To improve the straight edge seam defect on hot-rolled steel plates,the deformation and temperature distribution of rectangular slabs and chamfered slabs during rolling in a pilot rolling experiment were analyzed in d...To improve the straight edge seam defect on hot-rolled steel plates,the deformation and temperature distribution of rectangular slabs and chamfered slabs during rolling in a pilot rolling experiment were analyzed in detail using the finite element method.The results showed that the crease formed on the lateral side near the edge of the plate as a result of uneven stress during broadside rolling.The creases rose to the surface with unrestricted spread and evolved into a straight edge seam during the subsequent straight rolling.To eliminate the straight edge seam defect,chamfered slabs were developed and investigated for rolling.The use of the chamfered slabs provided two advantages for rolling:the distribution of the temperature near the edge was ameliorated,and the deformation shape was improved by the chamfered shape.As a result,the risk of forming a straight edge seam defect was reduced by the use of a chamfered slab.展开更多

The results show that ED GE reacts with silk fibroin and forms cr...The paper here intends to discuss silk crease recovery finishing behavior with ED GE (ethylene diglycidal ether) in the presence of a new catalyst WSH. The results show that ED GE reacts with silk fibroin and forms cross linkages through ether bond. The formation of cross linking was examined by FITR spectroscopy, soluble time in acid solution and changes of amino acids. Handle of treated silk with catalyst WSH is better than that of silk treated with the traditional catalysts such as thiosulfates and thiocyanates. Finishing technique, physical properties of the finished silk fabrics and evaluation of cross linkages are discussed.展开更多

Despite the increasing demand for AB and advancements in surgical techniques, creating an optimal upper eyelid crease remains difficult. This study aimed to determine whether removing the preaponeurotic fat pad (PAF) had any effect on the revision surgery rates following primary Asian blepharoplasty. Methods: A retrospective comparative analysis was conducted on patients who underwent primary AB between January 2016 and December 2020. Patients were divided into PAF removed and PAF not removed groups. The outcomes in the groups were compared by the frequency of revision surgery following primary AB using the chi-square test (p Results: The study included 480 patients, 442 (92%) female and 38 (8%) male, and the final outcome was evaluated after 6 months postoperatively. 412 (86%) patients were observed to have PAF pads intraoperatively, while 68 (14%) had minimal/no PAF pads. In total, 115 (24%) patients underwent revision surgery, of whom 31 (27%) had PAF removed, 66 (57%) had PAF not removed, and 18 (16%) had minimal/no PAF noted. When compared to the PAF not removed group, the PAF removed group showed a significantly lower frequency of revision surgery between the two groups of patients (p = 0.0001). Conclusion: In the final outcome, not removing the PAF in primary AB indicated a strong association with an increase in revision surgery. The removal of PAF in primary AB showed a better overall outcome and patient satisfaction.展开更多

The relationship between the creasing force and deformation are deduced using an energy method and solutions are given for a linearly elastic material with constant internal frictional constraint. In this research work, the physical properties of plain and twill were analyzed. Physical, mechanical and other aesthetic properties are also tested and the finding results are also compared between two samples. After testing the samples it is found that rubbing fastness remains unchanged for plain and twill fabric. Abrasion resistance, pilling, crease recovery and cover factor were evaluated for twill and plain structures using ISO 12945-2, ISO 12945-1 and ISO 2313 methods respectively. Abrasion resistance and pills property are not good for twill fabric in comparison with plain fabric but crease recovery is better of twill fabric.展开更多
