Syngas fuel such as hydrogen and carbon monoxide generated by solar energy is a promising method to use solar energy and overcome its fluctuation effectively.This study proposes a combined cooling,heating,and power sy...Syngas fuel such as hydrogen and carbon monoxide generated by solar energy is a promising method to use solar energy and overcome its fluctuation effectively.This study proposes a combined cooling,heating,and power system using the reversible solid oxide fuel cell assisted by solar energy to produce solar fuel and then supply energy products for users during the period without solar radiation.The system runs a solar-assisted solid oxide electrolysis cell mode and a solid oxide fuel cell mode.The thermodynamic models are constructed,and the energetic and exergetic performances are analyzed.Under the design work conditions,the SOEC mode’s overall system energy and exergy efficiencies are 19.0%and 20.5%,respectively.The electrical,energy and exergy efficiencies in the SOFC mode are 51.4%,71.3%,and 45.2%,respectively.The solid oxide fuel cell accounts for 60.0%of total exergy destruction,caused by the electrochemical reactions’thermodynamic irreversibilities.The increase of operating temperature of solid oxide fuel cell from 800℃to 1050℃rises the exergy and energy efficiencies by 11.3%and 12.3%,respectively.Its pressure from 0.2 to 0.7 MPa improves electrical efficiency by 13.8%while decreasing energy and exergy efficiencies by 5.2%and 6.0%,respectively.展开更多

In this research, solid fuel from co-briquetting of wood residues from sawmill using commercial kraft lignin as binder was investigated. The effects of compression pressure (900, 1200 and 1500 PSI) and briquette formulation (varying wood and kraft lignin proportion) on the quality and characteristics of briquettes were evaluated. The main findings were that briquetting of wood residues with kraft lignin resulted in an improvement of bulk density, strength rupture modulus, low heating value (LHV) and high heating value (HHV). The briquettes using 4% and 6% of kraft lignin, and submitted to 1200 to 1500 PSI, presented higher bulk density and strength resistance, respectively. On the other hand, the heating values showed the highest results with the addition of 2% lignin at 900 PSI, being the legal range for additives in briquettes for many countries such as in European Union.展开更多

The solution to this problem will have great significance on energy conservation and emission reduction. A new auxiliary power unit of solid oxide fuel cell( SOFCAPU) with high efficiency solves this problem perfectly. Heat pump air conditioner is considered as a promising device for the application of SOFC-APU with a high cooling and heating efficiency. To make a quantitative analysis for the application of SOFC-APU,a model is built in Matlab / Simulink. The diesel engine model and SOFC-APU model are fitted based on some experimental data of SOFC-APU and diesel engine during the idling operation. An analysis of the application of SOFC-APU on different trucks in Northeast China is comprehensively made,including efficiency and emission.展开更多
