Most researches involved so far in kiwifruit harvesting robot suggest the scenario of harvesting in daytime for taking advantage of sunlight.A robot operating at nighttime can overcome the problem of low work efficien...Most researches involved so far in kiwifruit harvesting robot suggest the scenario of harvesting in daytime for taking advantage of sunlight.A robot operating at nighttime can overcome the problem of low work efficiency and would help to minimize fruit damage.In addition,artificial lights can be used to ensure constant illumination instead of the variable natural sunlight for image capturing.This paper aims to study the kiwifruit recognition at nighttime using artificial lighting based on machine vision.Firstly,an RGB camera was placed underneath the canopy so that clusters of kiwifruits could be included in the images.Next,the images were segmented using an R-G color model.Finally,a group of image processing conventional methods,such as Canny operator were applied to detect the fruits.The image processing results showed that this capturing method could reduce the background noise and overcome any target overlapping.The experimental results showed that the optimal artificial lighting ranged approximately between 30-50 lx.The developed algorithm detected 88.3%of the fruits successfully.展开更多

The static and dynamic characteristics of the guide have been studied by using some theoretical, numerical and experimental approaches, and some methods and measures have been proposed to improve its performances. The hydrostatic guide based on progressive mengen(PM) flow controller is especially suitable for the heavy numerical control(NC) machine tools. However, few literatures about the research on the static and dynamic characteristics of the hydrostatic guides based on PM flow controller are reported. In this paper, the formulae are derived for analyzing the static and dynamic characteristics of hydrostatic guides with rectangle pockets and PM flow controller according to the theory of hydrostatic bearing. On the basis of the analysis of hydrostatic bearing with circular pocket, some equations are derived for solving the static pressure, volume pressure and squeezing pressure which influence the dynamic characteristics of hydrostatic guides with rectangle pocket. The function and the influencing factors of three pressures are clarified. The formulae of amplitude-frequency characteristics and dynamic stiffness of the hydrostatic guide system are derived. With the help of software MATLAB, programs are coded with C++ language to simulate numerically the static and dynamic characteristics of the hydrostatic guide based on PM flow controller. The simulation results indicate that the sensitive oil volume between the outlet of the PM flow controller and the guide pocket has the greatest influence on the characteristics of the guide, and it should be reduced as small as possible when the field working condition is met. The restdts show that the wave pattern relies on the frequency range of harmonic wave and the energy of pulse current within the frequency range of pulse current. Imposed pulse current could induce the solidification system to oscillate. The frequency range and the relevant energy distribution of pulse current exert an influence on the amount of atoms involved for forming critical nucleus, the surface states of dusters in melt, the oscillating state of melt on the surface of dusters, the active energy of atom diffusion , the frequnce response of the resonance of bulk melt and the absorbability of the solidification system to the external work. Rectangle wave pulse current involves rich harmonic waves ; the amplitudes of high order of harmonic waves are higher and reduce slowly, so it has a better effect on inoculation and modification.展开更多

Then it is proved that nonlinear neural networks can be represented by rectangle wave neural networks. Based on the results mentioned above, the equivalence between fuzzy logic systems and feedforward neural networks is proved, which will be very useful for theoretical research or applications on fuzzy logic systems or neural networks by means of combining fuzzy logic systems with neural networks.展开更多

However, the shape that is always present, regardless of the complexity of the object, is the circle. The circle is arguably the most fascinating shape in the universe. A circle is defined as the set of all points equidistant from a given point, which, therefore, lies at the center of the circle. One of the various properties of circles is that it has infinite inscribed squares. This is because it is a continuous function, therefore if any point in the circle is transitioned by a specific factor, the other related points in the square would be shifted by the same factor. An ellipse is a similar shape with several inscribed squares. But does any closed curve have an inscribed square? This question was proposed by Otto Toeplitz in 1911 and to this day it is not answered. Another version of this problem is the inscribed rectangle problem which will be discussed in this paper.展开更多
