We show that the states of the second-order system will be stabilized to a region containing the origin. The radius of this region is determined by the control parameters and can be rendered as small as desired. The rigorous stability analysis is also given. Compared with the conventional PD control law, the finite-time control law yields a better disturbance rejection performance. Numerical simulation results show the effectiveness of the method.展开更多

Characteristic finite difference schemes for two kinds of boundary value problems are put forward. By using the thick and thin grids to form a complete set and treating the product threefold-quadratic interpolation, variable time step method with the boundary condition, calculus of variations and the theory of prior estimates and techniques, the optimal error estimates in L2 norm are derived in the approximate solutions.展开更多

Firstly, a deky-dependent bounded real lemma(BRL) of the time-deky descriptorsystems is presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs) by using a descriptor modeltransformation of the system and by taking a new Lyapunov-Krasovsii functional. The introducedfunctional does not require bounding for cross terms, so it has less conservation. Secondly, withthe help of the obtained bounded real lemma, a sufficient condition for the existence of a newdeky-dependent H-infinity state-feedback controller is shown in terms of nonlinear matrixinequalities and the solvability of the problem can be obtained by using an iterative algorithminvolving convex optimization. In this paper,the flight formation control problem of a group of quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) with parametric uncertainties and external disturbances is studied.Unitquaternions are used to represent the ...In this paper,the flight formation control problem of a group of quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) with parametric uncertainties and external disturbances is studied.Unitquaternions are used to represent the attitudes of the quadrotor UAVs.Separating the model into a translational subsystem and a rotational subsystem,an intermediary control input is introduced to track a desired velocity and extract desired orientations.Then considering the internal parametric uncertainties and external disturbances of the quadrotor UAVs,the priori-bounded intermediary adaptive control input is designed for velocity tracking and formation keeping,by which the bounded control thrust and the desired orientation can be extracted.Thereafter,an adaptive control torque input is designed for the rotational subsystem to track the desired orientation.With the proposed control scheme,the desired velocity is tracked and a desired formation shape is built up.Global stability of the closed-loop system is proven via Lyapunov-based stability analysis.Numerical simulation results are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.展开更多

In this paper, not only the existence of four types of bounded waves: periodic waves, compacton-like waves, kink-like waves, regular solitary waves, is shown, but also their explicit expressions or implicit expressions are given for the caseα2 < 0. In the field of civil engineering, magnetorheological fluid (MRF) damper-based semi-active control systems have received considerable attention for use in protecting structures from natural hazards such as strong ea...In the field of civil engineering, magnetorheological fluid (MRF) damper-based semi-active control systems have received considerable attention for use in protecting structures from natural hazards such as strong earthquakes and high winds. In this paper, the MRF damper-based semi-active control system is applied to a long-span spatially extended structure and its feasibility is discussed. Meanwhile, a _trust-region method based instantaneous optimal semi-active control algorithm (TIOC) is proposed to improve the performance of the semi-active control system in a multiple damper situation. The proposed TIOC describes the control process as a bounded constraint optimization problem, in which an optimal semi- active control force vector is solved by the trust-region method in every control step to minimize the structural responses. A numerical example of a railway station roof structure installed with MRF-04K dampers is presented. First, a modified Bouc- Wen model is utilized to describe the behavior of the selected MRF-04K damper. Then, two semi-active control systems, including the well-known clipped-optimal controller and the proposed TIOC controller, are considered. Based on the characteristics of the long-span spatially extended structure, the performance of the control system is evaluated under uniform earthquake excitation and travelling-wave excitation with different apparent velocities. The simulation results indicate that the MR fluid damper-based semi-active control systems have the potential to mitigate the responses of full-scale long-span spatially extended structures under earthquake hazards. The superiority of the proposed TIOC controller is demonstrated by comparing its control effectiveness with the clipped-optimal controller for several different cases.展开更多
