The primary purpose of underground gas storages is to provide gas for seasonal consumptions or strategic reserve.The periodical operations of gas injection and extraction lead to cyclic loading on the walls and surrou...The primary purpose of underground gas storages is to provide gas for seasonal consumptions or strategic reserve.The periodical operations of gas injection and extraction lead to cyclic loading on the walls and surrounding rocks of gas storages.To investigate the mechanical behaviors of different host rocks in bedded salt deposit,laboratory experiments were conducted on the samples of rock salt,thenardite,glauberite and gypsum.The mechanical properties of rock samples under monotonic and cyclic loadings were studied.Testing results show that,under monotonic loading,the uniaxial compressive stress(UCS) of glauberite is the largest(17.3 MPa),while that of rock salt is the smallest(14.0 MPa).The UCSs of thenardite and gypsum are 16.3 and 14.6 MPa,respectively.The maximum strain at the peak strength of rock salt(halite) is much greater than those of the other three rocks.The elastic moduli of halite,thenardite,glauberite and gypsum are 3.0,4.2,5.1 and 6.8 GPa,respectively.Under cyclic loading,the peak strengths of the rock specimens are deteriorated except for rock salt.The peak strengths of thenardite,glauberite and gypsum decrease by 33.7%,19.1% and 35.5%,respectively;and the strains of the three rocks at the peak strengths are almost the same.However,the strain of rock salt at the peak strength increases by 1.98%,twice more than that under monotonic loading.Under monotonic loading,deformation of the tested rock salt,thenardite and glauberite shows in an elastoplastic style.However,it changes to a ductile style under cyclic loading.Brittle deformation and failure are only observed for gypsum.The results should be helpful for engineering design and operation of gas storage in bedded salt deposit.展开更多

With the increasing demand of high-power and pulsed power electronic devices,environmental-friendly potassium sodium niobate((Na_(0.5)K_(0.5))NbO_(3),KNN)ceramic-based capacitors have attracted much attention in recen...With the increasing demand of high-power and pulsed power electronic devices,environmental-friendly potassium sodium niobate((Na_(0.5)K_(0.5))NbO_(3),KNN)ceramic-based capacitors have attracted much attention in recent years owning to the boosted energy storage density(W_(rec)).Nevertheless,the dielectric loss also increases as the external electric field increases,which will generate much dissipated energy and raise the temperature of ceramic capacitors.Thus,an effective strategy is proposed to enhance the energy storage efficiency(η)via tailoring relaxor behavior and bad gap energy in the ferroelectric 0.9(Na_(0.5)K_(0.5))-NbO_(3)-0.1Bi(Zn_(2/3)(Nb_(x)Ta_(1−x))1/3)O_(3) ceramics.On the one hand,the more diverse ions in the B-sites owing to introducing the Ta could further disturb the long-range ferroelectric polar order to form the short−range polar nanoregions(PNRs),resulting in the highη.On the other hand,the introduction of Ta ions could boost the intrinsic band energy gap and thus improve the Eb.As a result,high Wrec of 3.29 J/cm^(3) and ultrahighηof 90.1%at the high external electric field of 310 kV/cm are achieved in x=0.5 sample.These results reveal that the KNN-based ceramics are promising lead-free candidate for high-power electronic devices.展开更多
A runaway transition after the pump power interruption and the simultaneous guide vane servomotor failure is one of the most dangerous and complex transitions for a pumped storage power system(PSPS).This paper analyze...A runaway transition after the pump power interruption and the simultaneous guide vane servomotor failure is one of the most dangerous and complex transitions for a pumped storage power system(PSPS).This paper analyzes the fluctuation behavior and mechanism of a PSPS during a runaway transition caused by the pump power interruption.The transient cavitation flow in the PSPS is simulated by using a one-dimensional and three-dimensional coupling flow simulation method for the runaway transition.Subsequently,the effects of the transient fluctuation of the radial hydraulic thrust on the runner and transient pressures are analyzed using the short-time Fourier transform method.Finally,the mechanisms are analyzed based on the analysis of the internal flow field.This study suggests that the extreme fluctuation generally occurs near the critical transformation points between the two operation modes.In addition,the extreme fluctuation behavior is primarily related to the local backflow near the runner inlet and the unstable cavitation phenomena in the runner and the draft tube.This finding helps for optimizing the runner design to resolve the instability problems of a PSPS.展开更多
