Objective:To develop a novel approach for the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles using aqueous leaves extracts of Catharanthus roseus(C.roseus) Linn.G.Don which has been proven aclive against malaria parasite Pla...Objective:To develop a novel approach for the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles using aqueous leaves extracts of Catharanthus roseus(C.roseus) Linn.G.Don which has been proven aclive against malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum(P.falciparum).Methods:Characterizations were determined by using ultraviolet-visible(UV-Vis) spectrophotometry,scanning electron microscopy(SEM).energy dispersive X-ray and X-ray diffraction.Results:SLM showed the formation of silver nanoparticles with an average size of 35-55 nm.X-ray diffraction analysts showed that the particles were crystalline in nature with face centred cubic structure of the hulk silver with the broad peaks at 32.4.46.4 and 28.0.Conclusions:It can be concluded that the leaves of C.roseus can he good source for synthesis of silver nanoparticle which shows aiitiplasmodial activity against P.falciparum.The important outcome of the study will he the development of value added products from medicinal plants C.roseus lor hionicdical and nanotechnology based industries.展开更多

Input power and the num...This work focuses on the efficiency of the LED acting as the heat sink containing Phase Change Material(PCM). Three different heat sink configurations(H-1, H-2, and H-3) are used in this study. Input power and the number of fins are altered to find their effect on junction temperatures, luminous flux, and thermal resistance. The junction temperature of heat sink H-3 with PCM decreased by 3.1 % when compared with heat sink devoid of PCM at 10 W. The thermal resistance of the heat sink H-3 is reduced by 18.2 % when compared to its counterpart devoid of PCM at 10 W. The luminous flux of the PCM filled heat sink H-3 is found to increase by 12.15 % against the PCM not filled heat sink H-1 at 10 W. The H-3 heat sink with PCM showed superior performance because of the enhanced natural convection and conduction in bulk PCM with fins, and with added high latent heat capacity of PCM.展开更多

The presence of moisture in concrete and time ...The article reveals the development and analysis of fabric structure for its moisture absorbency property and its application in Civil engineering for curing of concrete. The presence of moisture in concrete and time of curing are the major influencing factors for concrete strength. Normal practice of curing is to wrap the concrete with jute woven fabric and spraying of water. The absorbency characteristics of different GSM (Gram per square meter) of woven and Non-woven fabric were studied. The Non-woven fabric absorbency is superior to woven fabric of same GSM by its three dimensional structure and high pore volume. The strength of concrete cured with Non- woven fabric is 2.1 N/mm2 higher than woven fabric of same 350 GSM. The difference in compressive strength of Non-woven fabric of 350 GSM and 750 GSM is 0.06 N/mm2 which is marginal.展开更多
