These derivatives can be used in the analytical continuation application. For the downward continuation of gravity anomaly, the Taylor series approach developed in the paper is equivalent theoretically to but more efficient and storage-saving computationally than the well-known gradient operator approach. Numerical simulation shows that Taylor series expansion constructed by the derived formulas for the radial derivatives of gravity disturbance is still convergent for height up to 4 km.展开更多

Geotechnical analyses were carried out to examine the contributions of engineering geological properties of subgrade soils to the failure of the Akure-Ikere Ekiti road,Southwestern Nigeria.Field observations revealed ...Geotechnical analyses were carried out to examine the contributions of engineering geological properties of subgrade soils to the failure of the Akure-Ikere Ekiti road,Southwestern Nigeria.Field observations revealed that the road is in a very poor state of serious deformation and disrepair as most parts of the road alignment have failed.The alignment of the studied road is predominantly underlain by Granite,Charnockites,and Migmatites.Laboratory tests results showed that the natural moisture content ranges from 10.98 to 21.4%,liquid limit from 22.8 to 47.7%,plastic limit from 19.2 to 24.6,plasticity index 3.6 to 26.3%.The grain size analysis revealed that the amount of fines ranges from 15.9 to 49%.Others are linear shrinkage,between 1.4 and 10%,free swell between 25 and 46%,maximum dry density from 1593 to 2016 kg/m,and CBR between 5 and 48%.The specific gravity ranges from 2.64 to 2.74.With reference to AASHTO classification,5% of the samples was classified as A-4,15% classified as A-2-4,40% classified as A-6,while 40% classified as A-7-6.The dominance of fair-to-good California bearing ratio,fair to good maximum dry density,high linear shrinkage and A-7-6,A-6,and A-2-4 soil groups have combined to give fair-to-good geotechnical properties to the studied soils.Generally,the fair to good geotechnical properties of soil of the road under study is an indication that the contribution of subgrade soil to the failure of the highway is negligible.The total breakdown of the road can be traced to substandard engineering specifications which are complemented by a poor drainage system.展开更多

The mice were irradiated with ionizing （whole body irradiation） and laser radiation, separately one by one in a special frame device. Laser radiation in the dose 1 mJ/cm^2 irradiated only the back of a mouse, or both the back and the abdomen of mice. In case of combined irradiation of mice, the time interval between two types of irradiation did not exceed 30 min. First, the mice were exposed to y-radiation then to laser radiation. The method of the laser radiation-protection of biological subjects contributes to an increase in the viability of mice, prevents the damages of skin and also increases the mitotic activity of mice bone marrow cells.展开更多

The author of this communication based his approach to the gravitation on Isaac Newton＇s law of the universal gravitation and related quantities, i.e. gravitational forces of matter objects, distance and motion. Namely on the fact, that the gravitation force is - as well as the inertia, mass, space ＂occupied＂ and other properties are - principal features/attributes/properties of matter objects. Gravitation is an additive property of matter objects. Slurry pipe jacking was firmly established as a special method for the non-disruptive construction of underground pipelines of sewage systems. This method utilizes mud slurry that is formed around the pipes in order to stabilize the surrounding soil. In the pipe roof method the tubing elements that are constructed by slurry pipe jacking are near each other longitudinally, and create a rigid and stable lining before the excavation of the main tunnel. This paper discusses ＇the application of a slurry pipe jacking system on ＇the pipe roof method by means of numerical analysis. Because of the rigid behavior of the lining, the results show little subsidence, making this method a reliable method of constructing large tunnels with small cover in an urban area.展开更多

This method involves mixing 0.5 weight percent of high density polyethylene binder with 60 volume percent uranium dioxide spheres and 40 volume percent tungsten powders. Initially, hafnium oxide spheres were used as a surrogate for uranium dioxide spheres. The HfO2/W/PE powders were thoroughly mixed in a Turbula, then mixed on a hot plate above the drop point of the binder. These powders were then densified using spark plasma sintering. Microstructure was evaluated using scanning electron microscopy, density was measured and hardness measurements were made. Initial carbon content of the powders were measured and carbon content of the sintered materials was measured. Subsequently, W/UO2/Binder powders were mixed using the same methodology to ensure the process could be used for this system. These powders were sintered using hot isostatic pressing and microstructures evaluated. The resultant microstructures contained uniform distribution of HfO2 and UO2 particles in the tungsten matrix with very low carbon content.展开更多

The ultrafine activity of these progeny amounts up to about l 0 percent of the total activity （attached and ultrafine）, but is considered to yield about 50 percent of the total radiation dose. Therefore, measurements of ultrafine fraction are essential for the estimation of radiation dose. The current study presents measured data on the total equilibrium equivalent concentration （EEC） and ultrafine equilibrium equivalent concentration （EECUn）, ultrafine fraction （fb）, attached and unattached activity size distributions of radon progeny in the low ventilated rooms at Minia University, Minia city, Egypt. A screen diffusion battery was used for collection the ultrafine fraction and measuring the total activity concentration of radon progeny. The attached activity size distribution of 214pb is determined by using a low pressure cascade impactor. The EEC of radon progeny varied between 1.3 and 18.9 Bq/m3 with a mean value of 5.2 ± 0.48 Bq/m2. The mean activity thermodynamic diameter （AMTD） ofultrafine of radon progeny was determined to be 1.26 nm with relative mean geometric standard deviations （GSD） of 1.3. The ultrafine fraction of radon progeny, fb, has a range 0.01 to 0.21 with an average of 0.08 ± 0.03. A relative mean GSD of 2.7 was determined for attached 2Lapb at a mean active median aerodynamic diameter （AMD） of 350 nm. Based on the above experimental results, the deposition fractions have been evaluated in each air way generation through the human lung by applying a lung deposition model. The bronchial deposition efficiencies of particles in the size range of attached radon progeny were found to be lower than those of ultrafine progeny. The effect of radon progeny deposition by adult male has been also studied for various levels of physical exertion. The dose conversion factor has been discussed as a function of fb.展开更多

The bronze chloride disease was obtained treating commercial bronzes with HCI 37%, for 190 h. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and optical images taken on treated samples show the formation of a CuCIJCu2CI2 patina of about 300 m Laser ablation reduces in both medium the patina thickness at few microns without changing the chemical composition of bronze. X-ray analysis show the most effectiveness of ablation procedure in marine water where its only effect is the patina reduction without introducing changes in bronze chemical composition. Ablation in air, instead, reduces the patina but favors the adsorption of air oxygen and carbon on sample surfaces and a progressive ＂carbonization＂ of samples.展开更多

文摘Despite Pluto’s demotion to dwarf planet status,people are still attached to it.Scientists combined observations of Pluto from NASA’s New Horizons probe with observations of comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko from the European Space Agency’s Rosetta probe and found that Pluto’s nitrogen abundance matched the pattern of about a billion comets,which led to the theory that Pluto is made of about a billion comets.Yet they don’t know exactly when or where these comets originated.By studying the origin and orbit of comets,the author of this paper found that the material that condensed Pluto was mainly comets and dust ejected by Neptune,and the Kuiper Belt objects were condensed by material ejected by Neptune toward the outer side of its orbit.

All forces in the universe present in the universe of life： force of the thinking-universal gravitation and universal repulsion, electromagnetic interaction, bond force, strong interaction, quark confinement and weak interaction. The united state of these forces is controlled by the thinking and breathing motion, which is capable of changing from 3-, 2- and 1-dimensional states to a 0-dimensional state.
文摘This paper presents a current-mode universal biquad employing only positive type DVCCs(differential voltage current conveyors).The circuit enables LP(low-pass),BP(band-pass),HP(high-pass),BS(band-stop)and AP(all-pass)responses by the selection and addition of the input and output currents without any component matching constraints.Moreover the circuit parametersω0 and Q can be set orthogonally adjusting the circuit components.A design example is given together with simulation results by PSPICE.
文摘A system of mutually interacting point-mass objects is considered.All objects act on each other with mutual forces.A consistent relativity of motion based on the elimination of the observer is introduced.The center of inertia of the entire system is a common reference point.Central and mutual quantities are defined and the relationship between them is derived.A simple method of numerical approximation of the evolution of the central motion is presented.The scale invariance of the classical n-body problem is used to challenge the physical correctness of the problem formulation.Subsequently,a hypothesis is expressed about the extension of Coulomb’s law as well as Newton’s law of gravity.The consequences of the hypothesis are illustrated by the simulation of the helium-2 atom and the simulation of the motion of the stars S2,S4716 in the vicinity of the black hole in the core of our galaxy.
文摘Geotechnical analyses were carried out to examine the contributions of engineering geological properties of subgrade soils to the failure of the Akure-Ikere Ekiti road,Southwestern Nigeria.Field observations revealed that the road is in a very poor state of serious deformation and disrepair as most parts of the road alignment have failed.The alignment of the studied road is predominantly underlain by Granite,Charnockites,and Migmatites.Laboratory tests results showed that the natural moisture content ranges from 10.98 to 21.4%,liquid limit from 22.8 to 47.7%,plastic limit from 19.2 to 24.6,plasticity index 3.6 to 26.3%.The grain size analysis revealed that the amount of fines ranges from 15.9 to 49%.Others are linear shrinkage,between 1.4 and 10%,free swell between 25 and 46%,maximum dry density from 1593 to 2016 kg/m,and CBR between 5 and 48%.The specific gravity ranges from 2.64 to 2.74.With reference to AASHTO classification,5% of the samples was classified as A-4,15% classified as A-2-4,40% classified as A-6,while 40% classified as A-7-6.The dominance of fair-to-good California bearing ratio,fair to good maximum dry density,high linear shrinkage and A-7-6,A-6,and A-2-4 soil groups have combined to give fair-to-good geotechnical properties to the studied soils.Generally,the fair to good geotechnical properties of soil of the road under study is an indication that the contribution of subgrade soil to the failure of the highway is negligible.The total breakdown of the road can be traced to substandard engineering specifications which are complemented by a poor drainage system.
文摘Laser irradiation device for the protection of biological objects from the action of ionizing radiation to be used in practice has been manufactured （invention patent RU 2 428 228 C2）. Research of the action of y-radiation itself as well as of the combined action of laser devices on survival, weight, skin and the general mitotic index of the bone marrow cells （mitotic index of all nucleus-containing cells of the bone marrow） of C57BL/6 experimental young mice was carried out. The mice were irradiated with ionizing （whole body irradiation） and laser radiation, separately one by one in a special frame device. Laser radiation in the dose 1 mJ/cm^2 irradiated only the back of a mouse, or both the back and the abdomen of mice. In case of combined irradiation of mice, the time interval between two types of irradiation did not exceed 30 min. First, the mice were exposed to y-radiation then to laser radiation. The method of the laser radiation-protection of biological subjects contributes to an increase in the viability of mice, prevents the damages of skin and also increases the mitotic activity of mice bone marrow cells.

In particular, an in-depth analysis related to the actual physical meaning of Planck＇s unit is given in the framework of the banded distribution of physical quantities. From this analysis the richness and flexibility of the model＇s description capabilities is derived, with particular attention devoted to the ability of using the same relationships for describing both microcosm and macrocosm and also young and old universe. Finally the cited descriptive capabilities are used for deriving a very simple and intuitive explanation of the ＂darkness＂ of dark matter.

文摘Gravitation is one of the basic phenomena of the world. Tremendous number of theoretical works on origin, nature, essentials, consequences, etc. of the gravitation and related phenomena were published so far. The most prominent ones are based on the Albert Einstein＇s general theory of relativity. The author of this communication based his approach to the gravitation on Isaac Newton＇s law of the universal gravitation and related quantities, i.e. gravitational forces of matter objects, distance and motion. Namely on the fact, that the gravitation force is - as well as the inertia, mass, space ＂occupied＂ and other properties are - principal features/attributes/properties of matter objects. Gravitation is an additive property of matter objects. Taking into account other positivistic quantities like mass of the Earth, standard acceleration of gravity, and the value of the atomic unit of mass, the author defined a gravitational force of atomic unit （or ＂the Gravitational Force Quantum＂） as a gravitational force which exerts one atomic unit of Earth＇s mass on 1 kilogram of a mass on Earth＇s surface, and he calculated its value： GFO = 1.4958 × 10^-54 N. This quantity can be useful for further development of the ＂quantum mechanical＂ approach to the description and general notion about the world.
文摘Tunnels in an urban area, in many cases, are constructed in soft ground which contains underground water, near existing facilities and structures. Structural stability for the tunnel and also the nearby structures and facilities is vital in this kind of work. Slurry pipe jacking was firmly established as a special method for the non-disruptive construction of underground pipelines of sewage systems. This method utilizes mud slurry that is formed around the pipes in order to stabilize the surrounding soil. In the pipe roof method the tubing elements that are constructed by slurry pipe jacking are near each other longitudinally, and create a rigid and stable lining before the excavation of the main tunnel. This paper discusses ＇the application of a slurry pipe jacking system on ＇the pipe roof method by means of numerical analysis. Because of the rigid behavior of the lining, the results show little subsidence, making this method a reliable method of constructing large tunnels with small cover in an urban area.
文摘We report a method to produce a uniform mixture of uranium dioxide spherical particles in a tungsten matrix. This method involves mixing 0.5 weight percent of high density polyethylene binder with 60 volume percent uranium dioxide spheres and 40 volume percent tungsten powders. Initially, hafnium oxide spheres were used as a surrogate for uranium dioxide spheres. The HfO2/W/PE powders were thoroughly mixed in a Turbula, then mixed on a hot plate above the drop point of the binder. These powders were then densified using spark plasma sintering. Microstructure was evaluated using scanning electron microscopy, density was measured and hardness measurements were made. Initial carbon content of the powders were measured and carbon content of the sintered materials was measured. Subsequently, W/UO2/Binder powders were mixed using the same methodology to ensure the process could be used for this system. These powders were sintered using hot isostatic pressing and microstructures evaluated. The resultant microstructures contained uniform distribution of HfO2 and UO2 particles in the tungsten matrix with very low carbon content.
文摘The service provided by the GC(Gamma Cameras)in the Nuclear Medicine departments fails because of their breakdown,generally due to the associated electronics and not to the physical detection components.For this reason,it was decided to develop an electronic system that allows the recovery and optimization of disused GC,starting with the design of the preamplifier for a PMT(photomultiplier tube).The circuit was designed and simulated and the list of components necessary for the construction of the preamplifier was generated,as well as the printed circuit board was designed for its assembly.By simulating the preamplifier this worked in linear mode.This determines that the amplitude of the output signal is proportional to the amount of charge delivered by the detector.This card allows an automatic adjustment of the signals of the PMT as do the modern GC.
文摘Inhalation of 222Rn progeny in the domestic environment contributes the greatest fraction of the natural radiation exposure to the public. The ultrafine activity of these progeny amounts up to about l 0 percent of the total activity （attached and ultrafine）, but is considered to yield about 50 percent of the total radiation dose. Therefore, measurements of ultrafine fraction are essential for the estimation of radiation dose. The current study presents measured data on the total equilibrium equivalent concentration （EEC） and ultrafine equilibrium equivalent concentration （EECUn）, ultrafine fraction （fb）, attached and unattached activity size distributions of radon progeny in the low ventilated rooms at Minia University, Minia city, Egypt. A screen diffusion battery was used for collection the ultrafine fraction and measuring the total activity concentration of radon progeny. The attached activity size distribution of 214pb is determined by using a low pressure cascade impactor. The EEC of radon progeny varied between 1.3 and 18.9 Bq/m3 with a mean value of 5.2 ± 0.48 Bq/m2. The mean activity thermodynamic diameter （AMTD） ofultrafine of radon progeny was determined to be 1.26 nm with relative mean geometric standard deviations （GSD） of 1.3. The ultrafine fraction of radon progeny, fb, has a range 0.01 to 0.21 with an average of 0.08 ± 0.03. A relative mean GSD of 2.7 was determined for attached 2Lapb at a mean active median aerodynamic diameter （AMD） of 350 nm. Based on the above experimental results, the deposition fractions have been evaluated in each air way generation through the human lung by applying a lung deposition model. The bronchial deposition efficiencies of particles in the size range of attached radon progeny were found to be lower than those of ultrafine progeny. The effect of radon progeny deposition by adult male has been also studied for various levels of physical exertion. The dose conversion factor has been discussed as a function of fb.

文摘We present the results of laser ablations cleanness process on bronzes covered by a chloride patina in two different media： marine water and air. The bronze chloride disease was obtained treating commercial bronzes with HCI 37%, for 190 h. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and optical images taken on treated samples show the formation of a CuCIJCu2CI2 patina of about 300 m Laser ablation reduces in both medium the patina thickness at few microns without changing the chemical composition of bronze. X-ray analysis show the most effectiveness of ablation procedure in marine water where its only effect is the patina reduction without introducing changes in bronze chemical composition. Ablation in air, instead, reduces the patina but favors the adsorption of air oxygen and carbon on sample surfaces and a progressive ＂carbonization＂ of samples.
