The effect of Si and Mn on transformation induced plasticity (TRIP) was discussed according to thermodynamic and kinetic analyses. Equilibrium concen...The calcite dissolution rates at 50-250 ℃ and 20 MPa in deionized water with flow rate varying from 0.2 to 5 mL/min were experimentally measured in a continuous flow column pressure vessel reactor. Equilibrium concentration (Ceq) of calcite dissolution in deionized water at 20 MPa was determined using dissolution data according to the iterative method presented by Jeschke and Dreybrodt. The equilibrium concentrations at 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250 ℃ are 1.84×10^-4, 2.23×10^-4, 2.25×10^-4, 2.31×10^-4 and 2.24×10^-4 mol/L, respectively. The Ceq increases first and then decreases with temperature varying from 50 to 250 ℃ at 20 MPa, and the same variation trend occurs at 10 MPa with lower values. The maximum value (or extremum) of Ceq would increase with temperature at constant pressures. The dissolution reaction of calcite in this experiment is approaching the calcite equilibrium, and the reaction order doesn't keep a constant at different temperatures, which could imply that a change of the reac- tion mechanism was occurring. The Arrhenius equation shouldn't be used to calculate apparent activation energy using rate constant data at different temperatures when the reaction order or reaction mechanism changed.展开更多

The as-prepared NaCl-KCl-TiClx melt was employed as the electrolyte, and two parallel crude titanium plates and one high-purity titanium plate were used as the anode and cathode, respectively. A series of electrochemical tests were performed to investigate the influence of electrolytic parameters on the current efficiency and quality of cathodic products. The results indicated that the quality of cathodic products was related to the current efficiency, which is significantly dependent on the current density and the initial concentration of titanium ions. The significance of this study is the attainment of high-purity titanium with a low oxygen content of 30× 10^-6.展开更多

All the samples were analyzed by GD-MS. Theory calculation determines that phosphorus evaporates from molten silicon as gas species P and P2 at a finite reduced pressure. The experimental results show that phosphorus mass fraction can be decreased from 0.046% (460ppmw) to around 0.001% (10ppmw) under the condition of temperature 1 873 K, chamber pressure 0.6-0.8 Pa, holding time 1 h. Both experimental data and calculation results agree that at high phosphorus concentration, phosphorus removal is quite dependent on high chamber pressure while it becomes independent on low chamber pressure. The reason is that phosphorus evaporates from molten silicon as gas species P2 at a relatively high phosphorus concentration, while gas species P will be dominated in its vapour at low phosphorus content.展开更多

With the sublattice mo...Thermodynamic and kinetic study on TRIP (transformation induced plasticity) steels, cemented carbides and mold steel for plastics were carried out in order to design modern advanced materials. With the sublattice model, equilibrium compositions of ferrite and austenite phases in TRIP steels, as well as volume fraction of austenite at inter-critical temperatures for different time were calculated. Concentration profiles of carbon, manganese, aluminum and silicon in the steels were also estimated in the lattice fixed frame of reference. The effect of Si and Mn on TRIP was discussed according to thermodynamic and kinetic analyses. In order to understand and produce the graded nanophase structure of cemented carbides, miscellaneous phases in the M-Co-C (M= Ti, Ta, Nh) systems and Co-V-C system were modeled. Solution parameters and thermodynamic: properties were listed in detail. The improvement of machining behavior of prehardened mould steel for plastics was obtained by computer-aided composition design. The results showed that the matrix composition of large-section prehardened mould steel for plastic markedly influences the precipitation of non-metallic inclusion and the composition control by the aid of Thermo-Calc software package minimizes the amount of detrimental oxide inclusion. In addition, the modification of calcium was optimized in composition design.展开更多
