Paludalfs under different crop rotation systems in North Huai region,China were sampled and soil aggregates were separated by ultra sonic dispersion followed by sedimentation and centrifuging.The particle size distribution,SOC (Soil organic matter) contents and the natural abundance of 13 C in these aggregates were studied.Significant difference in size of the aggregates and organic carbon storage in the studied soils were found after 5 years of the crop rotation on the soil.SOC was mainly found in 0.02~0.25mm fraction of aggregates in the soils.The aggregates in layers deeper than 35cm became coarse and richer in SOC under corn peanut sweet potato rotation.Young carbon derived from corn tended to be accumulated in the coarse fractions as revealed by heavier stable carbon composition in those aggregates from deep layer under the rotation system containing corn crop.Compared to the soil under think pine forest,All soils under crop rotation system showed rapid increase of SOC at rates ranging from 0.14C g·kg -1 ·a -1 to 0 22C g·kg -1 ·a -1 ,with the highest under corn peanut sweet potato system.Thus,the significance was indicated for increasing SOC storage by crop rotation in paludalfs and for reinforcing terrestrial carbon retention of atmospheric CO 2. 展开更多

Straw return is a promising strategy for managing soil organic carbon(SOC)and improving yield stability.However,the optimal straw return strategy for sustainable crop production in the wheat(Triticum aestivum L.)-cotton(Gossypium hirsutum L.)cropping system remains uncertain.The objective of this study was to quantify the long-term(10 years)impact of carbon(C)input on SOC sequestration,soil aggregation and crop yields in a wheat-cotton cropping system in the Yangtze River Valley,China.Five treatments were arranged with a single-factor randomized design as follows:no straw return(Control),return of wheat straw only(Wt),return of cotton straw only(Ct),return of 50%wheat and 50%cotton straw(Wh-Ch)and return of 100%wheat and 100%cotton straw(Wt-Ct).In comparison to the Control,the SOC content increased by 8.4 to 20.2%under straw return.A significant linear positive correlation between SOC sequestration and C input(1.42-7.19 Mg ha^(−1)yr^(−1))(P<0.05)was detected.The percentages of aggregates of sizes>2 and 1-2 mm at the 0-20 cm soil depth were also significantly elevated under straw return,with the greatest increase of the aggregate stability in the Wt-Ct treatment(28.1%).The average wheat yields increased by 12.4-36.0%and cotton yields increased by 29.4-73.7%,and significantly linear positive correlations were also detected between C input and the yields of wheat and cotton.The average sustainable yield index(SYI)reached a maximum value of 0.69 when the C input was 7.08 Mg ha^(−1)yr^(−1),which was close to the maximum value(SYI of 0.69,C input of 7.19 Mg ha^(−1)yr^(-1))in the Wt-Ct treatment.Overall,the return of both wheat and cotton straw was the best strategy for improving SOC sequestration,soil aggregation,yields and their sustainability in the wheat-cotton rotation system. 展开更多

In rain-fed semi-arid agroecosystems, continuous conventional tillage can cause serious problems in soil quality and crop production, whereas rotational tillage (no-tillage and subsoiling) could decrease soil bulk density, and increase soil aggregates and organic carbon in the 0-40 cm soil layer. A 3-year field study was conducted to determine the effect of tillage practices on soil organic carbon (SOC), total nitrogen (TN), water-stable aggregate size distribution and aggregate C and N sequestration from 0 to 40 cm soil in semi-arid areas of southern Ningxia. Three tillage treatments were tested: no-tillage in year 1, subsoiling in year 2, and no-tillage in year 3 (NT-ST-NT); subsoiling in year 1, no-tillage in year 2, and subsoiling in year 3 (ST-NT-ST); and conventional tillage over years 1-3 (CT). Mean values of soil bulk density in 0-40 cm under NT-ST-NT and ST-NT-ST were significantly decreased by 3.3% and 6.5%, respectively, compared with CT, while soil total porosity was greatly improved. Rotational tillage increased SOC, TN, and water-stable aggregates in the 0-40 cm soil, with the greatest effect under ST-NT-ST. In 0-20 and 2(}-40 cm soils, the tillage effect was confined to the 2-0.25 mm size fraction of soil aggregates, and rotational tillage treatments obtained significantly higher SOC and TN contents than conventional tillage. No significant differences were detected in SOC and TN contents in the 〉 2 mm and 〈 0.25 mm aggregates among all treatments. In conclusion, rotational tillage practices could significantly increase SOC and TN levels, due to a fundamental change in soil structure, and maintain agroecosystem sustainability in the Loess Plateau area of China. 展开更多

To ascertain the effects of long-term conservation tillage and residue retention on soil organic carbon(SOC) content and aggregate distribution in a deep soil(>20-cm depth) in a dryland environment,this paper analyzed the SOC and aggregate distribution in soil, and the aggregate-associated organic carbon(OC) and SOC physical fractions. Conservation tillage(reduced tillage with residue incorporated(RT) and no-tillage with residue mulch(NT)) significantly increased SOC sequestration and soil aggregation in deep soil compared with conventional tillage with residue removal(CT). Compared with CT, RT significantly increased the proportion of small macroaggregates by 23%–81% in the 10–80 cm layer, and the OC content in small macroaggregates by 1%–58% in the 0–80 cm layer. RT significantly increased(by 24%–90%) the OC content in mineral-SOC within small macroaggregates in the 0–60 cm layer, while there was a 23%–80% increase in the 0–40 cm layer with NT. These results indicated that:(1) conservation tillage treatments are beneficial for soil aggregation and SOC sequestration in a deep soil in a dryland environment; and(2)the SOC in mineral-associated OC plays important roles in soil aggregation and SOC sequestration. In conclusion, RT with NT is recommended as an agricultural management tool in dryland soils because of its role in improving soil aggregation and SOC sequestration. 展开更多

以中国科学院阜康荒漠生态站长期定位试验为平台,对不同施肥模式下绿洲农田土壤有机碳(SOC)、颗粒有机碳(POC)、轻组有机碳(LFOC)及团聚体结合碳的剖面(0~3m)特征进行了研究。结果表明:与荒漠土壤相比,20a长期施肥模式下SO... 以中国科学院阜康荒漠生态站长期定位试验为平台,对不同施肥模式下绿洲农田土壤有机碳(SOC)、颗粒有机碳(POC)、轻组有机碳(LFOC)及团聚体结合碳的剖面(0~3m)特征进行了研究。结果表明:与荒漠土壤相比,20a长期施肥模式下SOC含量在表层(0~0.2m)土壤中增加了14%~56%,但在下层(0.2~0.6m)减少了15%~33%。在深层(0.6~3m),单施化肥(NPK与N2P2K)与化肥配施秸秆处理(NPKR与N2P2R2)具有不同的变化:SOC含量在前者中降低了5%~9%,在后者中增加了4%~9%,POC与LFOC具有相似变化趋势。所有处理均增加了整个剖面的大团聚体(〉0.25mm)结合碳。然而,44%~87%的SOC分布于粉砂与粘粒组分(〈0.053mm)中,在深层土壤中该比例最大(超过80%),揭示了该组分中SOC含量的维持对于碳固定的重要性。单施化肥处理降低了粉砂与粘粒组分中SOC含量,可能是其深层土壤碳损耗的一个机制。化肥配施秸秆处理在促进SOC含量的增加、大团聚体形成方面具有最好效果,尤其在深层土壤。 展开更多

为明确水蚀环境不同条件下植被恢复策略对土壤固碳和团聚体稳定性的影响差异,通过搜集91篇论文的实验数据,以农田(或裸地)为对照,基于Meta分析评估土壤有机碳(SOC)储量和团聚体稳定性对水蚀环境退耕还林/还草措施的响应.结果表明:(1)退... 为明确水蚀环境不同条件下植被恢复策略对土壤固碳和团聚体稳定性的影响差异,通过搜集91篇论文的实验数据,以农田(或裸地)为对照,基于Meta分析评估土壤有机碳(SOC)储量和团聚体稳定性对水蚀环境退耕还林/还草措施的响应.结果表明:(1)退耕还林/还草均有利于提高SOC储量,改善土壤团聚体稳定性,但两者的优势功能存在差异,还林的固碳效应强于还草,而还草对增强团聚体稳定性的作用更强.(2)多因素Meta分析表明显著影响SOC的因素有:恢复年份、土壤黏粒含量、植被覆盖度、年平均降雨(MAP)、年平均气温(MAT)和土壤深度.其中植被恢复对SOC储量的正向效应随着植被覆盖率增加而提高;草地恢复在土壤黏粒含量为20%~32%下对SOC储量的提高效应更显著,在MAP>800 mm或MAT<15℃条件下更易促进草地固碳效应,不同恢复年限下的草地固碳效应无显著变化;而林地恢复在土壤黏粒含量>32%下对SOC储量的提高效应更显著,气候条件对林地SOC储量无限制性影响,林地恢复下的SOC储量与恢复年限间存在正向效应.(3)植被恢复在黏粒含量为20%~32%时对平均重量直径(MWD)和平均几何直径(GMD)的正向效应更显著,MWD和GMD随植被覆盖率增加而增加.(4)SOC储量增长能分别解释25%和24%的MWD和GMD的效应值变异.结果表明,SOC的形成是多因素综合作用的结果,而土壤结构稳定性仅受植被覆盖度和土壤黏粒的限制.SOC储量的增加可促进提高MWD和GMD.研究可明确不同植被恢复措施在水蚀环境的固碳效果,为退化生态系统的恢复与重建提供理论参考. 展开更多

土壤团聚体稳定性与团聚体有机碳的关系及其对土地利用变化的响应研究,对西南岩溶区估算土壤碳汇潜力、改善石漠化问题和土地利用管理有重要意义.为探究西南岩溶区土地利用方式变化对土壤团聚体组分、稳定性及团聚体有机碳含量的影响,... 土壤团聚体稳定性与团聚体有机碳的关系及其对土地利用变化的响应研究,对西南岩溶区估算土壤碳汇潜力、改善石漠化问题和土地利用管理有重要意义.为探究西南岩溶区土地利用方式变化对土壤团聚体组分、稳定性及团聚体有机碳含量的影响,选取次生林、柚子林、水田、花椒林和旱地这5种典型土地利用方式下0~30 cm的土壤为研究对象,分析了不同土地利用方式下土壤团聚体组分及其有机碳含量的变化规律,揭示了土壤团聚体组分与团聚体有机碳含量之间的关系,探讨了土地利用方式变化后土壤团聚体对有机碳含量变化的贡献.结果表明,次生林、柚子林和水田表层(0~15 cm)土壤中大团聚体的含量分别为63.32%、52.38%和47.77%,显著高于旱地(23.70%),下层(15~30 cm)土壤趋势相同;次生林、柚子林和水田土壤团聚体的几何平均直径(GMD)和平均质量直径(MWD)显著高于旱地.表层土壤中,次生林和水田的有机碳含量显著高于其他土地利用方式,下层土壤中,只有水田的有机碳含量显著高于其他.各土地利用方式下,团聚体有机碳含量均表现为:大团聚体>微团聚体>粉黏粒.大团聚体对土壤有机碳含量的增加具有积极作用,而粉黏粒组分则有消极作用.相关性分析表明,土壤大团聚体含量与GMD、MWD及土壤团聚体有机碳含量均呈显著正相关.土壤大团聚体含量的增加有利于提高土壤团聚体的稳定性和储存土壤有机碳,适度发展林业和水田耕作有利于提高西南岩溶区土壤的固碳潜力. 展开更多

土壤团聚体稳定性和有机碳(SOC)是反映土壤结构和质量的重要指标,在温性荒漠土壤质量改善中起着关键作用.为探究温性荒漠不同草地型土壤团聚体分布规律、稳定性和团聚体SOC含量的变化特征及相互关系,以陇中黄土高原温性荒漠的4种草地型... 土壤团聚体稳定性和有机碳(SOC)是反映土壤结构和质量的重要指标,在温性荒漠土壤质量改善中起着关键作用.为探究温性荒漠不同草地型土壤团聚体分布规律、稳定性和团聚体SOC含量的变化特征及相互关系,以陇中黄土高原温性荒漠的4种草地型(盐爪爪型、红砂型、珍珠猪毛菜型和合头藜型)为研究对象,采用湿筛法测定土壤的团聚体粒径分布特征,通过计算团聚体稳定性指标与团聚体粒径SOC对全土SOC含量的贡献分析土壤团聚体的稳定性,采用相关分析、主成分分析和线性拟合方程揭示土壤团聚体和团聚体粒径SOC与土壤稳定性的关系.结果表明,盐爪爪型草地各土层(0~10、10~20和20~30 cm)>0.25 mm团聚体含量(R0.25)、平均重量直径(MWD)、几何平均直径(GMD)和全土SOC含量均显著高于红砂型和合头藜型草地(P<0.05);盐爪爪型草地各土层0.053~0.25 mm和<0.053 mm粒径SOC含量显著高于合头藜型草地(P<0.05);表层和亚表层土壤(0~10 cm和10~20 cm)的0.25~2 mm粒径SOC对全土SOC含量的贡献显著最高(P<0.05);且随着土层加深,盐爪爪型草地R0.25、MWD、GMD、全土和团聚体SOC含量呈现先升后降趋势,10~20 cm含量最高;盐爪爪型草地团聚体含量以0.25~2 mm团聚体为主,其他3种草地型以0.053~0.25 mm团聚体为主.此外,全土SOC含量与R0.25、MWD、GMD和ELT呈显著相关(P<0.01),且团聚体0.25 mm是正负相关的临界点;R0.25、MWD、GMD和ELT值是影响草地全土SOC的关键因素;全土SOC含量与GMD的拟合方程更适合描述SOC含量与团聚体稳定性间的关系.因此,相较于其他草地型,盐爪爪型草地对土壤团聚体稳定性和土壤质量具有促进作用. 展开更多
