The signal from the source-destination(S-D) link is formulated as a highly correlated counterpart from the relay-destination(R-D) link. A special XOR vector is defined using the correlated hard decision information blocks from two decoders and the extrinsic information exchanged between the two decoders is derived by the log-likelihood ratio(LLR) associated with the XOR vector. Such the decoding scheme is different from the traditional turbo-like detection/decoding algorithm, where the extrinsic information is computed by the side information and the soft decoder outputs. Simulations show that the presented algorithm has a slightly better performance than the traditional turbo-like algorithm(Taking the(255,175) EG-LDPC code as an example, it achieves about 0.1 dB performance gains aroundBLER=10^(-4)). Furthermore, the presented algorithm requires fewer computing operations per iteration and has faster convergence rate. For example, the average iteration of the presented algorithm is 33 at SNR=1.8 dB, which is about twice faster than that of the turbo-like algorithm, when decoding the(961,721) QC-LDPC code. Therefore, the presented decoding algorithm of correlated sources provides an alternative decoding solution for the LDPC-based relay systems.展开更多

Under the assumptions of uncorrelated flat fading channel model and perfect channel state information at the transmitter (CSIT), an LR-aided ZF precoder is able to collect the full transmit diversity. With the complex Lenstra- Lenstra-Lov^sz (LLL) algorithm and limited feedforward structure, an LR-aided linear minimum-mean-square-error (LMMSE) pre- coder for spatial correlated MIMO channels and imperfect CSIT is proposed to achieve lower bit error rate (BER). Assuming a time division duplexing (TDD) MIMO system, correlated block flat fad- ing channel and LMMSE uplink channel estimator, it is proved that the proposed LR-aided LMMSE precoder can also obtain the full transmit diversity through an analytical approach. Furthermore, the simulation results show that with the quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) modulation at the transmitter, the uncoded and coded BERs of the LR-aided LMMSE precoder are lower than that of the traditional LMMSE precoder respectively when Eb-No is greater than 10 dB and 12 dB at all correlation coefficients.展开更多

However, the Rician fading model is suitable for microcellular mobile systems or line of sight mode of WiMAX. In this paper, the training based channel es-timation (TBCE) scheme in the spatially correlated Rician flat fading MIMO channels is investigated. First, the least squares (LS) channel estimator is probed. Simulation results show that the Rice factor has no effect on the performance of this estimator. Then, a new linear minimum mean square error (LMMSE) technique, appropriate for Rician fading channels, is proposed. The optimal choice of training sequences with mean square error (MSE) criteria is investigated for these estimators. Analytical and numerical results show that the performance of proposed estimator in the Rician channel model compared with Rayleigh one is much better. It is illustrated that when the channel Rice factor and/or the correlation coefficient increase, the per-formance of the proposed estimator significantly improves.展开更多

In previously published work, the performance of VBLAST has been primarily investigated in uncorrelated Rayleigh fading channels. However in real environments some correlation between antenna elements can be presented. In this paper, we study the impact of transmit correlation on the performance of VBLAST systems. Finally we provide simulation results demonstrating the impact of spatial fading correlation on the symbol error rate of VBLAST.展开更多
