Three thermodynamic calculation formulas are analyzed to deal with this problem. The lowering of the freezing point of the inhibitors △T is used to calculate the formation temperature of natural gas hydrates. This is considered to be a good approach because it is not limited by what kind and what concentration of inhibitors one uses. Besides, the rate of lowering of the freezing point could be easily measured. The result of testing methanol and mono-ethylene glycol in a reactor shows that adding 10% inhibitors to the reactor can prevent the hydrates formation. Kinetic inhibitors are favored in the present research. They are divided into two types, polymer and surface-active agents. Their characteristics, mechanisms, and application prospect are separately discussed. Polymer inhibitors exhibit better efficiency. The result of field application of VC-713 inhibiter is also given in this article. In practice, the combination of thermodynamic inhibitors and kinetic inhibitors gives better result.展开更多

In particular, the electrolyte com...As one of the most important components of the vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB), the electrolyte can impose a significant impact on cell properties, performance and capital cost. In particular, the electrolyte composition will influence energy density, operating temperature range and the practical applications of the VRFB. Various approaches to increase the energy density and operating temperature range have been proposed. The presence of electrolyte impurities, or the addition of a small amount of other chemical species into the vanadium solution can alter the stability of the electrolyte and influence cell perfor- mance, operating temperature range, energy density, electrochemical kinetics and cost effectiveness. This review provides a detailed overview of research on electrolyte additives including stabilizing agents, im- mobilizing agents, kinetic enhancers, as well as electrolyte impurities and chemical reductants that can be used for different purposes in the VRFBs.展开更多
Comprehensive Summary,Valbenazine(Ingrezza),a potent and highly selective inhibitor of vesicular monoamine transporter type 2(VMAT2)through the active metabolite hydrotetrabenazine(HTBZ),has been approved for the trea...Comprehensive Summary,Valbenazine(Ingrezza),a potent and highly selective inhibitor of vesicular monoamine transporter type 2(VMAT2)through the active metabolite hydrotetrabenazine(HTBZ),has been approved for the treatment of tardive dyskinesia and,very recently,for chorea,which is associated with Huntington's disease.Despite numerous synthetic efforts dedicated to the synthesis of HTBZ,the industrial preparation of valbenazine uses dihydroisoquinoline as a starting material and the chiral resolution of racemic HTBZ derived from ketone reduction.Herein,we present a practical synthesis of HTBZ and valbenazine featuring a highly stereoselective 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition and enzymatic kinetic resolution.The cascade process includes cycloaddition,N—O bond cleavage,and lactamization,which proved to be operationally simple.The allure of the enzymatic resolution developed in this work offers a rapid access toward affording tetrahydroisoquinoline(THIQ)-fused piperidine in the production of medically significant compounds,such as yohimbine and reserpine.展开更多
