With the continuous implementation of the PPP projects,due to the imperfection of relevant policies,the blindness of government subsidy is constantly emerging.Thus,it is important to put forward a practical approach for valuing the subsidies and risk.In this paper,the revenue subsidies model and traffic subsidies model are established.Then combined with practical cases,Monte Carlo simulation is used to get the value and probability of government subsidies under different compensation ways.On this basis,the influence of initial traffic volume and traffic growth rate on government subsidies and net present value of investors is analyzed.The research findings can provide theoretical guidance for the government to choose a reasonable way of subsidies,balance the risk of compensation,and formulate subsidies policies. 展开更多

The warheads such as missiles and artillery shells have a certain speed of motion during the explosion.Therefore,it is more practical to study the explosion damage of ammunition under motion.The different speeds of the projectiles have a certain influence on the temperature field generated by the explosion.In this paper,AUTODYN is used to simulate the process of projectile dynamic explosion.In the experiment,the TNT spherical bare charges with the TNT equivalent of 9.53kg and the projectile attack speed of 0,421,675,1020m/s were simulated in the infinite air domain.The temperature field temperature peaks and temperature decay laws at different charge rates and the multi-function regression fitting method were used to quantitatively study the functional relationship between the temperature and peak temperature correlation calculations of static and dynamic explosion temperature fields.The results show that the temperature distribution of the dynamic explosion temperature field is affected by the velocity of the charge,and the temperature distribution of the temperature field is different with the change of the charge velocity.Through the analysis and fitting of the simulation data,the temperature calculation formula of the static and dynamic explosion temperature field is obtained,which can better establish the relationship between the temperature peak of the static and dynamic explosion temperature field and various influencing factors,and use this function.Relational calculations can yield better results and meet the accuracy requirements of actual tests. 展开更多

The photovoltaic solar energy is comprised of many engineering disci-plines.Geotechnical engineering is one of those disciplines in which it has important functions in the solar photovoltaic technology and particularly for large scale projects which usually employed in open areas such as parks or deserts.The aim of this paper is to present in depth the role of the geotechnical engineering in the solar photovoltaic energy and clarifying the common challenges facing this technology in arid climate regions.It is found that the lack of specialised codes and specifi cations that needed for foundation design and in selecting the proper foundation types.This would significantly affect the development of this technology in terms of efficien-cy and performance of the proposed solar photovoltaic systems.The hot weather climate and induced stresses by wind speed are also critical issues that should be considered.In order to avoid the uncertainty of data such as soil properties,the use of numerical modelling techniques is an eff ective method to help determining the most proper parameters needed for design and analyse purposes. 展开更多

In recent decades,modified asphalt materials have been used in enhancing the traffic load on the roads.The main objective of this paper is to explore the modifi cation effect of direct coal liquefaction residue(DCLR)on as-phalt binders and investigate the effectiveness of DCLR in improving the performance of asphalt road.This paper prepared modifi ed petroleum as-phalt under diff erent process conditions and tested its penetration,softening point and ductility index.Based on the experimental data,according to gray correlation degree,the performance for the asphalt was compared.The performance for the modified asphalt is simulated and predicted using poly-nomial functions.The modifi ed asphalt was analyzed by FT-IR,TGA,SEM and HPLC.The results show that the optimal process conditions for DCLR modifi ed asphalt are shear mixing time of 45 min,shear mixing tempera-ture of 150℃ and shear mixing rate of 4000 r/min.The predicted fit with the experimental data of 0.993 further demonstrates the effectiveness of the method.The characterization results show no significant chemical change between the DCLR and the asphalt.DCLR can significantly improve the high temperature performance and water stability of the asphalt,but it has little impact on its low temperature performance. 展开更多

Assessing Occupational Exposure to Surface Contaminants in Kuwaiti Educational Buildings

The prevalence of surface contaminants,such as potentially harmful bacteria,within building environments in the State of Kuwait is not known.To the authors’knowledge,this article is the first of such a report.A total of 342 stool samples were collected from 46 secondary schools to evaluate indoor occurrences of E.coli bacteria within selected lavatory surfaces.After microbiological testing,the results for the spread of the E.coli bacteria were categorized by total count,sampling location dependency,contamination level comparison between genders,and lavatory fixtures(i.e.seat and squat toilets).The results revealed that 7 schools have a bacterial contamination problem,there is cross-contamination between surfaces in the lavatory stalls,the boys’lavatories were less sanitary than the girls’,and that the squat-style toilets are more contaminated than the seat-style.The results suggest that there is significant risk of spread of bacterial infection among students via contaminated hands and surfaces in the lavatory area in some schools.Thus,this study emphasizes the need to improve environmental hygiene and enhanced sanitation in these schools.In addition,conclusions can be drawn as to the effectiveness of the janitorial staff employed by the schools and the efficacy of the cleaning regime used in the lavatories.Furthermore,based on the findings,there are architectural design consequences as squat-style toilets might be excluded in lavatories designed for schools to be constructed in the future. 展开更多
