Lév.与红花大苞苣苔实为同种,前者被处理为白花大苞苣苔的异名。在对白花大苞苣苔和红花大苞苣苔的多个居群形态特征对比和地理分布信息整理后发现,二者的形态特征有一定的差异,但仅依据花冠颜色作为种一级分类单位的界限并不恰当,综合考虑形态和地理分布特征,故提出将红花大苞苣苔处理为白花大苞苣苔的变种。依据2018年International Code of Nomenclature for Algae,Fungi,and Plants(Shenzhen Code)中的规定和建议,该文提出一个新组合兼新等级名称Anna ophiorrhizoides(Hemsl.)
