AIM: To investigate the associations between the polymorphisms of cell cycle pathway genes and the risk of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). METHODS: We enrolled 1127 cases newly diagnosed with HCC from the Tumor Hospita...AIM: To investigate the associations between the polymorphisms of cell cycle pathway genes and the risk of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). METHODS: We enrolled 1127 cases newly diagnosed with HCC from the Tumor Hospital of Guangxi Medical University and 1200 non-tumor patients from the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University. General demographic characteristics, behavioral information, and hematological indices were collected by unified questionnaires. Genomic DNA was isolatedfrom peripheral venous blood using Phenol-Chloroform. The genotyping was performed using the Sequenom Mass ARRAY i PLEX genotyping method. The association between genetic polymorphisms and risk of HCC was shown by P-value and the odd ratio(OR) with 95% confidence interval(CI) using the unconditional logistic regression after adjusting for age, sex, nationality, smoking, drinking, family history of HCC, and hepatitis B virus(HBV) infection. Moreover, stratified analysis was conducted on the basis of the status of HBV infection, smoking, and alcohol drinking.RESULTS: The HCC risk was lower in patients with the MCM4 rs2305952 CC(OR = 0.22, 95%CI: 0.08-0.63, P = 0.01) and with the CHEK1 rs515255 TC, TT, TC/TT(OR = 0.73, 95%CI: 0.56-0.96, P = 0.02; OR = 0.67, 95%CI: 0.46-0.97, P = 0.04; OR = 0.72, 95%CI: 0.56-0.92, P = 0.01, respectively). Conversely, the HCC risk was higher in patients with the KAT2 B rs17006625 GG(OR = 1.64, 95%CI: 1.01-2.64, P = 0.04). In addition, the risk was markedly lower for those who were carriers of MCM4 rs2305952 CC and were also HBs Ag-positive and non-drinking and nonsmoking(P < 0.05, respectively) and for those who were carriers of CHEK1 rs515255 TC, TT, TC/TT and were also HBs Ag-negative and non-drinking(P < 0.05, respectively). Moreover, the risk was higher for those who were carriers of KAT2 B rs17006625 GG and were also HBs Ag-negative(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION: Of 12 cell cycle pathway genes, MCM4, CHEK1 and KAT2 B polymorphisms may be associated with the risk of HCC.展开更多
The authors present new paleomagnetic results obtained at the Meishan Permian Triassic (P/T) boundary section, Changxing County, Zhejiang Province. 330 samples in Changxing Group of Permian, 9 samples at P/T boundary...The authors present new paleomagnetic results obtained at the Meishan Permian Triassic (P/T) boundary section, Changxing County, Zhejiang Province. 330 samples in Changxing Group of Permian, 9 samples at P/T boundary, and 25 samples in Qinglong Group of Triassic are studied. Thermal and alternative filed demagnetization isolated a stable magnetization from most samples. This stable magnetization was thought to be acquired at or close to the time of formation of the rocks. The constructed polarity column shows that the bottom of the sampling section is forming a short reversed polarity. Above this short reversed polarity, there is a normal polarity, which lasts about 1.0 Ma. Below this short reversed polarity, are present 6 normal polarities and 7 reversed polarities between the upper Lower Changxing and Upper Changxing Group. Near the P/T boundary, the magnetization polarity transfers from reversal to normal, and the normal polarity may characterize the rest of the section. Susceptibility measurement of 550 samples shows a sharp change at the P/T boundary and a high correspondence with the minor frequency cycle of sedimentary. The spectrum of susceptibility indicates that there are 4 sedimentary cycles during 252-248 Ma in the section.展开更多

The influences of molecular structure, donor, acceptor and the frequency of external field on β and γ, and the relationship between γ and the number of thiophene rings (i. e. conjugated chain length) have been studied using INDO/SCI methods combined with sum-overstate (SOS) formula. The calculated results show that γ is proportional to 2.69 power of the chain length of the conjugated molecular bonds when the length is not quite long.展开更多

If the curvature is positive, then this would lead t...Based on the latest Planck surveys, the universe is close to being remarkably flat, and yet, within observational error, there is still room for a slight curvature. If the curvature is positive, then this would lead to a closed universe, as well as allow for a big bounce scenario. Working within these assumptions, and using a simple model, we predict that the cosmos may have a positive curvature in the amount, <span style="white-space:nowrap;"><span style="white-space:nowrap;">Ω<sub>0</sub>=1.001802</span></span>, a value within current observational bounds. For the scaling laws associated with the density parameters in Friedmann’s equations, we will assume a susceptibility model for space, where, <img src="Edit_18751d6f-dbfa-47ba-be7c-8298073a34fd.png" alt="" style="white-space:normal;" />, equals the smeared cosmic susceptibility. If we allow the <img src="Edit_18751d6f-dbfa-47ba-be7c-8298073a34fd.png" alt="" /> to <em>decrease with increasing</em> cosmic scale parameter, “<em>a</em>”, then we can predict a maximum Hubble volume, with minimum CMB temperature for the voids, before contraction begins, as well as a minimum volume, with maximum CMB temperature, when expansion starts.
