order to characterize the structures of communication topologies, the concept of "pre-leader-follower" decomposition is introduced. Then, a necessary and sufficient condition for state consensus is established. By this method, consensus problems in networks with a single time-delay, as well as with multiple time-delays, are studied, and some necessary and sufficient conditions for solvability of consensus problems are obtained. 展开更多

This enables us to apply the rich theory of switched systems to analyzing such NCSs. Sufficient conditions are presented on the stabilization of NCSs. Stabilizing state/output feedback controllers can be constructed by using the feasible solutions of some linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The merit of our proposed approach is that the behavior of the NCSs can be studied by considering switched system without augmenting the system. The control protocols are proposed for two cases: i) for network with switching topologies and undirected information flow; ii) for network with directed information flow and communication time-delays. With the aid of several tools from algebraic graph, matrix theory and stability the- ory, the sufficient conditions guaranteeing leader-following consensus are obtained by constructing appropriate Lyapunov functions. In this correspondence paper, an equivalent stability criterion with minimal number of linear matrix inequality (LMI) variables is presented for a delay-dependent stability criterion reported recently in the International Journal of Automation and Computing for a class of linear discrete-time systems with additive time delays. The reported stability criterion for the additive timedelay systems has more number of matrix variables in the LMI and, hence, demand additional computational burden. The proposed equivalent stability criterion, unlike the reported one, does not involve free-weighing matrices and encompass only the matrix variables that are associated in the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, making the criterion mathematically less complex and computationally more effective. 展开更多

Secure platooning control plays an important role in enhancing the cooperative driving safety of automated vehicles subject to various security vulnerabilities.This paper focuses on the distributed secure control issue of automated vehicles affected by replay attacks.A proportional-integral-observer(PIO)with predetermined forgetting parameters is first constructed to acquire the dynamical information of vehicles.Then,a time-varying parameter and two positive scalars are employed to describe the temporal behavior of replay attacks.In light of such a scheme and the common properties of Laplace matrices,the closed-loop system with PIO-based controllers is transformed into a switched and time-delayed one.Furthermore,some sufficient conditions are derived to achieve the desired platooning performance by the view of the Lyapunov stability theory.The controller gains are analytically determined by resorting to the solution of certain matrix inequalities only dependent on maximum and minimum eigenvalues of communication topologies.Finally,a simulation example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy. 展开更多

The exponential passive filtering problem for a class of nonlinear Markov jump systems with uncertainties and time-delays is studied. The uncertain parameters are assumed unknown but norm bounded, and the nonlinearities satisfy the quadratic condition. Based on the passive filtering theory, the sufficient condition for the existence of the mode-dependent passive filter is given by analyzing the reconstructed observer system. By using the appropriate Lyapnnov-Krasovskii function and applying linear matrix inequalities, the design scheme of the passive filter is derived and described as an optimization one. The presented exponential passive filter makes the error dynamic systems exponentially stochastically stable for all the admissible uncertainties, time-delays and nonlinearities, has the better abilities of state tracking and satisfies the given passive norm index. Simulation results demonstrate the validity of the proposed approach. 展开更多

Methods based on numerical optimization are useful and effective in the design of control systems. This paper describes the design of retarded fractional delay differential systems (RFDDSs) by the method of inequalities, in which the design problem is formulated so that it is suitable for solution by numerical methods. Zakian's original formulation, which was first proposed in connection with rational systems, is extended to the case of RFDDSs. In making the use of this formulation possible for RFDDSs, the associated stability problems are resolved by using the stability test and the numerical algorithm for computing the abscissa of stability recently developed by the authors. During the design process, the time responses are obtained by a known method for the numerical inversion of Laplace transforms. Two numerical examples are given, where fractional controllers are designed for a time-delay and a heat-conduction plants. 展开更多

The delays are respectively considered as constant and time varying cases, and the uncertainties are assumed to be norm bounded. By selecting appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functions, it gives the sufficient condition such that the uncertain neutral MJSs are globally exponentially stochastically stable for all admissible uncertainties. The stability criteria are formulated in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which can be easily checked in practice. Finally, two numerical examples are exploited to illustrate the effectiveness of the developed techniques. 展开更多

This paper studies the continuous-time constrained consensus of heterogeneous multi-agent networks with nonconvex input and velocity constraints,where each agent’s dynamic is modeled by a first-order or second-order integrator,the communication delays are assumed to be time-varying,nonuniform,bounded and the communication graph is changing over time.An improved distributed control algorithm with time-varying gains is proposed and the heterogeneous consensus is changed into the homogeneous consensus by a coordination transformation.Then,it is proved that the constrained consensus can be reached by analyzing six connection cases between agents if the joint graph has a directed spanning tree over each bounded interval.Finally,simulations are done to show the correctness of the theorem. 展开更多

Robust H-infinity filtering for a class of uncertain discrete-time linear systems with time delays and missing measurements is studied in this paper. The uncertain parameters are supposed to reside in a convex polytope and the missing measurements are described by a binary switching sequence satisfying a Bernoulli distribution. Our attention is focused on the analysis and design of robust H-infinity filters such that, for all admissible parameter uncertainties and all possible missing measurements, the filtering error system is exponentially mean-square stable with a prescribed H-infinity disturbance attenuation level. A parameter-dependent approach is proposed to derive a less conservative result. Sufficient conditions are established for the existence of the desired filter in terms of certain linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). When these LMIs are feasible, an explicit expression of the desired filter is also provided. Finally, a numerical example is presented to illustrate the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed method. 展开更多
