Purpose:To identify the risk factors for training-related lower extremity muscle injuries in young males by a non-invasive method of body composition analysis.Methods:A total of 282 healthy young male volunteers aged ...Purpose:To identify the risk factors for training-related lower extremity muscle injuries in young males by a non-invasive method of body composition analysis.Methods:A total of 282 healthy young male volunteers aged 18-20 years participated in this cohort study.Injury location,degree,and injury rate were adjusted by a questionnaire based on the overuse injury assessment methods used in epidemiological studies of sports injuries.The occurrence of training injuries is monitored and diagnosed by physicians and treated accordingly.The body composition was measured using the BodyStat QuadScan 4000 multifrequency Bio-impedance system at 5,50,100 and 200 kHz to obtain 4 impedance values.The Shapiro-Wilk test was used to check whether the data conformed to a normal distribution.Data of normal distribution were shown as mean±SD and analyzed by t-test,while those of non-normal distribution were shown as median(Q1,Q3)and analyzed by Wilcoxon rank sum test.The receiver operator characteristic curve and logistic regression analysis were performed to investigate risk factors for developing training-related lower extremity injuries and accuracy.Results:Among the 282 subjects,78(27.7%)developed training injuries.Lower extremity training injuries revealed the highest incidence,accounting for 23.4%(66 cases).These patients showed higher percentages of lean body mass(p=0.001),total body water(TBW,p=0.006),extracellular water(p=0.020)and intracellular water(p=0.010)as well as a larger ratio of basal metabolic rate/total weight(p=0.006),compared with those without lower extremity muscle injuries.On the contrary,the percentage of body fat(p=0.001)and body fat mass index(p=0.002)were lower.Logistic regression analysis showed that TBW percentage>65.35%(p=0.050,odds ratio=3.114)and 3rd space water>0.95%(p=0.045,odds ratio=2.342)were independent risk factors for lower extremity muscle injuries.Conclusion:TBW percentage and 3rd space water measured with bio-impedance method are potential risk factors for predicting the incidence of lower展开更多
Five new polychlorinated bibenzyls(1-5)along with 3 known compounds(6-8)were isolated from the stems and leaves of Rhododendron minutiflorum.The chemical structures of all the isolates were determined by spectroscopic...Five new polychlorinated bibenzyls(1-5)along with 3 known compounds(6-8)were isolated from the stems and leaves of Rhododendron minutiflorum.The chemical structures of all the isolates were determined by spectroscopic methods,and compounds 1 and 2 were further verified by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses.Compounds 1-5 were halogenated compounds which bear three to five chlorine atoms in their chemical structures.Biologi-cally,compounds 2,5 and 6 showed varying degrees of toxicity toward the Asian citrus psyllid(Diaphorina citri)with LD_(50) values 27.15,17.02 and 16.20 mg/L,respectively.These values were comparable to the positive control matrine(LD_(50)=11.86 mg/L),which were calculated using observations on day 6.Meanwhile,compound 4 hadα-glucosidase inhibitory activity with IC_(50) value of 17.87±0.74μM.展开更多

The f...The geometries of imidazole and its derivatives were respectively optimized by using ab initio method, and the molecular orbital energy levels and the charge densities were obtained for their optimum geometries. The frontier orbital energy levels, and the net charges of N (1) atom and the imidazole ring of those molecules were obtained with ab initio and SCC-DV-Xα methods. It was found that the inhibition properties of those compounds change with the highest occupied molecular orbital energy levels, and the net charges of N (1) atom. We took four iron atoms on the crystal plane (100) of α-iron as the surface which was used to study the adsorption towards the inhibitors. The adsorption models of the inhibitor to be adsorbed on the Fe-cluster surface were optimized with SCC-DV-Xα method. It turns out that the most favorable model is that the inhibitor molecule is adsorbed on the Fe-cluster surface in an inclined state. The calculation shows that the stabilization energies of the systems are well correlated with the inhibition efficiencies.展开更多
BACKGROUND Hyperthyroidism often leads to tachycardia,but there are also sporadic reports of hyperthyroidism with severe bradycardia,such as sick sinus syndrome(SSS)and atrioventricular block.These disorders are a cha...BACKGROUND Hyperthyroidism often leads to tachycardia,but there are also sporadic reports of hyperthyroidism with severe bradycardia,such as sick sinus syndrome(SSS)and atrioventricular block.These disorders are a challenge for clinicians.CASE SUMMARY We describe three cases of hyperthyroidism with SSS and found 31 similar cases in a PubMed literature search.Through the analysis of these 34 cases,we found 21 cases of atrioventricular block and 13 cases of SSS,with 67.6%of the patients experiencing bradycardia symptoms.After drug treatment,temporary pacemaker implantation,or anti-hyperthyroidism treatment,the bradycardia of 27 patients(79.4%)was relieved,and the median recovery time was 5.5(2-8)d.Only 7 cases(20.6%)needed permanent pacemaker implantation.CONCLUSION Patients with hyperthyroidism should be aware of the risk of severe bradycardia.In most cases,drug treatment or temporary pacemaker placement is recommended for initial treatment.If the bradycardia does not improve after 1 wk,a permanent pacemaker should be implanted.展开更多

A detailed analysis is presente...This paper focuses on the mechanism underlying the overall delay of a real-time video communication system from the time of capture at the encoder to the time of display at the decoder. A detailed analysis is presented to illustrate the delay problem. We then describe a statistically uniform intra-block refresh scheme for very low delay video communication. By scattering intra-blocks uniformly into continuous frames, the overall delay is significantly decreased, and object changes in the scene could be presented to the end user instantly. For comparison, the overall delay and the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) performance are tested. The experiment results show that an average of approximately 0.1 dB PSNR gain on average is obtained relative to random intra-macroblock refresh algorithm in H.264 JM, and the end-to-end delay performance is significantly improved.展开更多
Objective:To determine whether endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) can rapidly distinguish among lung cancer,tuberculosis and sarcodosis,and to explore its sensitivity and spec...Objective:To determine whether endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) can rapidly distinguish among lung cancer,tuberculosis and sarcodosis,and to explore its sensitivity and specificity.Methods:Clinical data of patients with enlarged mediastinal or hilar lymphadenopathy who underwent EBUS-TBNA at our hospital between September 1,2012 and June 30,2015 for were retrospectively analyzed.The sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value,and negative predicted value [including 95% confidence interval (CI)] were calculated..Results:A total of 299 lymph nodes from 201 patients underwent EBUS-TBNA were selected and no serious complications occurred.EBUS-TBNA showed a sensitivity of 87.9% (124/141) (95% CI:81%-92%),a specificity of 100.0% (124/124) (95% CI:97%-100%),and a negative predicted value of 41.3% (95% CI:23%-61%) in the detection of lung cancer.The sensitivity and specificity of diagnosis of mediastinal tuberculosis lymphadenitis were 72.4% (21/29) (95% CI:53%-87%) and 100.0% (95% CI:82%-100%);while sensitivity and specificity of diagnosis of sarcoidosis were 71.4% (5/7) (95% CI:29%-96%) and 100.0% (95% CI:91%-100%).Conclusions:The sensitivity and specificity of EBUS-TBNA do not significantly differ for a diagnosis of lung cancer versus tuberculosis or sarcodosis.展开更多
