This renaissance has been driven in part by the discovery of a plethora of charmonium-like XYZ states at BESⅢ and B factories, and the observation of an intriguing proton-antiproton threshold enhancement and the possibly related X(1835) meson state at BESⅢ, as well as the threshold measurements of charm mesons and charm baryons. We present a detailed survey of the important topics in tau-charm physics and hadron physics that can be further explored at BESⅢ during the remaining operation period of BEPCⅡ. This survey will help in the optimization of the data-taking plan over the coming years, and provides physics motivation for the possible upgrade of BEPCⅡ to higher luminosity.展开更多

METHODS: A total of 6990 subjects, who underwent a gastric cancer screening in North China from 1997 to 2002, were collected in this study. Serum pepsinogen levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). H pylori status was determined by histological examination and H pylori-IgG ELISA. The cut-off point was calculated by using receiving operator characteristics (ROC) curves. Factors linked to serum PG Ⅰ/Ⅱ ratio were identified using a multivariate logistic regression. RESULTS: The serum PGⅠ and PGⅡ levels were significantly higher in males than in females (95.2 μg/L vs 79.7 μg/L, P < 0.01; 12.1 μg/L vs 9.4 μg/L, P < 0.01), PGⅠ/Ⅱ ratio was significantly lower in males than in females (7.9 vs 8.3, P < 0.01). The PG Ⅰ/Ⅱ ratio decreased significantly in the aged groups following the progression of gastric mucosa from normal to non-atrophic and atrophic lesions (10.4, 8.8, and 6.6, respectively). The serum PGⅠand Ⅱ levels were significantly higher in patients with H pylori infection than in those without H pylori infection (88.7 μg/L vs 81.4 μg/L, P < 0.01; 11.4 μg/L vs 8.4 μg/L, P < 0.01), while the PGⅠ/Ⅱ ratio was significantly lower in patients with H pylori infection than in those without H pylori infection (7.7 vs 9.6, P < 0.01). For patients with atrophic lesions, the area under the PGⅠ/Ⅱ ROC curve was 0.622. The best cut-off point for PGⅠ/Ⅱ was 6.9, with a sensitivity of 53.2%, and a specificity of 67.5%. Factors linked to PGⅠ/Ⅱ were sensitive to identified PG using a multinomial logistic regression relying on the following inputs: males (OR: 1.151, 95% CI: 1.042-1.272, P = 0.006), age ≥ 61 years (OR: 1.358, 95% CI: 1.188-1.553, P = 0.000), atrophic lesion (OR: 2.075, 95% CI: 1.870-2.302, P = 展开更多

The intestinal metaplasia was determined by histochemistry method. The H. pyloriinfection was determined by HE stain, PCR and ELISA in 291 specimens, among which only 34 cases of H. pylori-associated gastric lesions were followed up.RESULTS: The positive rate of MG7 expression in normal gastric mucosa, intestinal metaplasia, dysplasia and gastric cancer increased gradually in ascending order (P<0.01). The positive rate of MG7 antigen expression in type Ⅲ intestinal metaplasia of gastric mucosa was higher than that of type Ⅰand Ⅱ intestinal metaplasia, being highly significant (P<0.05).The positive rate of MG7 antigen expression in superficial gastritis, atrophic gastritis and gastric cancer increased gradually (11.9 %, 64.8 %, 91.2 %, P<0.01). There was no significant difference between H.pylori-negative and H. pyloripositive intestinal metaplasia, atrophic gastritis and dysplasia of gastric epithelium in the positive rate of MG7 antigen expression. There was no expression of MG7 antigen in H. pylori-negative superficial gastritis. The positive rate of MG7 expression in H. pylori-positive superficial gastritis was 20.5 %, and the difference between them was significant (P<0.05). During following up, one of the three H. pylori negative cases turned positive again, and its MG7 antigen expression turned to be stronger correspondingly. 3 of 31 H. pyloripositive cases were detected as early gastric cancer, among which one with '+++' MG7 antigen expression was diminished after H. pylori eradication.CONCLUSION: MG7 antigen expression is highly sp展开更多

The annual GC cases, constituent ratio, crude rates,age-standardized rates, their sex and age distribution and temporal trends were assessed. The method of annual percentage change (APC) was used to estimate the trends of GC.RESULTS: Altogether 2634 new cases of GC and 1722 related deaths were registered, which accounted for 21.04% and 19.13% of all cancer-related incidence and deaths, respectively. The age-standardized incidence rate steadily decreased from 57.48 in 2005 to 44.53 in 2010 per 10^5 males, and from 18.13 to 14.70 per 10s females, resulting in a APC of -5.81% for males and -2.89% for females over the entire period. The magnitude of APC in GC mortality amounted to -11.09% and -15.23%, respectively, as the agestandardized mortality rate steadily decreased from 42.08 in 2005 to 23.71 in 2010 per 10^5 males, and from 23.86 to 10.78 per 10^5 females. Females had a significantly lower incidence (a male/female ratio 2.80, P 〈 0.001) and mortality (a male/female ratio 2.30, P 〈 0.001). In both genders, the peak incidence and mortality occurred in the 80-84 years age group. The age-standardized mortality/incidence ratio also decreased from the peak of 0.73 in 2005 to 0.53 in 2010 for males, and from 1.32 to 0.73 for females.CONCLUSION: Encouraging declines of incidence and mortality of GC were observed in Zhuanghe region between 2005 and 2010, possibly due to the economic development and efficient GC control strategies.展开更多

In China, the incidence of intraoperative awareness was 1% in patients undergoing total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA). In this study, we compared the incidence of awareness between Bispectral index (BIS)-guided and routine TIVA protocol and evaluated the effect of BIS on preventing awareness. Methods A prospective, randomized, double-blinded, multicenter controlled trial was performed. Patients (〉18 years of age) undergoing TIVA were randomly divided into BIS-guided group (Group A, BIS was monitored and recommended to maintain between 40-60) and control group (Group B, BIS was monitored but the screen was covered). The intraoperative BIS values were downloaded and the BIS trends of confirmed awareness cases were analyzed to determine whether light anesthesia existed. Results Of the total 5228 patients, 2919 patients were assigned to Group A and 2309 to Group B. Four cases of confirmed awareness (0.14%) were reported in the BIS-guided group and 15 (0.65%) in the control group (P=-0.002, OR=0.21, 95% confidence intervals: 0.07-0.63). The incidence of possible awareness (0.14% vs. 0.26%, P=0.485) and dreaming (3.1% vs. 3.1%, P=0.986) was comparable between BIS-guided group and the control group. Among the 19 confirmed awareness cases, intraoperative BIS trends of six cases were downloaded and identified. Five of them showed signs of light anesthesia as BIS 〉60 and lasted 19-106 minutes, whereas one case had a stable BIS trend and the values were within 60 during the operation. Another five awareness cases were reviewed for anesthesia procedures, of which improper light anesthesia were confirmed. Conclusions BIS-guided TIVA (BIS was recommended to maintain between 40-60) decreased the risk of awareness compared with routine TIVA. The main reason for awareness was light anesthesia.展开更多
