Phanerozoic giaucony preferably forms in a shelf depositional setting. Deep marine conditions and low seawater temperature discourage formation of glaucony. Around 75% of glaucony is recorded from the Cretaceous to the Holo- eene sediments, which are related to the abundance of the most common substrates, faecal pellets and bioclasts. TFe203 (total), A1203, K20 and MgO contents of glaucony vary appreciably through geological time. IMhile TFe203 content of most Mesozoic and Cenozoic giaucony ex- ceeds 20%, it is always less than 20% in Precambrian varieties. High K20, A1203, MgO and low TFe203 distinguish the Precambrian glaucony from its Phanerozoic counterpart. Precambrian glaucony, preferably formed within a K-feldspar substrate, is always rich in potassium irre- spective of its degree of evolution, while high K-content in Phanerozoic evolved glaucony in- dicates significant stratigraphic condensation. K20 iJs. TFe203 relationship of glaucony exhibits three different evolutionary trends corresponding to three common modes of origin. Depositional conditions may influence the composition of glaucony as slightly reducing conditions favour Fe enrichment, whereas oxidising conditions cause Fe depletion in giaucony.展开更多

Hepatic venous outflow reconstruction is an important factor for successful living donor liver transplantation outcome. However, in presence of undrained anterior sector and presence of multiple short hepatic veins that drain substantial portions of liver, outflow reconstruction without backtable venoplasty may lead to severe graft congestion and subsequent graft dysfunction. Various backtable venoplasty techniques in presence of multiple hepatic veins that can be used in either right- or leftlobe liver transplantation are devised to ensure a single, wide outflow channel. In this overview, various techniques to overcome the hepatic venous variations of liver allograft and outflow reconstruction are discussed.展开更多

If underlying primary hepatic malignancy can be treated, an aggressive resection of subcutaneous tissue bearing cancer cell with subsequent abdominal wall reconstruction has been sporadically reported. But, when hepatic resection is not possible due to underlying advanced cirrhosis, liver transplantation along with abdominal wall resection and subsequent reconstruction remains only feasible option. Herein, we describe our successful experience of living donor liver transplantation for hepatocellular carcinoma with fullthickness abdominal wall resection bearing the tumor seeding followed by reconstruction in single stage surgery.展开更多

Voltage sags are normally described by characteristics of both magnitude and duration, but phaseangle jump should be taken into account in identifying sag phenomena and finding their solutions. In this paper, voltage sags due to power system faults such as single phase-to-ground, phase-tophase, and two-phase-to-ground faults are characterized by using symmetrical component analysis and their effect on the magnitude variation and phase-angle jumps for each phase are examined. A simple and practical method is proposed for voltage sag detection, by calculating RMS voltage over a window of one-half cycle. The industrial distribution system at Bajaj hospital is taken as a case study. Simulation studies have been performed by using MATLAB/SIMULINK and the results are presented at various magnitudes, duration and phase-angle jumps.展开更多

Methodology 60 subjects (age 25-50 years) were enrolled into three groups (n=20 per group),group Ⅰ (healthy),group Ⅱ (gingivitis) and group III (chronic periodontitis). Group Ⅲ subjects were followed for 6-8 weeks after the initial periodontal therapy (SRP) as the group Ⅳ (after periodontal therapy). Clinical parameters were assessed as gingival index (GI),probing depth (PD),clinical attachment level (CAL),and radiographic evidence of bone loss. GCF and serum levels of OSM were measured by using Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). Results It was found that mean OSM levels had been elevated in both the GCF and serum of chronic periodontitis subjects (726.65 ± 283.56 and 65.59 ± 12.37 pg·mL-1,res-pectively) and these levels were decreased proportionally after the periodontal therapy (95.50 ± 38.85 and 39.98 ± 16.69 pg·mL-1 respectively). However,OSM was detected in GCF of healthy subjects (66.15 ± 28.10 pg·mL-1) and gingivitis-suffering subjects (128.33 ± 22.96 pg·mL-1) and was found as below the detectable limit (≈0.0 pg·mL-1) in the serum of same subjects. Significant correlation has been found between clinical parameters and GCF-serum levels of OSM. Conclusion Increased OSM level both in the GCF and serum, and the decreased levels after initial periodontal therapy (SRP) may suggest a use as an inflammatory bio-marker in the periodontal disease.展开更多

文摘Aim The aim of this study was to measure the level of Oncostatin M (OSM) a gp130 cytokine in the gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) and serum of chronic periodontitis patients and to find any correlation between them before and after periodontal therapy (scaling and root planing,SRP). Conclusion Increased OSM level both in the GCF and serum, and the decreased levels after initial periodontal therapy (SRP) may suggest a use as an inflammatory bio-marker in the periodontal disease.

文摘We report the synthesis of Co^(2+)substituted Mg–Cu–Zn ferrite via citrate gel combustion process and thereby its structural, transport, and magnetic properties for the use in electromagnetic energy absorption application. The polycrystalline ferrite system is investigated by interplay of stoichiometric composition with Mg_(0.25–x)Co_x Cu_(0.25)Zn_(0.5)Fe_2O_4(0≤x≤0.25).Structural investigations using X-ray diffraction(XRD)and selected area electron diffraction(SAED)reveal the formation of spinel structure with linear growth of lattice constant due to Co^(2+)substitution.The microstructural analysis(TEM and SEM)depicts the dense microstructure with the average grain size of 0.42–1.25μm.The elemental analysis(EDS)confirms the elemental composition of the as-prepared ferrite with respect to the initial concentrations of the synthetic composition used. The observed variations in initial permeability(μ_i)and magnetic moment(_Bn)are explained based on deviation in saturation magnetization(M_s),anisotropy constant(_1K),density values, and exchange interaction. The temperature dependence of DC resistivity confirms the semiconducting behavior of the as-prepared ferrite material, with an increase in the DC resistivity by an incorporation of cobalt.Furthermore, the effects of adding Co^(2+)on the Curie temperature, frequency dependent dielectric properties of the ferrite material are also discussed.

This method has the advantages of high yields, short reaction time, simple starting materials and reusability of catalyst for several times.
文摘In this study, polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)–ionic liquid(IL) membranes were prepared for the separation of isopropyl alcohol(IPA)–water azeotropic mixtures by pervaporation.PVA-IL composite membranes were prepared by simple solvent evaporation method using four ILs,viz.,1-n-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride(BMIMCl),1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride(HMIMCl),1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium tetra fluoroborate(HMIMBF4) and 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride(OMIMCl).Three ILs were used to study the effect of alkyl chain on the pervaporation performance. The study had focused on the effect feed water concentration from 10%–40%and effect of feed temperature from 50–80°C.Physiochemical properties of all the membranes were studied using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and contact angle measurement. The Arrhenius activation energies for permeation were estimated to be in the range 4–12 kJ·mol-1 from the temperature dependent permeation values.

文摘The oxalate co-precipitation method was used to synthesize the La3+substituted Ni-Cu-Zn(La-NCZ)nanoferrites having chemical composition Ni_(0.7)Cu_(0.1)Zn_(0.2)LaxFe_(2-x)O_(4)(x=0.015,0.025 and 0.035).DC resistivity study of nanoferrites shows both the conducting and semiconducting behaviour. The room temperature DC electrical resistivity of Ni-Cu-Zn(NCZ)nanoferrites decreases, whereas Curie temperature increases with increasing La^(3+)content.In the temperature range of 30-170℃nanoferrites show p-type semiconducting behavior except x=0.015;thereafter,they show n-type behaviour. The frequency dispersive initial permeability(μi)associated with its real and imaginary(μ’andμ")parts are attributed to the domain wall movement and magnetic spin resonant.Theμi,u’andμ"of La-NCZ nanoferrites are higher than those of pure NCZ nanoferrite.Dielectric constant(ε’),dielectric loss(ε")and AC resistivity(ρAC)of La-NCZ nanoferrites show normal dielectric behaviour. It is found thatε’of NCZ nanoferrites decreases with the increasing content of La3+ions.The bandgap energy of La-NCZ nanoferrites is achieved in the range 1.36-1.70 eV confirming the semiconducting nature of materials.

文摘An unprecedented Ag(I)-catalyzed[3+3]-annulation of alkynyl alcohols(5-hexyn-1-ols)andα,β-unsaturated ketones is reported to construct simple to complex chromanes. This transformation begins with hydroalkoxylation of alkynol through C-C triple bond activation to give cyclic-enol ether, followed by intermolecular 1,4-addition and intramolecular 1,2-addition of enol ethers onto the enone and oxidative aromatization or Grob-type elimination steps.
文摘Stereoselective synthesis by an aldol reaction between chloroacetone and aldehyde was studied using a synthesized chiral organocatalyst and triethylamine. The reaction gave α-chloro-β-hydroxy ketones in excellent yield with high anti selectivity and enantioselectivity. The chiral organocatalyst was also used in the Knoevenagel reaction, which gave α-cyano-β-hydroxy ketones at a low temperature and the usual Knoevenagel product at a high temperature. Both products were obtained in good to moderate yield with good anti selectivity in the case of α-cyano-β-hydroxy ketone derivatives.
