The 360 feed and manure samples were collected from 150 animal farms in Jiangsu Province, China and analyzed for heavy metals. Concentrations of Zn and Cu in animal feeds were 15.9-2041.8 and undetected-392.1 mg/kg respectively, while Hg, As, Pb, Cd, and Cr in all feeds were below 10 mg/kg. Concentrations of Cu, Zn, and Cr in animal manures were 8.4-1726, 39.5-11379, and 1.0-1602 mg/kg respectively, while As, Cd, Hg, and Pb were 〈 10 mg/kg. The concentration of Cu, Zn, As and Cr in animal feed and manure were positively correlated (p 〈 0.001), but the Cd, Hg, and Pb were not statistically correlated between the feed and the manure. Concentrations of Cu and Zn were highest in pig feed and manure, followed by poultry and dairy feeds and manures. During 1990- 2008, Cu, Zn, As, Cr, Cd contents increased by 771%, 410%, 420%, 220%, and 63% in pig manure, 212%, 95%, 200%, 791%, and -63% in dairy manure, and 181%, 197%, 1500%, 261, and 196% in poultry manure. Most of the increases occurred from 2002 to 2008, which reflects the extensive use of feed additives after 2002. In contrast, Pb and Hg in manures continuously decreased from 1990 to 2008. The results suggest that the heavy metal contents in animal manure have been greatly increased over 18 years and the contribution of manures to soil should be considered. 展开更多

Danhong injection (DHI), a Chinese Materia Medica standardized product extracted from Radix Salviae miltiorrhizae and Flos Carthami tinctorii, is widely used in China for treating acute isch-emic stroke. In the present study, we explored the neuroprotective efficacy of DHI in a rat model of temporary middle cerebral artery ocdusion, and evaluated the potential mechanisms under-lying its effects. Pretreatment with DHI (0.9 and 1.8 mL/kg) resulted in a significantly smaller infarct volume and better neurological scores than pretreatment with saline. Furthermore, DHI significantly reduced the permeability of the blood-brain barrier, increased occludin protein expression and decreased neutrophil infiltration, as well as profoundly suppressing the upreg-ulation of matrix metallopeptidase-9 expression seen in rats that had received vehicle. Matrix metallopeptidase-2 expression was not affected by ischemia or DHI. Moreover, DHI (1.8 mL/kg) administered 3 hours after the onset of ischemia also improved neurological scores and reduced infarct size. Our results indicate that the neuroprotective efficacy of DHI in a rat model of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury is mediated by a protective effect on the blood-brain barrier and the reversal of neutrophil infiltration. 展开更多

The humification degree of peat is a significant climatic proxy for paleoclimate change.Using the alkali-extraction method,a time series of absorbance values of the Hani peatland,Northeast China,was determined,which is used as an indicator for the humification degree of peat.Combined with14C dating data of peat cellulose,and compared withδ18O andδ13C time series of the cellulose in the Hani peatland,the evidence for the existence of14 ka paleoclimate was provided.Higher humification degrees hint a warmer-wetter climate,and vice versa.It also reconstructs the four stages of Holocene climate evolution in this region:11.5–9.8 cal ka B.P.,warm and wet period;9.8–9.0 cal ka B.P.,cold and dry period;9.0–4.8 cal ka B.P.,warm and wet period;and 4.8–0 cal ka B.P.,warm-wet and dry-cold alternation period.Meanwhile,it is revealed that the abrupt climate shifts signals such as the "8.2 ka" event and the "4.2 ka" event.Results showed that the Hani peat humification degree is of sensitive response to paleoclimate change.Therefore,it is a feasible method to analyze the relationship between paleoclimate change and peat humification degree. 展开更多

The cutaneous wound in diabetic patients frequently encounters intractable pathogenic infections due to the hyperglycemia micromilieu which is conducive to bacterial growth and multiplication.Despite the extensive clinical use of antibiotics to treat bacterial infections,the emergence of drug-resistant and super pathogens as well as the potential side effects of antibiotics have elicited alarming challenges to public health.To address this daunting concern,we devise and develop a photo-activated cascade bio-heterojunctions(C-bio-HJs)for rapid sterilization and diabetic cutaneous regeneration.In the designed C-bio-HJs,photo-generated electron-hole pairs of graphite-phase carbon nitride(g-C_(3)N_(4))are effectively separated with the marriage of molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2)),which achieves the augmented photodynamic antibacterial effect.Moreover,glucose oxidase(GOx)tethered on the bio-HJs catalyzes glucose into hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2))in diabetic wounds for starvation therapy.Furthermore,Mo4+enables the catalysis of H_(2)O_(2)into a highly effective hydroxyl radical(⋅OH)for chemodynamic-photothermal combined antibacterial therapy.Both in vitro and in vivo results authenticate the cascading antibacterial properties and skin regeneration-promoting effects of the C-bio-HJs,which provide a facile strategy to combat diabetic wound healing through the synergistic GOx-primed dynamic therapies. 展开更多

资源环境承载力研究对区域可持续发展和人地关系协调具有重要意义。基于湖南省资源环境承载力的相关数据,从资源承载力、环境承载力和社会经济支撑力三方面建立评价指标体系,运用投影寻踪模型和障碍度模型对2005—2017年湖南省资源环境... 资源环境承载力研究对区域可持续发展和人地关系协调具有重要意义。基于湖南省资源环境承载力的相关数据,从资源承载力、环境承载力和社会经济支撑力三方面建立评价指标体系,运用投影寻踪模型和障碍度模型对2005—2017年湖南省资源环境承载力状况及其障碍因素进行分析,结果表明:1)总体上,湖南省资源环境承载力的投影值由2005年的0.7473波动上升到2017年的3.5241,资源环境承载力不断增强。2)就各子系统而言,湖南省资源承载力、环境承载力和社会经济支撑力均呈波动提升态势,其中环境承载力提升最快,其投影值由2005年的0.0752直线上升到2017年的2.9408;其次为资源承载力,其投影值由2005年的0.1731波动上升到2017年的2.0701;社会经济支撑力相对较慢,其投影值由2005年的0.3416波动增长到2017年的2.1717。3)2005—2017年,影响湖南省资源环境承载力的因素产生了一定变化,早期的主要因素为能源资源消耗高、污水处理水平低、自然生态用地规模不大、区域经济支撑水平不高等,近年来则逐渐转变为耕地保护压力加大、固体废弃物处理率不高、人地矛盾突出、环保投入不足等因素。 展开更多

It is charicaterized by hemiplegia, hemianopsia, aphasia, mouth askew and sever sequelae. It is considered that an ischemic disease without any specific treatment method and few effective drugs such as tPA (human tissue-type plasminogen activator) and Edarovone with specific therapeutic window will cause a lot of disadvantages if being used inaccurate. Root of Panax notoginseng (PN) which is one of traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs), was first found in “Shennong’s Classic of Materia Medica” around 200 AD. Panax notogineng saponins(PNS) is a multi-components mixture containing ginseng and saponins as the most important bioactive components which are commonly used in clinical treatment. Also, ginseng and saponins form the main components of many herbal medicines in the market, e.g., Xueshuantong injection [2], Xuesaitong injection [3], Xuesaitong soft capsule [4] and so on. The main monomers of Panax notoginseng saponins (PNS) are Ginsenoside-Rb1, Gensenoside-Rg1, Gensenoside-Re, Gensenoside-Rd and Panax notoginseng saponins-R1 [5]. In this review, we found some important points as well as shortcomings that require special consideration. Rapeseed(Brassica napus)is an oil crop grown worldwide,making it a key plant species in molecular breeding research.However,the complexity of its polyploid genome increases sequencing costs and reduces sequencing accuracy.Target capture coupled with high-throughput sequencing is an efficient approach for detecting genetic variation at genomic regions or loci of interest.In this study,588 resequenced accessions of rapeseed were used to develop a target capture sequencing SNP genotyping platform named BnaPan50T.The platform comprised 54,765,with 54,058 resequenced markers from the pan-genome,and 855 variant trait-associated markers for 12 agronomic traits.The capture quality of BnaPan50T was demonstrated well in 12 typical accessions.Compared with a conventional genotyping array,BnaPan50T has a high SNP density and a high proportion of SNPs in unique physical positions and in annotated functional genes,promising wide application.Target capture sequencing and wholegenome resequencing in 90 doubled-haploid lines yielded 60%specificity,78%uniformity within tenfold coverage range,and 93%genotyping accuracy for the platform.BnaPan50T was used to construct a genetic map for quantitative trait loci(QTL)mapping,identify 21 unique QTL,and predict several candidate genes for yield-related traits in multiple environments.A set of 132 core SNP loci was selected from BnaPan50T to construct DNA fingerprints and germplasm identification resources.This study provides genomics resources to support target capture sequencing,genetic analysis and genomic breeding of rapeseed. 展开更多

The influence of volcanism on paleoclimate in the northeast of China:Insights from Jinchuan peat,Jilin Province,China 被引量:5

Just like contemporary sediments, peat itself is a good repository of information about climate change, the effects of volcanic activity on climate change have been truly recorded in peat, since it is a major archive of volcanic eruption incidents. A section of sand was identified as tephra from the Jinchuan peat, Jilin Province, China, for the grains look like slag with surface bubbles and pits, characterized by high porosity, and loose structure with irregular edges and corners. According to the peat characteristics of uniform deposition, the tephra was dated at 2002-1976 a B.P. by way of linear interpolation, so the time of volcanic eruption was 15 B.C.-26 A.D. (the calibrated age). While the geochemical characteristics of tephra in this study are quite the same as those of tephra from the Jinlongdingzi volcano at Longgang and from alkaline basaltic magma, with the contents of SiO2<55%, and the similar contents to Al2O3 and Fe, but the contents of Na2O>K2O. We speculated that the tephra in this study came from the Longgang volcano group. Compared with 11 recorded volcanic eruption events as shown on the carbon and oxygen isotope curves of the Jinchuan peat cellulose, it is obviously seen that adjacent or large-scale volcanic eruptions are precisely corresponding to the minimum temperature and humidity. It seems that these volcanic eruptions indeed affected the local climate, leading to the drop of regional temperature and humidity. As a result, there was prevailing a cold and dry climate there, and all these changes can be well recorded in peat. So the comparison of volcanic eruption events with information about climate change developed from peat, can provide strong evidence for the impact of volcanism on climate change. 展开更多

Aims:Multiple genes and environmental factors are known to be involved in congenital heart disease(CHD),but epigenetic variation has received little attention.Monozygotic(MZ)twins with CHD provide a unique model for exploring this phenomenon.In order to investigate the potential role of Deoxyribonucleic Acid(DNA)methyla-tion in CHD pathogenesis,the present study examined DNA methylation variation in MZ twins discordant for CHD,especially ventricular septal defect(VSD).Methods and Results:Using genome-wide DNA methylation profiles,we identified 4004 differentially methylated regions(DMRs)in 18 MZ twin pairs discordant for CHD,and 2826 genes were identified.Gene Ontology(GO)and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)analysis revealed a list of CHD-associated pathways.To further investigate the role of DNA methylation in VSD,data from 7 pairs of MZ twins with VSD were analyzed.We identified 1614 DMRs corresponding to 1443 genes associated with arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy,cyclic guanosine monopho-sphate-protein kinase G(cGMP-PKG)signaling pathway by KEGG analysis,and cell-cell adhesion,calcium ion transmembrane transport by GO analysis.A proportion of DMR-associated genes were involved in calcium signaling pathways.The methylation changes of calcium signaling genes might be related to VSD pathogenesis.Conclusion:CHD is associated with differential DNA methylation in MZ twins.CHD may be etiologically linked to DNA methylation,and methylation of calcium signaling genes may be involved in the development of VSD. 展开更多

Previous studies have focused on the effects of folic acid on astrocyte proliferation. OBJECTIVE: To explore the effects of folic acid on astrocyte differentiation of neural stem cells (NSCs) and the related mechanisms in vitro. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A randomized, controlled, grouping experiment was performed in Tianjin Medical University between August 2007 and October 2008. MATERIALS: Folic acid and 5-bromo-2-deoxyuridine (BrdU) were obtained from Sigma, MO, USA. Primary antibodies [rabbit anti-rat nestin, β-tubulin-Ⅲ, glial fibrillary acidic protein, and neurogeninl (Ngnl); mouse anti-rat BrdU and β-actin monoclonal antibodies] were purchased from Santa Cruz Biotechnology, USA. METHODS: At 6 days of NSC proliferation from 24-hour-old neonatal rats, BrdU incorporation assay was performed. Seven days after primary culture, NSCs were induced to differentiate with medium containing 5% fetal bovine serum. Cultured NSCs were assigned to three groups: control, low-dose (liquid media with 8 mg/L folic acid), and high-dose folic acid (liquid media with 44 mg/L folic acid). MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: At day 7 after primary culture, the cells were identified as NSCs by immunocytochemical methods. Double-label immunofluorescence technique for glial fibrillary acidic protein/BrdU detected differentiated cells 7 days after induction. Western blot was used to analyze expression of Ngnl protein in NSCs. RESULTS: In serum-free suspension medium, neurospheres comprised a large number of Nestin-, glial fibrillary acidic protein-, β-tubulin-Ⅲ-, and BrdU-positive cells. Compared with the control group, high-dose folic acid supplementation led to an marked increase in the percentage of glial fibrillary acidic protein/BrdU-positive cells (P 〈 0.05), and significantly decreased Ngnl protein expression (P 〈 0.05). The increase of CO2 in atmosphere is a main factor leading to "greenhouse effect", which causes more and more serious global environmental problems. The reduction of CO2 is a challenge for the survival of human beings, and it is also a big technical problem. CO2 fluid-rock interaction is a key scientific problem involved in geo-logical storage. The CO2 fluid-rock interaction has a variety of multi-scale changes. Due to great differences in the quantity of surface atoms and surface energy between micron-nano-sized minerals, and ions and crystals, the speed and efficiency of CO2 fluid-rock interaction on a micron-nano scale are much higher than those on other scales. As is known from the natural world, the micron-nano structures of pores and the surface chemical modification of natural porous minerals (zeolite, diatomite, sepiolite, palygorskite, halloysite, etc.) should be further investigated, which can be used as the micron-nano -mineral porous materials with high capacity and high efficiency for capturing CO2. Through simulating the adsorption capacity and process of CO2 by minerals in the natural world, the micron-nano technology is applied to calcium- and magnesium-based minerals (olivine, pyroxene, feldspar, clay, etc.) so as to improve the activity of calcium and magnesium and enlarge the reaction contact area. In this way, the efficiency of capturing and storage of CO2 by calcium- and magnesium-based minerals can be greatly improved. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the mechanism of Bushen Huoxue decoction( 补肾活血汤, BSHXD) to treat endometriosis-induced infertility. MEDHODS: The main compounds of BSHXD were determined by high performance liquid chromatographymass spectrometry(HPLC-MS/MS). The effect of BSHXD on Homeobox A10(HOXA10) and alpha(v)beta(3)(αvβ3) integrin expression of Ishikawa cells, mouse model, and endometriosis-associated infertility women was evaluated by using Western blot analysis, immunohistochemistry and Real-Time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RTq PCR). The efficacy of BSHXD on embryo attachment were examined by using the Be Wo spheroid and mouse embryo attachment assay. HOXA10 concentration in uterine flushing fluid of endometriosis-associated infertility women treated with BSHXD was measured by EnzymeLinked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).RESULTS: BSHXD improved Be Wo spheroid and mice blastocysts attachment to Ishikawa cells and increased embryo implantation rates in mice and pregnancy rates in women with endometriosis-associated infertility. BSHXD enhanced HOXA10 and αvβ3 integrin expression in Ishikawa cell, endometriosis mouse model, and endometriosis-associated infertility women, which potentially improved endometrial receptivity. Nanoscale drug delivery systems(nDDS)have been employed widely in enhancing the therapeutic efficacy of drugs against diseases with reduced side effects.Although several nDDS have been successfully approved for clinical use up to now,biological barriers between the administration site and the target site hinder the wider clinical adoption of nDDS in disease treatment.Polyethylene glycol(PEG)-modification(or PEGylation)has been regarded as the gold standard for stabilising nDDS in complex biological environment.However,the accelerated blood clearance(ABC)of PEGylated nDDS after repeated injections becomes great challenges for their clinical applications.Zwitterionic polymer,a novel family of antifouling materials,have evolved as an alternative to PEG due to their super-hydrophilicity and biocompatibility.Zwitterionic nDDS could avoid the generation of ABC phenomenon and exhibit longer blood circulation time than the PEGylated analogues.More impressively,zwitterionic nDDS have recently been shown to overcome multiple biological barriers such as nonspecific organ distribution,pressure gradients,impermeable cell membranes and lysosomal degradation without the need of any complex chemical modifications.The realization of overcoming multiple biological barriers by zwitterionic nDDS may simplify the current overly complex design of nDDS,which could facilitate their better clinical translation.Herein,we summarise the recent progress of zwitterionic nDDS at overcoming various biological barriers and analyse their underlyingmechanisms.Finally,prospects and challenges are introduced to guide the rational design of zwitterionic nDDS for disease treatment. 展开更多

Population growth and expanding urbanization have caused persistent shortages and contamination of groundwater resources in Mali,Africa.The increase in groundwater salinity makes it more difficult for residents to obtain drinking water,it is necessary to clarify the causes and control factors of groundwater mineralization in Gao region,northern Mali.Based on the analysis of the hydrochemical composition of groundwater in 24 boreholes,Piper and Sch?eller diagrams,principal component analysis(PCA)and hierarchical cluster analysis(HCA)are used to carry out multivariate statistical analysis on the main ions.The results show that the groundwater samples are weakly alkaline,with pH values ranging from 5.83 to 8.40,and the average values of boreholes are 7.50,respectively.The average electrical conductivity(EC)value is 354.4(μS/cm),and the extreme value is between 124.0 and 1247(μS/cm).Water is usually mineralized and presents nine types of water phase.The three principal components explain 84.42%of the total variance for 13 parameters.The factor F1(58.85%),the factor F2(16.88%)and the factor F3(8.69%)present for the majority of the total data set.In addition,multivariate statistical analysis confirmed the genetic relationship among aquifers and identified three main clusters.Clustering related to groundwater mineralization(F1),clustering related to oxide reduction and iron enrichment(F2),and clustering of groundwater pollution caused by nitrate and magnesium(F3).We found that agriculture,weathering activities and dissolution of geological materials promote the mineralization of groundwater.Groundwater quality in the Gao region is becoming less and less potable because of increasing salinity. 展开更多

In order to reveal the complex network characteristics and evolution principle of China aviation network,the relationship between the average degree and the average path length of edge vertices of China aviation network in 1988,1994,2001,2008 and 2015 was studied.According to the theory and method of complex network,the network system was constructed with the city where the airport was located as the network node and the airline as the edge of the network.On the basis of the statistical data,the average degree and average path length of edge vertices of China aviation network in 1988,1994,2001,2008 and 2015 were calculated.Through regression analysis,it was found that the average degree had a logarithmic relationship with the average path length of edge vertices and the two parameters of the logarithmic relationship had linear evolutionary trace. 展开更多

A sustainable management of national park requires collaboration between park staff, NGOs, local organizations and stakeholders, and government intervention. This collaboration promotes community-based welfare and inspires a sense of responsibility, thus promoting more benefits than conflicts. A survey administered to residents surrounding Nyungwe National Park was used to evaluate the relationship between Nyungwe National Park management and local communities. The residents acknowledged a positive attitude towards participating in conservation organizations where there was involvement, while a negative response revealed weak community mobilization. The community’s opinions about protection and tourism progression noted weak conflict resolution, but a positive attitude towards tourism activities in the area since they believed employment was likely as a result. In addition, the residents asked for support from government investments and stakeholders to develop the local private sector, and asked to be involved during the planning process. Approaches including the design of coordination mechanisms and integrated conservation and developments projects are suggested to promote a management structure leading to community involvement in conservation and tourism activities. This will increase visitor numbers and contribute to economic development not only in the region but also in the whole country. Empirical studies along with the factors shaping tourism and conservation activities should be considered as the basis for sustainable decision and policy making for sustainable management, and will contribute to government, stakeholders and park manager collaborations at Nyungwe national park. 展开更多

We synthesized a mesoporous film based on TiO2-reduced graphene oxide(RGO)hybrids using a one-step vapor-thermal method without the need for an additional annealing process.The vapor-thermally prepared TiO2-graphene hybrid(VTH)features unique structures with an ultra-large specific surface area of^260 m^2 g^-1 and low aggregation,giving rise to enhanced light harvesting and increased charge generation and separation efficiency.It was observed that a mesoporous film with uniform pore distribution is simultaneously obtained during the VTH growth process.When a 5.0 wt%RGO VTH film was used as the active layer in photocatalysis,the highest photocatalytic activity for degradation of methyl orange was achieved.For another,when a 0.75 wt%RGO VTH film was used as the photoanode in a dye-sensitized solar cell,the power conversion efficiency reached 7.58%,which represents an increase of 73.1%compared to a solar cell using an a photoanode of pure TiO2 synthesized by a traditional solvothermal method.It is expected that this facile method for the synthesis of TiO2/graphene hybrid mesoporous films will be useful in practical applications for preparing other metal oxide/graphene hybrids with ultra-high photocatalytic activity and photovoltaic performance. 展开更多
