AIM:To compare the efficacy and safety of the transthoracic and transhiatal approaches for cancer of the esophagogastric junction.METHODS:An electronic and manual search of the literature was conducted in PubMed,EmBas...AIM:To compare the efficacy and safety of the transthoracic and transhiatal approaches for cancer of the esophagogastric junction.METHODS:An electronic and manual search of the literature was conducted in PubMed,EmBase and the Cochrane Library for articles published between March1998 and January 2013.The pooled data included the following parameters:duration of surgical time,blood loss,dissected lymph nodes,hospital stay time,anastomotic leakage,pulmonary complications,cardiovascular complications,30-d hospital mortality,and long-term survival.Sensitivity analysis was performed by excluding single studies.RESULTS:Eight studies including 1155 patients with cancer of the esophagogastric junction,with 639 patients in the transthoracic group and 516 in the transhiatal group,were pooled for this study.There were no significant differences between two groups concerning surgical time,blood loss,anastomotic leakage,or cardiovascular complications.Dissected lymph nodes also showed no significant differences between two groups in randomized controlled trials(RCTs)and nonRCTs.However,we did observe a shorter hospital stay(WMD=1.92,95%CI:1.63-2.22,P<0.00001),lower30-d hospital mortality(OR=3.21,95%CI:1.13-9.12,P=0.03),and decreased pulmonary complications(OR=2.95,95%CI:1.95-4.45,P<0.00001)in the transhiatal group.For overall survival,a potential survival benefit was achieved for typeⅢtumors with the transhiatal approach.CONCLUSION:The transhiatal approach for cancers of the esophagogastric junction,especially typesⅢ,should be recommended,and its long-term outcome benefits should be further evaluated.展开更多
The Karakoram Highway(KKH),a part of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor(CPEC),is a major highway connecting northern Pakistan to China.The inventorying and analysis of landslides along KKH are challenging because o...The Karakoram Highway(KKH),a part of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor(CPEC),is a major highway connecting northern Pakistan to China.The inventorying and analysis of landslides along KKH are challenging because of poor accessibility,vast study area,limited availability of ground-based datasets,and the complexity of landslide processes in the region.In order to preserve life,property,and infrastructure,and to enable the uninterrupted and efficient operation of the KKH,it is essential to strengthen measures for the prevention and control of geological disasters.In the present study,SBASInSAR(Small Baseline Subsets-Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar)was used to process 150 scenes of Sentinel 1-A images in the year 2017 along the Karakoram Highway.A total of 762 landslides,including 57 complex landslides,126 rock falls,167 debris slides,and 412 unstable slopes,ranging in size between 0.0017 and 10.63 km2 were identified.Moreover,this study also gains an inventory of 40 active glacier movements in this region.Landslide categorization,displacements characteristics,spatial distribution,and their relationship with various contributing factors have been successfully investigated along the entire KKH using image interpretation and frequency-area statistics.The criteria adopted for landslides categorization is presented in the study.The results showed that the 2-D ground deformation derived in Hunza valley echoes well with the general regional landslides characteristics.The spatial distribution analysis revealed that there are clumped distributions of landslides in the Gaizi,Tashkurgan,and Khunjerab in China,as well as in Hunza valley,and north of Chilas city in Pakistan.Statistical results indicated that these landslides mainly occur on south-facing slopes with a slope angle of 20°–45°and elevation relief of 550–2,100 m.Landslide development is also related to low vegetation cover and weathering effects in mountain gullies.Overall,our study provides scientific data support and theoretical references for p展开更多
Aqueous zinc-ion batteries(AZIBs)have attracted widespread attention due to the advantages of high safety and environmental friendliness.Although V_(2)O_(3) is a promising cathode,the strong electrostatic interaction ...Aqueous zinc-ion batteries(AZIBs)have attracted widespread attention due to the advantages of high safety and environmental friendliness.Although V_(2)O_(3) is a promising cathode,the strong electrostatic interaction between Zn^(2+) and V_(2)O_(3) crystal,and the sluggish reaction kinetics still limit their application in AZIBs.Herein,the oxygen defects rich V_(2)O_(3) with conducive poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)(PEDOT)shell(V_(2)O_(3)-Od@PEDOT)was fabricated for AZIBs by combining the sulfur-assisted thermal reduction and in-situ polymerization method.The introduced oxygen vacancies of V_(2)O_(3)–Od@PEDOT weaken the electrostatic interaction between Zn^(2+) and the host material,improving the interfacial electron transport,while the PEDOT coating enhances the structural stability and conductivity of V_(2)O_(3),thus accelerating the reaction kinetics.Based on the advantages,V_(2)O_(3)–Od@PEDOT electrode delivers a reversible capacity of 495 mAh·g^(−1) at 0.1 A·g^(−1),good rate capability(189 mAh·g^(−1)at 8.0 A·g^(−1)),and an impressive cycling stability with 90.1%capacity retention over 1000 cycles at 8.0 A·g^(−1).The strategy may provide a path for exploiting the other materials for high performance AZIBs.展开更多
