The paper proposes a novel approach for formationcontainment control based on a dynamic event-triggering mechanism for multi-agent systems.The leader-leader and follower-follower communications are reduced by utilizing the distributed dynamic event-triggered framework.We consider two separate sets of design parameters:one set comprising control and dynamic event-triggering parameters for the leaders and a second set similar to the first one with different values for the followers.The proposed algorithm includes two novel stages of codesign optimization to simultaneously compute the two sets of parameters.The design optimizations are convex and use the weighted sum approach to enable a structured trade-off between the formation-containment convergence rate and associated communications.Simulations based on non-holonomic mobile robot multi-agent systems quantify the effectiveness of the proposed approach. 展开更多

The paper develops a novel framework of consensus control with fault-estimation-in-the-loop for multi-agent systems(MASs)in the presence of faults.A dynamic event-triggered protocol(DETP)by adding an auxiliary variable is utilized to improve the utilization of communication resources.First,a novel estimator with a noise bias is put forward to estimate the existed fault and then a consensus controller with fault compensation(FC)is adopted to realize the demand of reliability and safety of addressed MASs.Subsequently,a novel consensus control framework with fault-estimation-in-the-loop is developed to achieve the predetermined consensus performance with the l_(2)-l_(∞)constraint by employing the variance analysis and the Lyapunov stability approaches.Furthermore,the desired estimator and controller gains are obtained in light of the solution to an algebraic matrix equation and a linear matrix inequality in a recursive way,respectively.Finally,a simulation result is employed to verify the usefulness of the proposed design framework. 展开更多

This paper aims to establish the finite-time adaptive consensus criterion for a class of MASs with nonlinear dynamics. Traditionally, the finite-time consensus criterion is often established based on the prior information on Lipschitz constants and the eigenvalues of Laplacian matrix. However, it is difficult to acquire the above prior information for most real-world engineering systems. To overcome the above difficulty, this paper develops the finite-time consensus criteria for a class of MASs with nonlinear dynamics via adaptive technique. In detail, we design the finite-time distributed node-based and edge-based adaptive consensus protocols for a class of MASs with fixed and switching topologies. Numerical simulations are also given to validate the proposed finite-time adaptive consensus criterion. 展开更多

Cyber attacks pose severe threats on synchronization of multi-agent systems.Deception attack,as a typical type of cyber attack,can bypass the surveillance of the attack detection mechanism silently,resulting in a heavy loss.Therefore,the problem of mean-square bounded synchronization in multi-agent systems subject to deception attacks is investigated in this paper.The control signals can be replaced with false data from controllerto-actuator channels or the controller.The success of the attack is measured through a stochastic variable.A distributed impulsive controller using a pinning strategy is redesigned,which ensures that mean-square bounded synchronization is achieved in the presence of deception attacks.Some sufficient conditions are derived,in which upper bounds of the synchronization error are given.Finally,two numerical simulations with symmetric and asymmetric network topologies are given to illustrate the theoretical results. 展开更多

This paper investigates the differentially private problem of the average consensus for a class of discrete-time multi-agent network systems(MANSs). Based on the MANSs,a new distributed differentially private consensus algorithm(DPCA) is developed. To avoid continuous communication between neighboring agents, a kind of intermittent communication strategy depending on an event-triggered function is established in our DPCA. Based on our algorithm, we carry out the detailed analysis including its convergence, its accuracy, its privacy and the trade-off between the accuracy and the privacy level, respectively. It is found that our algorithm preserves the privacy of initial states of all agents in the whole process of consensus computation. The trade-off motivates us to find the best achievable accuracy of our algorithm under the free parameters and the fixed privacy level. Finally, numerical experiment results testify the validity of our theoretical analysis. 展开更多

Unlike conventional power systems, the upcoming energy internet U+0028 EI U+0029 emphasizes comprehensive utilization of energy in the whole power system by coordinating multi-microgrids, which also brings new challenge for the energy management. To address this issue, this paper proposes a novel consensus-based distributed approach based on multi-agent framework to solve the energy management problem of the energy internet, which only requires local information exchange among neighboring agents. Correspondingly, two consensus algorithms are presented, one of which drives the incremental cost of each distributed generator U+0028 DG U+0029 converge to the state of the leader agent-energy router, and the other one is used to estimate the global power mismatch, which is a first-order average consensus algorithm modified by a correction term. In addition, in order to meet the supply-demand balance, an effective control strategy for the energy router is proposed to accurately calculate the power exchange between the microgrid and the main grid. Finally, simulation results within a 7-bus test system are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. © 2014 Chinese Association of Automation. 展开更多

This paper investigates a time-varying anti-disturbance formation problem for a group of quadrotor aircrafts with time-varying uncertainties and a directed interaction topology.A novel Finite-Time Convergent Extended State Observer(FTCESO)based fully-distributed formation control scheme is proposed to enhance the disturbance rejection and the formation tracking performances for networked quadrotors.By adopting the hierarchical control strategy,the multiquadrotor system is separated into two subsystems:the outer-loop cooperative subsystem and the inner-loop attitude subsystem.In the outer-loop subsystem,with the estimation of disturbing forces and uncertain dynamics from FTCESOs,an adaptive consensus theory based cooperative controller is exploited to ensure the multiple quadrotors form and maintain a time-varying pattern relying only on the positions of the neighboring aircrafts.In the inner-loop subsystem,the desired attitude generated by the cooperative control law is stably tracked under a FTCESO-based attitude controller in a finite time.Based on a detailed algorithm to specify the cooperative control protocol,the feasibility condition to achieve the time-varying anti-disturbance formation tracking is derived and the rigorous analysis of the whole closed-loop multi-quadrotor system is given.Some numerical examples are conducted to intuitively demonstrate the effectiveness and the improvements of the proposed control framework. 展开更多

And the parameter un- certainty is assmned to be norm-bounded. A consensus protocol is designed based on the event-triggered strategy to make the multi-agent systems achieve consensus without continuous communication among agents. Each agent only needs to observe its own state to determine its own triggering instants under the triggering function in this paper. In addition, a sufficient condition for the existence of the event- triggered consensus protocol is derived and presented in terms of the linear matrix inequality. This paper is focused on formability of multi-agent systems (MASs). The problem is concerned with the existence of a protocol that has the ability to drive the MAS involved to the desired formation, and thus, is of essential importance in designing formation protocols. Formability of an MAS depends on several key factors: agents' dynamic structures, connectivity topology, properties of the desired formation and the admissible control set. Agents of the MASs considered here are described by a general continuous linear time-invariant (LTI) model. By using the matrix analysis and algebraic graph theory, some necessary and sufficient conditions on formability of LTI-MASs are obtained. These conditions characterize in some sense the relationship of formability, connectivity topology, formation properties and agent dynamics with respect to some typical and widely used admissible protocol sets. 展开更多
