By means of theories and methods of gas geology, structural geology, coal petrology and rock tests,we have discussed the effect of control of several physical properties of soft roof on gas preservation and proposed a new method of forecasting gas geological hazards under open structural conditions. The result shows that the areas with type Ⅲ or Ⅳ soft roofs are the most dangerous areas where gas outburst most likely can take place. Therefore, countermeasures should be taken in these areas to prevent gas outbursts.展开更多

The effect of autapse on neuronal activity is often described by adding an additive forcing current along a close loop, which is described by a time-delayed feedback on the membrane potential. Neuron often responds to electric autapse forcing sensitively and quickly, while the chemical autapse changes the electric activity of neuron slowly. By applying external forcing, a shift transition of electric activity can be more easily induced by the electric autapse than the chemical autapse. Our results confirm that chemical autapse can enhance and/or suppress the transition of electric activity with excitable or inhibitory type driven by electric autapse, vice versa. It indicates that an appropriate switch-off-on for autapse can make the neuron give different types of response to external forcing. Particularly, cooperation and competition between chemical and electric autapse help neuron response to external forcing in the most reliable way.展开更多

However, we wonder how the synaptic strength and synaptic delay, especially the asymmetrical time-delays between different neurons can collectively influence their synchronous firing behaviors. In this paper, based on the Hindmarsh-Rose neuronal systems with asymmetrical time-delays, we investigate the collective effects of various delays and coupling strengths on the synchronization and bursting transition. It is shown that the interplay between delay and coupling strength can not only enhance or destroy the synchronizations but also can induce the regular transitions of bursting firing patterns. Specifically, as the coupling strength or time-delay increasing, the firing patterns of the time-delayed coupling neuronal systems consistently present a regular transition, that is, the periods of spikes during the bursting firings increase firstly and then decrease slowly. In particular, in contrast to the case of symmetrical time-delays,asymmetrical time-delays can lead to the paroxysmal synchronizations of coupling neuronal systems, as well as the concentration level of synchronization for the non-identically coupled system is superior to the one of identical coupling. These results more comprehensively reveal the rich nonlinear dynamical behaviors of neuronal systems and may be helpful for us to have a better understanding of the neural coding.展开更多
